Chapter 334: Chapter 323: Who is o_1
Inside room 801.
Upon entering, there was a living room, where clothes and shoes were scattered all over the floor, belonging to both men and women.
The female garments, made of very little fabric, were glittering and not the kind meant for everyday wear, but rather resembled the kind worn for performances, like stage or runway costumes, all of which were now shredded.
The windows were open, and with the opening of the hotel room door, the cold wind whooshed in. There was a door to the left and right, presumably leading to the two bedrooms mentioned by Mr. Lu. Liu Yufei gestured behind her.
Everyone stopped in their tracks; she stepped up to the door on the left, pressed down on the handle firmly, swung the door open quickly, and stepped aside, not encountering any expected screams. Only then did Liu Yufei look into the room.
A man lay face down on the large round bed with only a towel around his waist, leaving all other parts of his body exposed. Mirrors adorned the ceiling, walls, and cabinets above, making it possible to see oneself on the bed from every angle except the floor. freeweɓnovel.cøm
The man didn’t stir at the sound of the door opening, and he remained motionless even when Liu Yufei approached and kicked his foot. The man shook slightly but did not react.
A bad feeling washed over Liu Yufei, prompting her to rush to the bedside and check the man’s carotid pulse. His pulse was feeble, and he appeared barely to be breathing.
Liu Yufei waved her hand, and a detective stepped in.
"Don’t touch the person on the bed, call for an ambulance immediately, and also ask Director Xu where they are and whether Director Zhou is coming too?"
The person left to make the call, and Liu Yufei glanced at the room before heading towards the bathroom to the north.
When the door opened, a naked man was squatting on the floor, handcuffed to the handle next to the bathtub. His wrists were raw and bleeding from struggling, with dried blood on his hands and a pool of yellow liquid on the floor. Startled by someone opening the door, he shuddered and shuffled towards the corner, continuously pleading.
"I was wrong, I won’t dare do it again, Yunping, please let me go!"
Liu Yufei grabbed a towel and threw it over the man’s buttocks to cover him, then put away her gun and gestured to the detectives.
"Go to the adjacent room and take a look, don’t touch anything, just check for any people and secure the scene."
Another team swiftly rushed to the other room in the suite and returned shortly after.
"No one’s in the next room, but it’s even messier."
"Have Director Xu and his team arrived yet?"
The young man who made the call rushed over.
"They’re here, they’ve just arrived downstairs, and the ambulance will be here soon, should I open the curtains?"
Liu Yufei waved her hand, pointing to the man next to the bathtub.
"Don’t touch the handcuffs or move him. Have a housekeeper find a bathrobe for him; it will be soon enough for him to dress after Director Zhou checks him. As for the person on the bed, don’t move him either."
Liu Yufei exited the room, and everyone sprang into action. Just as she reached the door, she saw Xu Dayuan and his team sprinting towards her. Upon seeing Liu Yufei, they asked urgently:
"What did you find? Is the ambulance coming behind us because there are other victims?"
Liu Yufei nodded.
"Let’s have Director Zhou take a look. There’s a man lying on the bed undressed, with a very slow heartbeat and breathing. I kicked him and got no response, so I’m not sure what happened.
"There’s another man handcuffed on the bathtub handle, also undressed, with numerous injuries, though none life-threatening. It seems like he might have been... forcefully treated. As soon as I opened the door, he started shouting, ’Yunping, let me go!’ I checked the IDs; this one is likely Bai Xiangrong, but I’m not sure about the man on the bed."
Liu Yufei spoke very rapidly, and Zhou Ning and Xu Dayuan understood everything she said clearly.
Zhou Ning put on gloves and directly entered the room, with Mr. Zhao and others closely following. Xu Dayuan stood in the living room, glancing at the out-of-breath Mr. Zeng, who hadn’t followed the elevator but had run up the stairs, looking towards Liu Yufei as if genuinely worried.
Mr. Zhao turned on the light and quickly started photographing the person on the bed. Zhou Ning lifted the man’s eyelid, noted his pinpoint pupils, extremely slow breathing, slow heartbeat, cyanosis, and cold, clammy skin. Zhou Ning opened the man’s mouth to find a slack jaw, and he spotted track marks in the groin area—two deep pits.
This was a classic case of someone who had ’opened their skylight’ much worse than Zhu Yunping and his group, apparently due to a drug overdose. Looking around, he saw a plastic bottle with a tube on the table and frowned, gesturing to Mr. Zhao and others.
"Quickly collect samples from his mouth, nose, fingers, and the surface of the groin area for fingerprint evidence, and it’s best to draw some blood too—he’s overdosed on drugs."
Mr. Zhao and Mr. Yang rushed forward and swiftly completed the tasks outlined by Zhou Ning. By this time, the emergency medical personnel had arrived. Seeing so many police officers, they looked a bit bewildered. Sun Gaotie stepped forward to take the stretcher.
"This is a crime scene, and we’ve found a person who has overdosed on drugs and still has vital signs, but we can’t disturb the scene. We’ll put the person on the stretcher and bring him out; please wait a moment."
The doctor immediately nodded upon hearing it was a drug overdose, handing over the stretcher to Sun Gaotie.
"Comrades, do you have a specified hospital?"
Xu Dayuan turned to look at the doctor, who felt somewhat intimidated by his gaze.
"Go to the Central Hospital, and head directly to Mr. He for admission!"
The doctor hesitated with a puzzled look and finally couldn’t resist speaking up.
"Comrades, I’m not trying to be difficult, but the Central Hospital is overrun today. There was a car accident and two people with serious injuries were taken there. Sending more patients now, I’m afraid they might be treated by other doctors."
Xu Dayuan, trying to be patient, nodded.
"I know, we sent those as well. It’s all part of the same incident."
No sooner had the words been uttered than Sun Gaotie and his team were already carrying out the stretcher. The doctor hurried forward to examine him, checking the pupils, groin, prying open the man’s mouth to inspect the tongue and gums, the entire process echoing Zhou Ning’s exactly.
"Give him epinephrine, high-dose fluid resuscitation, quickly!"
The accompanying medical staff didn’t fuss over rescue positions, each squatting on the ground and getting busy. After the hustle, they put an oxygen mask on the man and carried him away.
Liu Yufei gestured toward the direction of the bathroom, lifting her chin.
"Bai Xiangrong is still inside."
Zhou Ning nodded in acknowledgment.
"I know. Mr. Zhao has closed the bathroom door, there’s someone taking care of him inside. Let’s start the investigation, one room per person, move quickly. As for the sheets and any suspicious items, take photos to secure them first, then bring them back for a thorough inspection. Look mainly for blood stains, Mitragynine, hairs, and various drug packaging."
With that, everyone sprang into action. Sun Gaotie volunteered to investigate the next room on his own, with Zhu Xingxing following; after all, it looked relatively better here.
Clicking sounds kept coming from inside the room. Once the bedroom inspection was over, the bathroom door was finally opened, and Bai Xiangrong was supported out, wrapped in a bathrobe.
The room opposite was ready; Bai Xiangrong was taken there, with Xu Dayuan and Liu Yufei talking to him. Zhou Ning followed into the bathroom.
Mr. Zhao held the camera, continuously taking photos, and Yang Xuetong sampled alongside him. The two worked in perfect sync, moving very quickly. After they finished collecting the sample of the yellow stain on the floor, Mr. Zhao stood up and exhaled a long breath.
"Phew, what a busy spell. But they sure know how to play. One glance at this room and it’s clear that they’ve rented it long-term. They have every tool you can think of, even the enema kits are so professional and diverse. But now I’m a bit confused—what exactly is going on here? Aren’t Bai Xiangrong and Zhu Yunping childhood friends, grown up together? Yet suddenly, there’s an air of gayness, with handcuffs and all these aids, and incontinence on the floor hold on, didn’t the lab report find Bai Xiangrong’s DNA inside Fu Wendan and on her hand?"
Zhou Ning shook his head.
"It wasn’t matched. We only know it belongs to a male."
Yang Xuetong moved closer.
"It’s DNA they found, not Mitragynine. Traces of Mitragynine haven’t been matched yet in the crime scene. I suspect it’s this high flyer. But from the car accident on our way back to now, it’s been more than seven hours. Has he been handcuffed here the whole time? I remember Mrs. Fei said that when he spoke, he pleaded ’Yunping, please let me go!’"
Before Zhou Ning could respond, Mr. Zhao had already grinned, patting Yang Xuetong on the shoulder, his chubby flesh shaking with laughter.
"Mr. Yang, what are you on about? Mrs. Fei is only a few months older than Zhou Xiaozhou and me. You’re much older than her. Calling her ’Mrs. Fei’ makes it seem like she’s some sort of gang boss."
Yang Xuetong shook his head.
"Wrong. It’s a sign of respect."
Just as Mr. Zhao was about to speak, he felt a chill on his back and quickly composed himself, patting Yang Xuetong on the shoulder.
"You have good taste. Mrs. Fei’s capabilities are rare in the bureau, decisive and accurate in her judgments, acting swiftly and boldly when faced with issues."
Yang Xuetong laughed, Mr. Zhao laughed, and Zhou Ning shook his head.
The two of them have been interacting for a long time, seemingly influencing each other. Mr. Yang has been increasingly chuunibyou, following Mr. Zhao’s lead astray.
"Alright, hurry up with the lab submissions. Go check whether Gao Tie and Zhu Xingxing are done. You two do a run-through, make sure nothing’s missed."
The two of them heaved a sigh of relief, and just as they were turning to leave, it was as if they had just realized that Liu Yufei was standing beside Zhou Ning.
"Oh, Mrs. Fei is here. Carry on with your talk, we’ll go check on the others."
Liu Yufei snorted twice, ignoring Mr. Zhao. Xu Dayuan also came over at this point, surprising Zhou Ning with his speed, and he glanced questioningly at the opposite room.
"Did you two finish questioning him?"
Both nodded simultaneously.
"No need to ask too much, he told us everything himself. You’ll go there shortly to examine him."
Liu Yufei cast a glance.
"Let the chief tell you the details. I’m going to see if the report is printed out yet."
Zhou Ning was puzzled, as Liu Yufei’s abrupt evasion clearly suggested that the content of Bai Xiangrong’s confession was rather embarrassing.
"What’s the matter, chief? Don’t look like that. Could it be that Bai Xiangrong is an ’o’, and Zhu Yunping is bisexual?"
Xu Dayuan paused, and realizing Zhou Ning’s explanation hadn’t registered with him, quickly raised a finger to form a "1" and then an "o," motioning the meanings to Xu, explaining who was who, and what it signified.
Xu Dayuan had an epiphany.
"Alright, all these new terms are beyond us now, we’re out of the loop. But this description is very detailed. Bai Xiangrong said he’s always followed Zhu Yunping since childhood, even though he’s a few months older than Zhu Yunping and taller. But he just likes Zhu Yunping. Zhu Yunping loves to play around, always looking to flirt and changing girlfriends faster than clothes, and to not be ditched by Zhu Yunping, he would always stick with him. He thinks he’s the main wife... I can hardly bear to repeat these words myself!"
