Chapter 205: Al’s Evening Room Scandal

The sky had already turned dark by the time Al reached the final intersection leading into the Virellano residential district.

He got off after reminding Sebastian about his assignment, then headed home with sweat soaking the back of his shirt and collar.

Right now, there was only one thing he wanted— a warm bath and dreamless sleep.

As he passed through the yard, his eyes briefly landed on his private construction project.

The basic structure was already standing tall. Everything had progressed exactly according to plan.

Honestly, even he was impressed by how fast the work was moving.

And that meant... Fani no longer needed to stay up all night guarding the place.

From the other side of the yard, loud training shouts echoed nonstop. Uncle Acok still hadn’t finished training the elite bodyguards even at this hour.

Among them, Dedy was sitting on the ground looking completely drained, apparently having just finished a brutal sparring session with Vianna.

Meanwhile, Vianna herself had already rushed back inside, seemingly in a hurry for something else.

"Dedy... so he’s fully recovered already," Al muttered briefly.

Then he entered the house.

Inside, the atmosphere was lively.

Sandra, Sarah, Clarista, and the recently returned Vianna were all gathered around, celebrating David’s success in finishing his exams.

There was laughter.

Food.

Praise.

And all kinds of gifts.

Not a single one of them noticed Al standing there.

No congratulations.

No one even looked his way.

Maybe they forgot he had just finished the exact same national exams. Or maybe Al’s naturally silent presence simply made it hard for people to notice him unless he wanted them to.

Only they knew.

Only David managed to catch a glimpse of him from the corner of his eye—

but he deliberately ignored it, clearly not wanting the others to realize Al had returned. A faint sneer even appeared on his face.

Al couldn’t care less. If anything, he felt lucky.

At least there wouldn’t be another annoying family agenda ruining his lazy time tonight.

So he simply walked past all of them—quiet, calm, and as lazy-looking as ever, heading straight toward his room.

---

Al’s room.

Just as he was about to take off his shirt, Al suddenly sensed a dark aura beneath the blanket.

His eyes narrowed instantly.

A magic circle formed almost reflexively in his hand as black flames ignited across his palm.

But the moment he pulled back the blanket, he stopped immediately.

Someone was sleeping soundly on his bed.

Fani.

Her breathing was steady. Her hair was messy. Her eyes were tightly shut.

"Huh... Fani? Why is she here?" Al muttered in confusion.

Still, he didn’t wake her up. After thinking about it for a second...

"Hmph... looks like the girl’s completely exhausted after all this. Yeah... one of the downsides of using magical energy. That kind of fatigue hurts way worse than normal exhaustion."

He simply shook his head.

"Whatever. At least her patrol duty’s over for tonight."

Al pulled the blanket back over her and let her continue sleeping peacefully before heading into the bathroom for a shower.

Minutes later...

Fani’s phone started ringing.

The vibration slowly woke her up.

Clarista’s name appeared on the screen.

Fani blinked awake sluggishly, letting her consciousness settle before staring at the already missed call.

"Hmph? Why’s Clarista calling...? Why didn’t she just wake me up directly?"

But the moment she looked around the room—which felt completely different from Clarista’s room that always carried that sharp chemical scent—

she froze.

This wasn’t the same room.

She rubbed her eyes, then smacked her own forehead as the memory of what happened earlier came flooding back.

"Crap... I was so exhausted I walked into the wrong room."

"And this should be... Boss’s room?"

She quickly stood up and stretched her body, wanting to leave before Al came back.

Unfortunately... at that exact moment, the bathroom door opened.

Al walked out wearing nothing but a towel. His body was still wet. Bare chest exposed. Water dripping from his hair.

Fani looked up, completely unaware that he had already returned home, and instantly froze.

Her eyes widened. She almost screamed, but immediately covered her own mouth.

"B-B-Boss?! W-What are you doing?!"

She shut her eyes as fast as possible and turned away, panicking incoherently.

Al merely raised an eyebrow. Completely unfazed, he casually walked toward the wardrobe, opened it, and started looking for clothes like none of this was worth panicking over.

"Shouldn’t I be the one asking that?" he muttered lazily.

"Why are you in my room?"

Fani was still stiff as a statue.

"Ah... right, right... This is your room."

"I-It’s... just... I didn’t mean to... I... entered the wrong room..." she stammered helplessly.

Al simply sighed and pulled a shirt over his head.

"Whatever," he said without even looking at her.

"I don’t know how much longer you plan to enjoy the view of my body... but if you’re done, you should probably leave."

Fani felt slightly offended, but the entire situation had already made her too flustered to think properly. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

So she chose to flee immediately. She didn’t even remember to tidy up the bed she had slept on.

"Ah! R-Right! I’m leaving! Sorry, Boss! Sorry!"

She hurriedly stepped out.

But the moment the door opened—

Outside, Clarista happened to be passing by on her way back to her own room. She stopped the instant she saw Fani coming out of Al’s room.

Her sharp eyes narrowed slightly. Her expression remained calm, though there was obvious surprise in them.

"Fani?" she said.

"Wait... what are you doing here?"

Her gaze shifted toward the room behind her.

"Isn’t this... Al’s room?"

Fani froze once again.

The exact situation she had been hoping to avoid had finally happened.

"Eh... um... that... I was just..." she stammered helplessly.

But then her quick brain finally came up with an excuse.

"Ah! I saw Al came home earlier... so I stopped by to congratulate him, hehe... he..."

Her laugh sounded painfully nervous as cold sweat formed on her temples.

"Anyway... that’s all. I’m heading to your room first to change clothes."

And before Clarista could even respond, Fani immediately fled.

Clarista simply stood there blankly, confused.

"Huh? Al’s already home? Why didn’t anyone see him? Didn’t he pass through the living room? We were waiting for him too, actually."

So she peeked through the slightly open gap in Al’s door—

And the sight inside instantly shocked her.

Even her rational mind refused to process what she was seeing.

Al still hadn’t fully finished dressing. The bed was messy. And now that she thought about it, Fani’s appearance had looked pretty disheveled too.

Clarista could only cover her mouth before she accidentally screamed.

Inside her head, hundreds of possibilities exploded at once.

"Ha...? Don’t tell me... they..." she whispered.

"No... way..."

Weird thoughts immediately started filling her mind.

Too uncomfortable to confront Al directly, Clarista instead decided to interrogate Fani and quickly rushed toward her own room.

---

Inside Clarista’s room, Fani had finally started calming down.

Calm... until the door suddenly opened and Clarista walked in, greeting her with an unusually sharp stare.

Without wasting a second—

"Fani," she said flatly.

"What exactly did you do with Al? Why was your appearance all messy, why was Al’s bed a disaster, and why... was Al half-naked when you came out?"

Fani’s face instantly turned pale.

"Eh?! No! No! It’s not like that! You misunderstood! That could never happen!"

She immediately wanted to explain the truth.

But before she could even start—

The still-unclosed door revealed someone standing outside.

David.

He stood there in shock... before his expression slowly darkened.

T-They actually did it?!

Anger. Jealousy. Countless negative emotions twisted together inside him.

His sharp gaze locked onto Fani.

So... my suspicions really were true..."

A bitter laugh escaped his mouth.

...Haha... it was true.

His expression darkened further as he glanced toward Al’s room not far away.

That orphan... really plans to take everything from me.

Without even realizing it, dark energy began leaking from his body. Dense. Heavy. Disturbing.

Fani immediately noticed it—

And for a vampire like her, the dark essence within that energy felt unbelievably tempting.

Almost intoxicating.

Before she realized it, her pupils had turned red. Her fangs slowly emerged. Her vampiric traits began surfacing instinctively as she unconsciously stepped toward David—

Desperately wanting to get closer to him.

Luckily, she only managed to take a single step.

"Hey, David."

Clarista’s voice instantly snapped both of them back to reality.

Fani jolted violently and almost lost her balance, barely catching herself against the wall.

What... just happened to me? she wondered inwardly.

Meanwhile, David also snapped out of it slightly.

His gaze remained dark as he stared toward Al’s room for another moment before slowly turning back around, his expression instantly softening into a warm smile.

"Ah... Fourth Sister. Mom asked me to tell you tonight’s dinner will start earlier than planned. So... you should get ready soon."

Clarista gave a small nod and smiled lightly before telling Fani to hurry and prepare as well.

As David’s tutor, tonight’s celebration dinner was naturally important for Fani too because of her contributions.

Fani nodded lightly.

But by accident, her eyes met David’s darkened gaze once more.

And in that instant, she realized Al had been right all along.

There really was something wrong inside David.

Something deeply disturbing for dark or semi-dark creatures like her.

The two stared at each other for several silent seconds before David finally turned away and left, his entire body tense with suppressed anger.

And just like that...

an interesting night was about to begin.
