By the time Lucien had woken up, nighttime had arrived.
The sky above was a deep blanket of ink, scattered with faint stars. A cool breeze drifted through the trees, carrying the scent of distant rain. Somewhere in the dark, an owl called.
He woke while resting on Seraphina’s lap, which made him realise she had been like that since he fainted. Her fingers were still tangled in his hair, her breathing soft and steady. She hadn’t moved. She hadn’t left.
They decided to continue tomorrow and summoned the coachman with the royal carriage. The unicorns stood patiently in the moonlight, their horns glowing faintly. The carriage door opened with a soft click, and the steps unfolded.
They entered. The comfy, cozy bed enticed them—silk sheets, plush pillows, the faint smell of lavender. Lucien sat on the edge, his body still heavy with exhaustion.
He decided to check the system notifications that had resounded when he killed Shea.

The continuous system messages shook him. He had never expected that killing a human would bring this many rewards.
The rewards were what couldn’t be refused.

His MP, which had been 200, had changed to 300.
And for his level, he was level 7, just a few EXP away from the next level.

His Origin Soul was still empty; it seemed he had to awaken his bloodline first.
The Fang of the Unnamed Dark was still the same except for the additional skill.
And as for his Obsession Link, Seraphina’s obsession had reached eighty percent, and the resonance level had reached ninety percent. This shook him in surprise – he had expected it to be an obstacle or hard to increase, but here it was.
As for his system resources, he had a total of 1400 Eternal Devotion Tokens and 2 Eternal Devotion Tickets.
For his Gacha Tickets, he had 7 random Gacha tickets and 1 rare Gacha ticket.
As for his stat points, he had 480 of them.
He split the 480 stat points into six according to his stats – 80 for each.
When he did so, he felt his body elevating. He could feel his new strength.
His stats had increased to 260, and his defense had shot up to 280.

Seraphina smirked when she saw his reaction.

Lucien knew she had caught him at the right moment. He had said that when they returned to the carriage, they would do it. He never expected her to remember.

Inwardly, he cursed the system. "Fuck you, system." Why hadn’t it dropped the notification back in the forest? Why wait until the heat of the moment?
