Chapter 1155: Chapter 1151: I Don’t Think I Did Anything to Wrong You

Luke Land had drunk a lot, and Asher Land, unable to watch any longer, reached over and snatched his glass away.

"Are you a man or not? If you are, take her back now." Asher Land’s voice was cold, but Luke Land paid little attention. He directly grabbed a bottle of red wine from the coffee table and took another big gulp.

Asher Land was powerless against his second brother and said nothing more, turning to go upstairs.

In the dead of night, the solitude in one’s heart becomes even more pronounced.

A "bang" echoed, the sound of a glass falling to the ground.

The noise was loud enough that Eva Miller, recently a light sleeper, heard it immediately.

She tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep, and the noise from the hall only worsened her restless frustration.

She quietly climbed out of bed, slipped on a pair of slippers, and walked downstairs.

Only a dim wall lamp was on downstairs, and without a closer look, she couldn’t see anything clearly.

She held the railing as she slowly descended the stairs, trying to tread lightly. Just as she reached the last two steps, the living room lights suddenly came on, flooding everything with brightness.

Startled, she instinctively gripped the banister tightly and glanced to the side, seeing Luke Land standing there, his expression unable to fully conceal his delight.

"Little Chili..."

"I’m not here to see you. I’m just thirsty and wanted to get some water from the kitchen..." Eva Miller said, then quickened her pace, brushing past Luke Land and heading to the kitchen. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"Wait a moment." Luke Land grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the sofa, "I’ll get it for you."

Luke Land turned and walked to the kitchen, and when Eva Miller saw his departing figure, a wave of inexplicable frustration welled up inside her.

Over their time together, she had gradually gotten used to his kindness towards her. He was willing to go out of his way for her, even drinking a bowl of something so disgusting it made him nauseous, just to encourage her to eat more healthful supplements...

"Eva Miller, what are you thinking?" She shook her head. Could she possibly overlook that he is a rapist and a liar just because of his kindness? Would she suffer so much if it weren’t for him?

Maybe... perhaps Oliver Johnson avoiding her was also related to him.

As she ruminated, Luke Land had already brought out the water.

"It’s warm water."

Eva Miller let out a cold laugh, took the cup, and then slowly loosened her grip, the glass shattering in response.

Luke Land looked a bit startled, but quickly, he composed himself.

"What? Not thirsty anymore?"

"Luke Land, I don’t ever want to accept your charity-like kindness again."

Charity? Was his sincere effort nothing but charity in her eyes?

"Think whatever you want." He stopped speaking, knowing every word she said now might push him beyond self-control, and he couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t lose his temper with her.

"You’re just feeling guilty! You treat me well because you did me wrong!"

"Did you wrong?" He let out a sharp laugh, curled the corner of his mouth, and enunciated each word, "Sleeping with you, I don’t see it as doing you wrong. Marrying you, and having you bear a child, likewise, I don’t see as wronging you."
