Chapter 703: Chapter 701: Phoenix Crown and Red Robe [3rd Update]

James Bennett listened to Christopher Scott and Liam Spencer’s objections, looked seriously at Sophia Bennett, and said, "Sophia, we all understand that you have a good relationship with Maya Spencer and want to have a wedding together. But this would make your wedding too rushed, and if anything goes wrong, it would be a lifetime regret."

James Bennett’s words hit the nail on the head; twenty days is too hurried to prepare.

Following this, Sophia’s parents also persuaded her, urging her not to be reckless and to get married only when well-prepared, as there was no rush since she wasn’t pregnant.

Helplessly, Sophia had to accept everyone’s advice, postpone the wedding, and wait until everything was ready.

After lunch, Mother Bennett pulled Maya Spencer and Sophia Bennett to play mahjong. Liam Spencer watched Maya’s frustrated expression and laughed to himself, as he loved to see her flustered and wanting to cuddle but unable to.

However, what frustrated Maya the most was not being unable to go home but the others’ mahjong skills. She could beat them with her eyes closed, which was too uninteresting.

She couldn’t help but think of Asher Norton’s wife, rumored to be a mahjong master! She could play a few rounds with her.

Thinking of this, Maya eagerly wanted to gather Xavier Graham, Isabella Moore, and Liam Spencer for a game, but she had to play cards with Mother Bennett first.

It wasn’t until ten o’clock at night that Maya was finally free to go home, exhausted.

In the car, Maya fell asleep from exhaustion.

Liam Spencer stopped the car by the roadside and gently lowered the seat to make her sleep more comfortably.

He held Maya’s small hand tightly, feeling that she had lost weight recently, sometimes upset about his bet with Lillian Morris, sometimes running to London to find him, and not resting well upon her return. Liam felt distressed.

So, when they got home, Liam didn’t wake Maya up but gently carried her to the bedroom, placed her on the bed, and didn’t even wake her for a bath, letting her rest first.

In her dream, Maya dreamt of getting married, felt very happy, and dreamt of having a baby with Liam, a very well-behaved baby. So, in her deep sleep, there was a slight smile on her lips.

Liam saw the smile at the corner of her mouth, gently brushed her nose with his hand, and whispered, "What sweet dream are you having, my little thing, smiling so happily?"

Maya smiled in her sleep, and Liam accompanied her with a smile, too. Her smile made her look radiant and him feel very comfortable, very at ease, with a sense of security. He wanted to watch her like this for a lifetime.

The delightful days filled Maya’s life with sunshine. Every day she stuck to Liam, either accompanying him at work or discussing wedding preparations with him.

As the wedding day approached, Maya felt a bit nervous. It was the biggest event of her life. She was both excited and a little scared of making a fool of herself.

Until three days before the wedding, Maya was called back by Mother Bennett to James Bennett’s villa, to stay at home obediently. She couldn’t see Liam until the wedding day.

This worried Maya; she couldn’t imagine her life without him for three days. She tried sneaking out several times to find Liam, only to be stopped by Mother Bennett.

"Maya, don’t be reckless. It’s inauspicious. Liam will come to pick you up tomorrow. What are you worried about?" Mother Bennett was amused by Maya’s clinginess.

In Liam’s household, he wasn’t faring much better, missing Maya so much that he wished there were 25 hours in a day to spend with her via video.

They both waited impatiently for the night before the wedding.

That night, Henry Reid’s son helped Liam make the bed for the wedding night, wishing them a quick child.

Ella Turner and Sophia both lay beside Maya, teasing her all night, coaxing her to talk about how she and Liam were usually affectionate. Of course, the girls talked about married life and having children.

In short, whether in Liam and Maya’s new wedding apartment or in James Bennett or Aron Hanson’s houses, every corner was filled with celebratory cheer.

Liam chose to set up the new home in an apartment because he wanted a little nest for him and Maya, a place for just the two of them to enjoy their time together. He had even planned a month off from work to dote on Maya, swearing to pamper her so much she couldn’t get out of bed. He had also learned to cook, intending to personally make her meals after marriage.

No choice there, he’s just that considerate. His hobby is pampering his wife!

If Maya gets pregnant, they could then move back to the villa to make it easier for helpers to take care of them.

At 5 a.m. the next morning, Maya got out of bed, repeatedly asking Sophia how much longer it would take for Liam to come pick her up.

Sophia was exasperated, telling her to focus on making herself beautiful and to wait for Liam to come get her.

In Maya’s study, she was surrounded by several makeup artists.

In the bedroom, Maya’s ornate wedding gown was hanging beautifully, breathtakingly so.

Liam and Maya’s wedding outfits had been specially handcrafted by a famous old tailor, each stitch sewn personally. The golden patterns on the attire were made with gold thread.

Liam had prepared this wedding attire half a year in advance; a dozen elderly tailors took a whole year to complete it.

Ever since getting engaged, he had been planning this.

Even though Maya thought it was a fake engagement at the time, Liam took it seriously and had been contemplating marriage ever since.

After all this time, the wedding attire finally came into the light.

Sophia and Ella surrounded Maya, stunned by the beauty of her wedding dress, unable to imagine how beautiful she would be wearing it.

"Young Madam, let’s change into the clothes first, then do the makeup," the makeup artist said as they grabbed the restless Maya.

Maya pouted as she rose from the chair, letting them dress her up.

Twenty minutes later, the wedding attire was finally on, and everyone in the study was completely stunned. Maya’s fair complexion complemented the bright red perfectly.

Maya looked at the stunning self in the mirror, eager to see Liam, impatient for him to admire her beauty.

Maya had always been beautiful, but in this wedding attire, she looked like an ethereal fairy, feeling like the beauty from a painting—strictly speaking, even more beautiful than any painting.

"Young Madam, you’re breathtaking." The makeup artist swallowed a gulp of water, unable to find the words to describe Maya’s stunning beauty.

Maya sat gently on the chair behind her, pursing her lips with a smile, daydreaming about how Liam would drool over her.

Remembering how Liam once had a nosebleed from seeing her, she chuckled to herself, thinking, "Third Brother is sure to have a nosebleed again today."

"Maya, you’re too beautiful; Principal Reid will go crazy." Ella regretted not having a traditional Chinese wedding, missing out on wearing such a garment.

"Maya, I’ve decided, I want a traditional Chinese wedding too. I want to wear such a beautiful dress," Sophia decided, inspired by Maya’s stunning appearance.
