Chapter 220: Chapter 219: People of Tang Country

BANG!

"All you bastards from the Celestial Martial Country deserve to die!"

The noise by Wen Qingye’s ears grew louder. Peering through the dense leaves and bushes, he could see the scene up ahead.

Wang Jie was lying on the ground, the earth around him soaked through. Wang Chong’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared furiously at the six people before him.

A man and a woman led the group, their cultivation both around the Refining Spirit Sixth Layer Heaven. The others included one cultivator at the Refining Spirit Fifth Layer Heaven and three at the Refining Spirit Fourth Layer. The man’s blade was currently dripping with blood, a vicious smile playing on his lips.

The woman’s face was frosty, and her words carried a murderous Evil Qi. "As for people from the Celestial Martial Country, my Tang Country doesn’t plan on leaving a single one of you alive. Because every last one of you deserves to die."

The woman continued with a cold sneer, "It’s not that I look down on you people from the Celestial Martial Country, but not a single person has made it through this Thousand Rivers Secret Land in years. That alone says it all. You’re all just trash."

Wang Chong said disdainfully, "In the last forty years, your Tang Country has killed plenty of people from my Celestial Martial Country. Is it wrong for us from the Celestial Martial Country to kill you in return? Why bother with the hypocrisy?"

Just as the woman was about to speak, the man took a step forward and shouted, "So what if we kill people from your Celestial Martial Country? Right now, you won’t be escaping death either!"

Wang Chong scoffed, "If you’re going to kill me, then kill me. What’s with all the damn chatter? If I were stronger than you, I’d slaughter every last person from your Tang Country!"

"Still talking tough when you’re about to die?" The man slung his blade over his shoulder and walked toward Wang Chong.

Wang Chong took a deep breath, his eyes warily fixed on the man with the blade.

Wang Jie lay on the ground and said weakly, "Chong... you... didn’t... run...?"

"Run? Brother, where could I run?" Wang Chong shook his head with a bitter smile, then added with regret, "It’s such a waste, Brother. Your aptitude is so good."

Hearing Wang Chong’s words, Wang Jie’s eyes dimmed. Shen Yanxing had considered himself clever and didn’t come to the Thousand Rivers Secret Land, but Wang Chong and Yann Xiangyang had. It seemed none of them should have come here. This place was too cruel.

As Wang Chong looked at the fallen Wang Jie, he felt his own death drawing near. An inexplicable emotion lingered in his heart, and the reason for it all was his own arrogance in provoking these people from the Tang Country.

At this thought, Wang Chong’s heart filled with regret.

"You two can share your brotherly sentiments on the road to the Yellow Springs."

The man strode forward, swinging his blade directly at Wang Chong.

Wang Chong clenched his teeth, glaring furiously at the man.

WHOOSH!

Suddenly, a black shadow flashed by. The man felt a massive tremor run through his blade and couldn’t stop himself from stumbling back four or five steps.

"Who are you?"

The man steadied himself, his eyes landing on Wen Qingye’s clothes. He snarled, "So you’re another bastard from the Celestial Martial Country. You deserve to die too!" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Wen Qingye looked at the menacing man before him, a cold glint in his eyes. "If you want to kill me, let’s see if you have what it takes."

When Wang Chong saw Wen Qingye, a look of utter disbelief appeared in his eyes. ’It’s Wen Qingye? At this moment of life and death, the one standing before me is actually Wen Qingye?’

"Be careful! He’s an expert at the Refining Spirit Sixth Layer Heaven!" Wang Chong snapped back to his senses and couldn’t help but shout a warning.

Hearing Wang Chong’s cry of alarm, a sharp glint flashed in the man’s eyes, and a sinister smile spread across his lips.

"Good. I’ll kill you, the half-breed from the Celestial Martial Country, first. Then I’ll kill the two behind you. That way, you’ll have some company."

The man let out a furious roar. His Body Technique blurred into an afterimage, and in the space of a single breath, he was beside Wen Qingye. His blade was like a flash of lightning, the whistling wind from its passage grazing Wen Qingye’s face as the edge aimed straight for his neck.

Wen Qingye arched an eyebrow, a cold light flashing in his eyes. His sword moved like a silk thread as he slashed out at the man.

CLANG!

Everyone heard a tremendous, violent, and heart-shaking ring of metal on metal.

The man felt an overwhelming, irresistible force travel up his arm. His body shuddered, and he was involuntarily forced back several steps.

Everyone saw that the man’s blade had been split in two. The webbing between his thumb and forefinger was trembling nonstop, and his expression was exceptionally grim.

Wen Qingye stepped forward, sword in hand, and swept his gaze over the six people from the Tang Country without a word.

SWOOSH!

Wen Qingye shot up from the ground, his sword glowing with a brilliant light as he thrust it toward the man.

Fast!

So fast!

Among the people from the Tang Country, only the leading man and woman could clearly see Wen Qingye’s charge; the others couldn’t make him out at all.

The man gritted his teeth and tossed his broken blade to the ground. He flipped his hands several times as vast Primordial Qi billowed out and gathered in his palms, as if he were draining all the Primordial Qi from the surrounding air.

"Shocking Wind Palm!"

The man struck out at Wen Qingye with one palm. The cyan Primordial Qi crushed the air before it with astonishing power.

Wang Chong’s expression instinctively changed, his heart tightening. Wang Jie had been defeated by this very Eighth-Grade Martial Arts, the Shocking Wind Palm.

Wen Qingye’s eyes remained calm. A strange arc appeared on the blade of his One Thought Sword, and with a flash of red light, the surrounding temperature shot up.

Wen Qingye had finally unleashed the full power of the Four Symbols Sword Technique.

"Four Symbols Sword Technique, First Stance! Huo Changxiong!"

A red Sword Aura roared forth, lunging like a raging inferno, its endless fiery power sweeping in all directions.

Everyone felt a scorching heat envelop them, as if they had suddenly been teleported to the edge of a lava flow.

A single Sword Aura, like a torrent of roaring flames, came hurtling forward!

The red flames seared the cyan Powerful Qi. In an instant, the cyan Primordial Qi seemed to evaporate from the heat as the Sword Aura continued its path toward the man.

PFFT!

The man’s face was a mask of horror. The Sword Aura swept over him, and as if flames had incinerated his body, he let out a bloodcurdling scream.

The scream was so chilling that it made the hearts of the Tang Country cultivators behind him go cold, and their teeth ache.

But in a mere moment, the bloodcurdling scream vanished. The man in front of them also disappeared as if he had never been there at all. Only a strange, sweet scent lingered in the air.

"You... you..." The woman’s face was deathly pale as she pointed a trembling finger at Wen Qingye, stammering.

Wen Qingye’s expression didn’t change as he looked at the woman from the Tang Country.

Even though she was an expert at the Refining Spirit Sixth Layer Heaven, she was completely stunned by Wen Qingye’s move. ’That Swordsmanship is so sharp, so tyrannical!’

’Who is this person? How can his Swordsmanship be so incredible? Why have I never heard his name? And he’s actually from the Celestial Martial Country?’

In an instant, the minds of the remaining Tang Country cultivators were flooded with questions.

As for Wang Chong, seeing Wen Qingye slay the man, his shock was no less than that of the people from the Tang Country.

"So Wen Qingye is the real genius," Wang Chong said with a self-deprecating laugh.

Seeing how the situation had turned, Wang Chong felt a sense of relief. He immediately sat down cross-legged and began to slowly transfer his own Primordial Qi into Wang Jie’s body.
