Chapter 375 (1): White Dragon of Life x Black Dragon of Hell
The massive dragon wings unfurled in the sky, obscuring the sun like looming dark clouds, plunging the world into darkness. Overwhelming aura compressed space with audible rumbles, thickening the air. Rolling mana tides manifested a deep-blue ocean at such a massive size that it was beyond what Pope Senna of the inner world was capable of.
Senna wasn’t fighting alone. Wayne was inside her.
The projection of the deep blue with the four-colored elemental particles saturating it was so fantastically beautiful that Ludwig felt his heart plunge into ice. The great dragon before him was around three hundred meters long, with white Life Armor covering its green body.
Elemental Mantra had transformed into a white horn that was dozens of meters long, protruding from the center of the dragon’s head. The four-colored lights of the elements roamed the seams of the armor, pulsing with energy waves. Every time the dragon breathed, powerful currents rippled.
The perfect great dragon’s eyes were cold and brilliant like two stars, exuding a fierce dignity. The gaze inspired awe and fear in the souls and prevented thoughts from acting up. The dragon breathed out volatile waves of flames that stirred the air and created intangible air blades that cut the surrounding clouds into pieces.
The inherent oppressive power coming from the dragon’s entrance alone made Ludwig’s face darken. He sensed the power of a demigod from the great dragon. Just like him, the dragon wasn’t a demigod, yet had acquired the power of one, dominating regular legendary mages.
“How is this possible...?” Ludwig’s face twisted. A divine artifact’s power was undeniable. The Elemental Mantra had granted Senna the power of a demigod, which was natural. The question was why she was qualified to wield it.
A chosen knight could grant their squire their power, but the gifted power was limited. Senna’s transformation far exceeded that limit.
Ludwig had been demonstrating his might a moment ago, and right after, Senna displayed the same level of power. It felt like a slap to his self-satisfied face. The blow to his ego was undoubtedly painful.
The Seven Deadly Sins acted up in response. Pride could not tolerate the humiliation, Envy could not accept reality, Wrath expressed fury, Sloth sought gain without effort, Greed reared up with cravings, Gluttony wished to devour, and Lust... Well, Lust found the dragon beautiful.
The horn of Elemental Mantra on the great dragon’s head pulsed with the energy of Life, recombining the four elements and matter before infusing it. Lifelike dragon heads were thus conjured.
Taking concrete shapes, the dozens of dragon heads roared powerfully, gathering breaths of different energies in their mouths.
Powerful mana filled the substance, and Elemental Mantra acted as the lever to apply force to reality. Following symmetrical ripples, a magnificent scene unfolded.
It would take a long time for Senna to study the draconic magic on her own, and because she was different from her other self in a different environment, the way they projected their power differed.
Wayne, however, had brought her a solution from the inner world and allowed her to copy her other self’s homework. With him providing support from inside her, she was able to wield Elemental Mantra freely and unleash power greater than that of Pope Senna of the inner world.
Radiant magic circles stretched and filled half of the sky. Suddenly, the world seemed to sink. An incredible might weighed down on space itself and rippled outward. Dozens of dragon heads turned toward the vitality domain below, attacking at full power without aiming at Ludwig. Orbs of energy shot out in lightning-fast beams through the magic circles, creating a dense barrage of cascading attacks that covered the sky and earth.
The colorful lights distorted and stirred space itself, inducing spatial collapses. The vitality domain was split into crisscrossing abysses.
Ludwig sensed the terrifying energy waves. Unwilling to take the assault lying down, he raised his hands and commanded the eight black vines to soar into the sky.
The light beams decimated the massive vines. As dark pieces fell from the sky, more black vines soared.
Senna’s power came from Wayne and Elemental Mantra. Cycling the four elements and plundering from the vitality domain gave her an almost infinite supply of energy. Ludwig, on the other hand, relied on himself and the information contained in the Philosopher’s Stone. His Nature was a decayed one tainted by the Seven Deadly Sins of Hell, symbolizing the end of life.
The two tremendous powers collided, and Senna’s AOE bombardment came out absolutely on top. As her thoughts resonated with Wayne’s, their mastery over the draconic magic deepened, and their consecutive attacks became ever more powerful.
Dozens of light beams came crashing down, disintegrating any obstacles into nothingness. With Elemental Mantra extracting energy, the four-colored screen of light was directed back to the ocean of elements, converted into Senna’s energy to further enhance the destructive power of the draconic magic.
Ludwig’s scalp tingled. He had never imagined that a great dragon would adopt such a fighting style. Rather than utilizing her powerful physique, she relied on pure mana output. However, she was incredibly strong.
In the distance, the insects who had avoided the fight couldn’t bear it anymore.
“Is the woman insane? Wouldn’t she just kill us as well on a whim?”
“Of course she will. Without us, she will be a pope monopolizing all authority. Were I in her place, I would accidentally kill my allies in friendly fire.”
Weaving, Baker, and McCarey all found Senna untrustworthy. Seeing that Ludwig was doing everything to fight the great dragon and couldn’t spare the effort to kill them, they demanded to put more distance between them and the battlefield.
Garvin stayed silent with a dark expression. His chivalrous spirit was showing an allergic response to these snakes.
They were too close to the bombing site. Weaving, Baker, and McCarey fled the fastest. They stuck together and combined their vitality fields to forge a path through Ludwig’s vitality domain. Seeing that, Tubert immediately chased after them. There was power in numbers, as they said.
When his life was on the line, Tubert stopped acting altogether, abandoning Desiree and running after the three Oracle Reverends.
Desiree turned to Garvin pitifully. Exasperated, he said in a booming voice, “Stay behind me and don’t do anything unnecessary.”
He gripped his knightly sword, refusing to retreat now. He wanted to contribute his power.
A silver lining was showing in the clouds. Senna was overpowering Ludwig. However, Ludwig had been the pope for a hundred years, with a Philosopher’s Stone on top of his formidable power. Garvin was worried that he might have more cards up his sleeve and decided to stay vigilant.
Rumble!!
Dozens of dragon heads left intersecting bottomless chasms on the ground with their energy breaths, creating an incredibly complex magic circle. It was part of the combo that Pope Senna of the inner world had planned to use, but before she could do it, Wayne had erased her physical form, preventing her from showcasing her draconic magic to the world.
Wayne had transferred the record to Senna, letting her learn from it. She had trouble picking the trick up at first, but quickly got the hang of it.
After a flash of radiant light, formidable shockwaves unleashed their astounding might. Space fell into chaos under the impact, and the vitality domain seemed on the verge of falling apart.
Damn it!
Ludwig, within his domain, had been resisting the energy beams and had neglected the changes happening below. Now that the magic circle had activated, unleashing a destructive attack, he immediately used the Philosopher’s Stone to have the space that the church inhabited take the attack.
The eight tentacles spiraled toward the ground, creating a fort around Ludwig. This was his strongest defense!
A massive light beam shot into the sky, changing colors unpredictably. One moment, it was blazing red like fire, and the next, it became a deep black. The stunning spectacle was a result of the frightening energy waves that the light beam contained.
The stirring space around the pillar of light hissed like boiling water. Tubert and the Oracle High Reverends felt their hearts thump and their thoughts shudder, foreseeing the decimation of this space. The power of legendary mages was insignificant at this moment. They forged a vitality field together and ran even faster.
Huuum!
The light pillar vanished in an instant, and the dreadful energy became nothing. There was no earth-shattering explosion. The only thing erased was the massive magic circle on the ground, a majority of the vitality domain, and the space that it covered... nothing more!
Within the collapsing space, black currents whipped out chaotically. The tentacles of currents stretched and hooked the spatial ramparts in the area, shrinking the distance between heaven and earth and compressing darkness until it turned into a black sphere.
Pop!
The sphere burst, and space became whole again.
The vitality domain had shattered, and the dark abyss left in the aftermath was too deep for its depth to be perceived. Only the shape of the magic circle remained, while most of the rotten black vines had been erased. The remaining parts were of no use. They had rotted into sludge.
A true vitality domain wouldn’t have just devoured what was inside. It was incredibly corruptive, allowing a demigod to create vassals at will. A full-power attack with no concern for consequences would’ve reshaped Tubert, Garvin, and everyone else. The fact that they hadn’t changed meant that Ludwig’s vitality domain was merely an empty shell, lacking a solid foundation.
Garvin stood at the edge of the abyss. Behind him, Desiree had squeezed her eyes shut. The battle was way too advanced, breaking the Void with every move. A newbie like her had no place in it.
Garvin looked up and saw two behemoths. One was a great white dragon big enough to cover up the sky, while the other...
A black sphere hovered in the air with charred vines peeling away, scattering into ashes. The sounds of metal scraping echoed from the inside.
Splatter!
Once the ashes had all scattered, interwoven black chains were revealed, formed by the Divine Comedy of the Seven Deadly Sins. The return of the Divine Comedy brought Ludwig back into Garvin’s view in an entirely different form: a black great dragon over two hundred and fifty meters long, with a strong physique, powerful and agile limbs, a massive head, and a sharp horn. The horn gleamed with a metallic luster, cold and fierce like it could break through all obstacles.
The black dragon’s eyes were crimson. It breathed out blazing flames from its nostrils. Every beat of its wings stirred up powerful gales, which morphed into heavy chains of sins.
Its scales were ink-black and emitted a thick sulfuric smell. Hardened like metal, the scales shimmered like stars embedded in the night sky.
“A great dragon...” Wayne was caught off guard. “To my knowledge, the only demon lord related to dragons is the Lord of Wrath. Did Prussia create a dragon to act as a demon vessel?”
As expected of Prussia, they were unrivaled in developing fringe technology. It fit Wayne’s stereotypical image of them.
Roooar!!
One mountain could not accommodate two dragons, not even when they were male and female. The female dragon was already claimed and only went into heat for Wayne. The pitch-black great dragon felt like a taunt to Senna. She flapped her wings powerfully and generated strong currents, charging ahead with the forty-meter-long horn of Elemental Mantra.
Equally furious, the black dragon confronted her head-on.
Ludwig hadn’t taken the last step to demigodhood. While he could break through the bottleneck, he would need a quiet environment. He wasn’t the protagonist of the story and could never get a power-up without preparation. To save his life, he had chosen to fully integrate his demon blood.
Good news, the Lord of Wrath had made a genuine investment with powerful dragon blood. Bad news, he had become a demon before entering Hell, thus risking the intervention of the Church of Heavenly Father.
This was completely at odds with Ludwig’s plan. He looked at the white dragon before him, the Seven Deadly Sins overtaking his mind. His wrath, envy, and other emotions threatened to drive him to madness.
Boom!!!
