Chapter 383: Chapter 379: Barbarian Dragon Bow
Bound by a Blood Oath, Mo Yanwu had become a sharp weapon in Lin Hao’s hands. If anything went wrong, Mo Yanwu might be forced to make a move.
Of course, that possibility was minuscule.
After all, no one outside knew that Mo Yanwu was now Lin Hao’s man.
However, things were always subject to change. Just as in the past, Yunxi could never have imagined everything that would happen after Lin Hao entered the Mo Yun Kingdom.
"Little maid, come massage this young master’s shoulders." Lin Hao’s voice sounded by Yunxi’s ear again.
Yunxi flared up in annoyance. "I am not a little maid!"
"Mm, you’re right. You’re not small at all. You’re a *big* maid," Lin Hao replied, recalling the scene he’d witnessed outside the hot spring.
Yunxi, of course, understood the double meaning in his words. Her pretty face flushed red with anger, and her chest heaved.
A pity Lin Hao couldn’t see such a lovely sight.
At that moment, Lin Hao looked up, his gaze fixed on the main gate as if he were watching a show.
Where Lin Hao’s gaze landed, Mo Yanwu was hovering in mid-air.
"Everyone, I, Mo, have been neglectful. Not only did I allow Lin Hao to escape, but I also suffered heavy internal injuries. I have spent the last few days recuperating." Mo Yanwu’s voice carried clearly to Lin Hao’s ears.
"Master Mo, will you allow me to enter your estate to investigate their whereabouts?" That was Marquis Mo’s voice.
"Does the Crown Prince truly believe I am harboring Lin Hao?" Mo Yanwu’s voice held a note of displeasure.
"Whether you’re harboring him or not will be clear with a single look," Marquis Mo replied to Mo Yanwu.
He was the Crown Prince of the Mo Yun Kingdom; naturally, he would not back down before Mo Yanwu.
"If you can get in, then by all means, look around as you please." Mo Yanwu’s voice was utterly calm, devoid of any respect.
It was one thing for Marquis Mo to speak to Mo Yanwu that way, but for Mo Yanwu to reply in kind was an act of insubordination.
"Master, to speak so before the Crown Prince is rather inappropriate, is it not?" Mo Yantian’s voice rang out at that moment.
His timing was perfect, but his words were not harsh. After all, within Flame Heaven City, he had to show some deference to Mo Yanwu.
"That divine tortoise of Lin Hao’s is far too powerful. It tore a hole in my estate that I still haven’t been able to repair. If there is nothing else, I must take my leave," Mo Yanwu said to Marquis Mo, completely ignoring Mo Yantian’s words.
"Are you saying Lin Hao has escaped your estate, Master?" Marquis Mo’s tone was hostile.
A strange light flickered in Mo Yanwu’s eyes before he answered, "That’s right. If I don’t seal the breach in the estate, he might just come back."
"What do you mean by that, Master?"
"He discovered that my estate’s defenses are formidable and wanted to seize it to advance his cultivation. Fortunately, I managed to scare him off. But I don’t believe he will let the matter rest," Mo Yanwu replied.
Although he hadn’t known Lin Hao for long, Marquis Mo was familiar with his character. What Mo Yanwu said was likely to become true.
"In that case, Master, you have all the more reason to open the gates and let us help you repair the breach." Marquis Mo was still not ready to give up, determined to set foot in the estate.
"This estate has been passed down for millennia. You cannot repair it." After saying this, Mo Yanwu floated back and withdrew.
In his eyes, the Crown Prince, the City Lord, and the contingent of Martial Artists were nothing.
"That Mo Yanwu is unbelievably arrogant!" Mo Yantian said hatefully to Marquis Mo as Mo Yanwu’s figure vanished.
"Mo Yantian, contact the cities ahead immediately and track Lin Hao’s movements. If he doesn’t surface, have all the experts from the surrounding cities rush to Flame Heaven City!" Marquis Mo stared at the estate before him, issuing the command in a grim voice.
"Yes, sir!" Mo Yantian did not dare to delay, accepting the order and departing at once.
"Moshan, take these men and surround this estate completely. Don’t let a single fly escape! If Mo Yanwu dares to pull any tricks on me, I’ll see to it he dies without a burial ground!" A raging fire burned in Marquis Mo’s eyes.
Just as Moshan was about to assent, the tightly shut main gate suddenly swung open, and Mo Yanwu appeared in the doorway.
"My estate really is short-handed for repairing the breach. Your Highness, how about I borrow a few of your men?" Mo Yanwu said to Marquis Mo with a smile.
A glint flashed in Marquis Mo’s eyes. "You may," he said in a low voice. frёewebηovel.cѳm
’He would see just what kind of game Mo Yanwu was playing.’
"You, you, you, and you. Come in." Mo Yanwu pointed to four men in succession, one of whom was, surprisingly, Moshan.
Marquis Mo’s eyes narrowed. "How long will you need them?"
"A day at most."
"I’ll give you half a day. When the time is up, send them back out, completely unharmed. If I don’t see them, you will bear the consequences."
Marquis Mo cared little for the others, but Moshan was his right-hand man. He couldn’t afford for anything to happen to him.
Though he doubted Mo Yanwu had the gall, Marquis Mo always prepared for the worst.
Mo Yanwu pondered for a moment before nodding.
The four men Mo Yanwu had named, Moshan among them, walked toward the gate together. Once they were inside, the gate shut tightly once more.
"Mo Yanwu, I hope you’re a smart man. This is Mo Yun Kingdom territory, after all," Marquis Mo muttered to himself.
Unfortunately for him, his wish would not be granted. The moment Mo Yanwu closed the door, he began to act the fool.
"Master Mo, where is the breach in your estate?" one of the Martial Artists asked excitedly after they entered, looking around.
The other two Martial Artists, aside from Moshan, wore the same excited expressions.
Not even the City Lord Mo Yantian was qualified to enter this estate; its last guests had been two great ancestors from the royal capital. The three of them were merely at the First Layer of the Soul Gathering Realm. To be able to enter this estate was, in their eyes, an absolute, supreme honor. How could they not be thrilled?
A cryptic smile touched Mo Yanwu’s lips. He pointed ahead and said, "Just follow this path. You’ll see it after you round the corner."
"Great, we’ll head over right now. After you, my lord." The three men, faces alight with excitement, were about to set off when they remembered Moshan and quickly stopped to let him pass first.
Unlike the other three’s excitement, Moshan had been covertly observing Mo Yanwu ever since they entered the estate. He had caught the look on Mo Yanwu’s face just now.
A terrible premonition began to rise in Moshan’s heart.
That premonition became a reality the moment he and the other three rounded the corner Mo Yanwu had mentioned.
"Lin... Lin Hao!" Just as Moshan stared ahead, his pupils contracting sharply, one of the three men shrieked in shock.
There, in a pavilion ahead, were two rattan chairs. Lounging on them were a man and a tortoise—none other than Lin Hao and his mount!
Moshan’s gaze lingered on Lin Hao for only a moment before shifting to the person behind him. His eyes filled with utter disbelief.
The woman he saw as a fairy, Princess Yunxi, was actually massaging Lin Hao’s shoulders!
Moshan’s mind went blank.
After that brief moment of shock, Moshan exploded with rage.
The next moment, the Barbarian Dragon Bow appeared in his hand.
Moshan swiped his hand across the bowstring, dyeing it red with his blood. The Barbarian Dragon Bow began to hum and vibrate as if it were coming to life.
