The Redfiend: whose bones had been crushed: stood as the steam hissing from their back ceased. Their ribs had returned, although, these were the tendrils of the Brood Embryo rather than bone. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Then, they took a knee and lowered their head, owing their life to Frost as their hands trembled in their newfound power.
“You received my gift well. How do you feel?” free𝑤ebnovel.com
“I-Incredible, honored Amalgam.”
“You’ve also learned of my true name. Has it also enhanced your mind?”
“I can sense your very will vibrating through my veins. Your medicine… this… this…”
“Ah, you mean my Prescription. Yes. That makes sense. You’re connected to my Strings.”
The Prescription was Frost’s Will manifested as a Commandment to those attached to her Strings. Denizens were no different and were in fact the perfect candidates to receive her Commandments.
[Stringed Theory] revealed a red-blue strand tethering Frost to the Redfiend.
“Your role will be to protect the villagers. You will also assist Cognita. However, you will have some additional help.”
Frost dragged the corpses of several Redfiends from the Isolation Sphere, and then, she began weaving their blood together to create new Denizens.
She had several main methods to create Denizens.
The first relied on her own blood and Mana. This resulted in Denizens that closely resembled her.
The second utilized living hosts to create either perfect mimics, or to use the host as a genetic seedbed for a type of Denizen.
An example was the Cuddling Thrombosis, which used a Vampire’s inherent impurity to create a more sinister version of their race’s illness, often by combining with another Sin.
Finally, she could create Denizens using the deceased to create monstrosities that barely resembled their host. This resulted in more standardized Sins of Treachery which, for Frost, carried an eerie resemblance to Anids.
What formed was a creature called the Splendor Guard; a dark, crystal Anid-like entity with exposed flesh where the legs connected it to the body. Flesh was also exposed along cracks in its armor. They seemed to originate from a golden eye embedded in the center of its chest.

Sins began with Dregs, and moved up to Consanguinity, and eventually the Maximus. It was only an Effigy. The Consanguinity variant was considerably more powerful, but she would rather create them in the Capital where they will be needed, rather than here.
Additionally, there was not nearly enough biomass to create Consanguinities.
The dead rose until there was no longer any biological material left to create anymore. Eight of these three-meter hulking beasts unfurled their eyes like petals and licked the air that Frost breathed.

“This will be plenty of protection. Even a Moon will find their armor difficult to penetrate. But that is why their weak spots are exposed. An unfortunate design flaw. They’ll take care of the villagers.”
“As you wish… Glorious Amalgam…”
In truth, Frost did not want this person to live. But she enjoyed experimenting with her powers, so it would be a waste to kill them off. Frost also just noticed that the squabbles behind her had abruptly ceased.
A suffocating tension strangled the throats of the villagers as their eyes fell onto the imposing Anids standing guard behind Frost. It was unfortunate that they looked so hideous, and that the Denizens created by her own material looked adorable.
She mused on this as the villagers awaited Frost to speak with bated breath. Were they prey? What was Frost going to do with them?
“Treachery, in the end, is a façade, isn’t it?”
She snapped her fingers and issued a command to her Splendor Aberrant. Then, she plucked orbs of Light and implanted them deep into their chest cavities.
Immediately, their body began hissing with superheated steam. The crystal legs rolled inwards as the eye popped, releasing a foul liquid that began melting its body until its innards spilled.
Its tentacle-tongue split into multiple smaller ones and lapped it back up, squishing it as their bodies shrunk to a two-and-a-half-meter size. The hardened shell became softer as it assumed the silhouette of a female human.
Then, it formed long hair, and their facial structure then transformed into something far less intimidating.
They became supersized versions of Frost. Their heads twitched unnaturally as they stared unblinkingly at Frost. Tiny, fang-like mandibles hung from their mouths, giving them an oddly adorable look.
But of course, looks were deceiving. Within that husk was a nightmare beyond reckoning. They were equipped with a trench coat version of Frost’s apparel, with golden and red lines running through like veins. This was made from carapace. If they sustained enough damage, then, they’d be forced to reveal their true bodies. Atop their head was a long-brimmed funeral hat with a suspiciously sharp edge.
They had long hair, with bangs covering a single eye. The visible eye was a beautiful yet intimidating gold, with the hidden one being a deep, blood red. Their faces were expressionless, and unlike the Redfiend, they did not bow to Frost: because she did not order them to.
“Now they look like me. Aren’t they beautiful?”

They were Mega Frosts.
“Be not afraid, villagers. They’ll keep you safe. There is no need to leave your homes either. Believe me, the Redfiends will be cut down before you even realize they are here.”
To prove this, one of the Splendor Aberrant grabbed a nearby boulder and mounted it onto their shoulders. Eyes moved to the skies as the villagers flinched to the sound of thunder. That was the sound of the boulder splitting in half.
It must have been more than ten tons, yet it was carried and broken effortlessly in the Splendor Aberrant’s bare hands.
“Please, trust me. Trust in my sisters. They’ll keep you safe. You have my word.”
It was not like they had a choice. The only person in the village who accepted her help wholeheartedly was the young girl. Miniature earthquakes accompanied each step of the Splendor Aberrant as they marched towards the villagers.
They seemed to move in slow motion, but this was more than made up for with their incredibly long strides. Biological weapons were now a part of Frost’s arsenal, and she could not wait to see how they’d eventually flourish with Ignis’ inventions.
“Master. I’ve finished acquiring the knowledge from these ones. I shall enlighten you with my findings. May I first hear my duties in the Larin Empire?”
“You are to protect these villagers until the Larin Empire stabilizes. That may be until the end of this bloody war.”
“As you wish. Please do call upon me when you require blood to be extracted from stone.”
Cognita gave her a firm nod and joined the Splendor Aberrants, which moved to patrol the village outskirts, as well as make repairs to rundown homes. They were quite robust despite being biological weapons.
“Redfiend. Protect these villagers with your life.”
“Y-Yes… Amalgam… Even if it kills me.”
The figure marched off after kissing the ground beneath Frost’s feet. It was almost comedic how quickly their tune had changed. She couldn’t tell whether it was out of reverence or fear. Either way, they were unlikely to betray Frost. After all, her Prescriptions were absolute. And if they turned their back on her, then she could always sever their connection.
Frost finally set her sights in the direction of the Larin Empire Capital. One of the places where Aster had marked on the map was in the Larin Empire. Whether this was a Main Sequence Corrupted, or the Advent of Desire itself will be revealed in due time.

Frost left the villagers with enough food to last for weeks, as well as her blood which she had diluted in their water supply. She disappeared as quickly as she first appeared in the village, and she smiled back at the little girl who waved her goodbye.
[Shortform Warp] and her immense speed would lead her to the Capital in a matter of hours.
But unbeknownst to her was that she was not the only one due to arrive at the Larin Empire’s Capital.
