Chapter 313: Chapter 312: Purple River Pill

Celestial Profound Mountain Domain, Danxuan Peak.

A grand hall, shimmering with a pearlescent, jade-like brilliance, sat somewhere on Danxuan Peak. A wave of scorching heat washed over anyone who drew near.

A middle-aged man slowly walked over from a mountain path in the distance.

"Senior Miaoxuan, the Purple River Pills have been collected," the middle-aged man said respectfully toward the grand hall.

After a long while, the sweltering air inside the hall receded slightly, and an old man walked out from its depths. His eyes were bright and piercing, and his wrinkled face was a testament to a long and weathered life.

This old man was Miaoxuan.

"Oh? I never thought someone would actually be able to produce a Purple River Pill from a random mission I posted in the sect," Miaoxuan paused, a look of surprise on his face.

The middle-aged man said nothing, respectfully presenting a Pill Bottle with both hands. It appeared right before Miaoxuan’s eyes.

Miaoxuan accepted the Pill Bottle and shook his head with a helpless smile. "This Purple River Pill is probably defective. If I weren’t missing the most crucial ingredient to refine it myself—the Clam Flower—why would I need to get one from someone else?"

The middle-aged man slowly said, "Junior Brother Bai gave this Purple River Pill to me. It seems a Registered Disciple acquired it from somewhere."

"A Registered Disciple?" Miaoxuan’s brow furrowed, and he sighed internally.

The middle-aged man asked softly, "Senior Miaoxuan, then...?"

Among the Seven Peaks, the Elders and Peak Masters were Second Generation Disciples. The middle-aged man was of the same generation as Qin Wuya and Steward Bai, so it was only natural for him to address Miaoxuan as ’Senior’.

Miaoxuan shook his head and slowly opened the Pill Bottle.

In an instant, a faint, pure fragrance slowly wafted from the bottle to Miaoxuan’s nose.

’This scent!’ Miaoxuan’s heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly poured the pill from the bottle into his palm.

Gazing at the Purple River Pill in his palm—perfectly round, suffused with a flower-like wisp of Spiritual Qi, and shimmering with a rhythmic light—Miaoxuan’s eyes flew open as wide as saucers.

Miaoxuan cried out, "A purple line runs through its center, its qi wall is fragrant and brilliant... this is the absolute finest of Top Grade pills! No, this is the legendary Supreme Grade Purple River Pill!"

The middle-aged man stood there, stunned. Although he didn’t understand Miaoxuan’s words, he could sense the pill’s extraordinariness from the sheer shock in his senior’s voice.

Suddenly, Miaoxuan grabbed the middle-aged man’s arm tightly, his voice trembling as he spoke. "Which Registered Disciple submitted this pill? Tell me, quickly!"

The middle-aged man snapped back to his senses and hastily replied, "I... I’m not sure. If Senior wishes to know, I’ll investigate it for you at once!"

Miaoxuan nodded. "Good. Find this disciple for me, and I will reward you handsomely. You still need a Jade Dew Nine Fragrance Pill for your breakthrough, don’t you? I will prepare one for you."

Hearing Miaoxuan’s words, the middle-aged man’s eyes lit up, and he couldn’t contain his excitement. "Yes, yes, Senior! I’ll head to Celestial Profound Mountain right away!"

...

Seven days later, at Celestial Profound Mountain Domain’s Purple Bamboo Peak.

Purple Bamboo Peak was one of the Seven Main Peaks of the Celestial Profound Sect. It was majestic and towering, with its summit piercing straight into the clouds, stretching beyond sight.

Yann Xiangyang gazed at Purple Bamboo Peak ahead and couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. "This is the place. We’re finally here."

Wen Qingye nodded, his eyes on the Purple Bamboo Peak before them.

The Celestial Profound Sect had a total of Seven Main Peaks: Chaotian Peak, Danxuan Peak, Purple Bamboo Peak, Forget-Life Peak, Life Peak, Absolute Peak, and Cloud Conceal Peak.

Each of the Seven Peaks had its own specialty. Danxuan Peak focused on Alchemy Skill, Cloud Conceal Peak on Swordsmanship, Forget-Life Peak on Array deductions, and Purple Bamboo Peak was the main peak with the most female disciples.

Before Wen Qingye and Yann Xiangyang had even entered Purple Bamboo Peak, they saw a scene bustling with graceful women, a vibrant and colorful sight.

These women found the sight of Yann Xiangyang and Wen Qingye somewhat strange, and their eyes, particularly when they looked at Wen Qingye, were filled with immense curiosity.

Finally, one of the female disciples couldn’t resist stepping forward. She looked at Wen Qingye and asked in a charming voice, "What business do the two of you have here at our Purple Bamboo Peak?"

Wen Qingye smiled faintly. "My name is Wen Qingye. I’ve come to Purple Bamboo Peak to find an old friend."

"An old friend?" The woman sized Wen Qingye up and stuck out her tongue. "A minor disciple at the mere peak of the Yin-Yang Realm’s Fifth Heaven has an old friend on our Purple Bamboo Peak?"

Hearing the woman’s words, Yann Xiangyang’s expression changed immediately. She stepped forward and said loudly, "We’re here to see my older sister, Yann Chuxue!"

"Yann Chuxue?"

When the surrounding women heard Yann Xiangyang, they all glanced at each other and began to whisper and chatter amongst themselves.

The woman looked at Wen Qingye and Yann Xiangyang and smiled. "Ah, so you’re Junior Sister Yann’s friend, and her younger sister. My name is Lu Ling. I’ll lead the way for you both."

Wen Qingye nodded. They were in an unfamiliar place; having a guide was a good thing.

Along the way, Lu Ling continuously asked Wen Qingye and Yann Xiangyang about their circumstances. When she learned they were only Outer Disciples, she didn’t seem particularly surprised.

Lu Ling smiled. "I know a little about Junior Sister Yann’s situation. I’ve never even heard of a small country like the Celestial Martial Country. For you to be Registered Disciples is already quite impressive."

Yann Xiangyang was silent for a moment, then nodded in solemn agreement, saying nothing more.

Lu Ling continued, "Once Junior Sister Yann’s cultivation improves, she might even be able to look after you two, and getting you into Chaotian Peak or Purple Bamboo Peak wouldn’t be difficult at all."

"Oh? Why is that?" Yann Xiangyang couldn’t help but ask, puzzled.

She was well aware of her sister Yann Chuxue’s aptitude. Although it was decent, it wasn’t so extraordinary that she could easily help two Registered Disciples become Core Disciples.

"You don’t know?" Lu Ling asked, looking puzzled.

Yann Xiangyang asked, "Know what?"

Lu Ling smiled and shook her head. "It seems you really don’t know. After Junior Sister Yann entered Purple Bamboo Peak, she trained diligently. Although her aptitude isn’t ideal, she is exceptionally hardworking. Coupled with the abundant cultivation resources of our Purple Bamboo Peak, her cultivation has been advancing by leaps and bounds."

"But ever since Brother Chu visited Purple Bamboo Peak, he’s had his eye on Junior Sister Yann. He’s been so attentive to her! In my opinion, with Brother Chu’s talent, personality, appearance, and background, he and Junior Sister Yann are a match made in heaven."

"Impossible!" Hearing Lu Ling’s words, Yann Xiangyang decisively shook her head, her tone firm and resolute.

Lu Ling gave Yann Xiangyang a surprised look, not understanding what she meant or why she was so adamant.

By this time, however, the three of them had arrived at a Cave Mansion on Purple Bamboo Peak. Several Purple Snail Vines grew before its entrance, their intertwined tendrils creating a vibrant, lively scene.

Lu Ling pointed ahead and smiled. "This is where Junior Sister Yann lives. I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t disturb you. I’ll be taking my leave now."
