Chapter 7: Mine Across Every Timeline

The sky burned crimson.

Buildings collapsed endlessly beneath the shockwaves of the battle above. Every clash between the Queen and the winged woman distorted reality itself, bending the air like heat rising from burning metal.

Ren could barely keep standing.

BOOOOOOM!!

Another explosion shattered the academy tower nearby. Dust and fire filled the air completely. Kaiser grabbed Ren’s arm immediately and pulled him backward.

"We need to move."

Ren resisted.

"She’s fighting because of me!"

"And she’ll destroy the planet if you stay here," Kaiser snapped.

Far above them the Queen’s crimson chains wrapped around the winged woman’s body and violently slammed her through the city in a single motion. The angelic woman crashed across multiple buildings before stopping. Blood spilled from her lips now.

Yet her golden eyes remained cold.

"She gets worse every timeline," the woman muttered quietly.

The Queen appeared above her instantly. Black flames exploded around her dress while crimson lightning spread across the sky in every direction.

"You talk too much."

She raised one hand. A gigantic crimson spear materialized above the heavens. The pressure radiating from it alone made mountains crack apart in the far distance.

Ren’s eyes widened completely.

"She’ll kill everyone!"

Kaiser cursed beside him.

"She’s losing control again."

The winged woman finally looked serious. Golden magic circles appeared across the sky. Hundreds. Then thousands. The heavens themselves began splitting open. Then gigantic golden chains descended from portals above the clouds. Not one. Not ten.

Millions.

The Queen laughed softly. That terrifying laugh that never meant anything good.

"So you brought the Executors too."

The chains launched toward her from every direction at once. But before they could touch her, the Queen’s crimson eyes turned toward Ren.

And instantly became softer.

Everything about her changed in that single second. The rage. The destruction. The madness. All of it vanished like smoke blown away by wind.

"Ren."

Her voice echoed gently despite the chaos consuming everything around them.

[Absolute Possession]

[The Queen’s emotional bond has exceeded limit.]

Before Ren could react, crimson light exploded around him. His body disappeared entirely.

Kaiser’s eyes widened.

"No—"

In the next second Ren reappeared directly beside the Queen in the sky, hundreds of meters above the ground.

"What the hell?!"

The Queen wrapped one arm around his waist protectively. The golden chains instantly stopped approaching, as if afraid to accidentally hurt him in the process.

The winged woman’s expression darkened sharply. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"You brought him into the battlefield?!"

The Queen looked completely calm now.

"He’s safest beside me."

Ren nearly lost his mind entirely.

"We are literally in the SKY fighting gods!"

The Queen tilted her head slightly.

"And?"

Ren had no response to that.

This woman was insane. Completely, thoroughly, beyond all help insane.

Then one golden chain changed direction unexpectedly and shot toward Ren. Fast. Too fast. The Queen moved instantly but the chain barely sliced across his shoulder before she could intercept it completely.

A tiny wound. Just a small cut.

Yet the moment blood appeared everything stopped.

Silence filled the entire world at once.

The Queen stared at the blood on Ren’s shoulder. Her expression became empty. Dangerously empty, like something vast and cold sliding into place behind her eyes.

Kaiser’s face paled completely below.

"Oh no..."

The winged woman immediately backed away. Even she looked alarmed now, her cold composure cracking visibly for the first time.

The Queen gently touched the blood with trembling fingers. Then she whispered so quietly it should have been lost in the wind.

"You hurt him."

The sky cracked. Literally cracked. Massive fractures spread across the heavens like glass dropping from a great height. The moon turned crimson. Monsters across the entire world screamed in terror simultaneously as if something fundamental had shifted beneath reality itself.

And then the Queen smiled.

A soft, beautiful smile that somehow felt more horrifying than any expression of rage ever could.

"Ren."

She looked at him with something warm in those crimson eyes.

"Close your eyes for a moment."

Every instinct Ren possessed exploded at once.

"WAIT—"

Too late.

The Queen snapped her fingers.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The entire sky shattered. Golden chains exploded into dust instantly. The portals above collapsed violently inward. Even the winged woman coughed blood while being thrown away by the shockwave alone.

The impact traveled across the entire planet in seconds.

Cities trembled from the vibration. Oceans roared without storms. Mountains split apart in the distance as if the earth itself was flinching.

Kaiser shielded himself below while muttering through the chaos.

"She actually broke the barrier between worlds..."

The Queen stepped forward through the collapsing sky while holding Ren against her chest protectively. Countless crimson butterflies surrounded them now, beautiful and deadly and completely unreal against the fractured heavens.

The winged woman stared at her from a distance, bleeding, her white armor split across the chest.

"You’ve become a disaster beyond correction."

The Queen’s smile remained faint and calm.

"All because I loved him too much."

Then she pointed toward the heavens. Every remaining portal above began collapsing at once.

The winged woman’s composure finally shattered completely.

"If the dimensional gates break, every higher realm will fall into chaos!" freeweɓnøvel.com

The Queen’s eyes didn’t change.

"I don’t care."

Ren grabbed her wrist immediately.

"STOP!"

For the first time the Queen paused. Not because of power. Not because of fear. Not because something forced her to.

Only because he asked her to.

The entire world seemed to notice it at once.

Kaiser looked upward silently from far below. The winged woman stared in visible disbelief. The collapsing portals slowed slightly, as if even they were waiting.

The Queen turned toward Ren quietly. Her expression softened the way it only ever did when she looked at him.

"What’s wrong?"

Ren looked directly into her crimson eyes.

"People will die."

The Queen stayed silent for a moment.

Then softly answered.

"You almost died."

Ren clenched his fists.

"That doesn’t mean you destroy everything!"

For several long moments she simply looked at him. Not with anger. Not with the cold emptiness she showed the rest of the world. Just quietly and sadly, the way someone looks at something they are desperately afraid of losing.

Then she whispered, her voice trembling slightly at the edges.

"But every time I don’t..."

"You leave me again."

That single sentence hit harder than every explosion combined.

Not anger. Not madness. Just fear. After hundreds of timelines, after three hundred seventeen deaths, the Crimson Queen was terrified. Genuinely, deeply terrified of losing him one more time.

The winged woman slowly stood in the distance. Blood dripped steadily from her lips. When she spoke her voice was quieter than before.

"You see it now, don’t you?"

Her golden eyes moved toward Ren.

"She isn’t obsessed because she’s evil."

A pause.

"She’s obsessed because grief broke her."

Silence settled over everything.

The crimson sky continued cracking slowly apart above them. Ren looked at the Queen. At the woman who had destroyed worlds across three hundred timelines just to keep one person alive. Just to find him again. Just to get one more chance to not fail.

For the first time since meeting her he didn’t only feel fear.

He felt pity too.

Then the System intervened.

Ren froze instantly.

The Queen’s expression changed immediately. Every wall she had built, every mask she wore, every layer of cold composure she had carried across hundreds of lifetimes collapsed in a single second.

For the first time since he had known her, she looked scared.

"Don’t open it."

That reaction alone made Ren’s chest tighten in a way he didn’t fully understand yet. Because the Queen was afraid of almost nothing. She had faced gods without flinching. She had shattered chains built by higher worlds. She had broken the barriers between dimensions without hesitating.

But she was afraid of him seeing this.

And that meant his first death was probably far worse than anything he had imagined....
