Chapter 473: Chapter 435: Getting Married (Part 1)
The two of them were stunned.
They stared at each other blankly for a long time until Alvin Morgan’s cheeks flushed red. He coughed lightly a few times. "Aurora, you could say we’ve already bowed to heaven and earth. In ancient times, that was as good as being married."
Alvin Morgan pointed at her posture—kneeling on the bed after he had pulled her down when he fell—and said with a dead-serious expression.
"..."
Alvin Morgan was a man of action. The moment he mentioned marriage, he started making arrangements.
First, he went to cell 3 in Zone A to inform Todd Linton.
Todd immediately grew anxious and demanded to see Aurora Sinclair.
For the past two years, Aurora Sinclair had been trying to get him released, but he always refused. He’d even kicked her out of his cell and refused to see her over the matter.
"Are you really going to marry him?"
Aurora Sinclair nodded. "I’m old enough."
"How old are you? And he’s so much older..." Todd Linton was clearly displeased, even glaring at Alvin Morgan, who stood a short distance away, as if he had committed some unforgivable sin.
Alvin Morgan walked over, took Aurora Sinclair’s hand, and said with great solemnity, "If I could turn back time, I would wish to have met her when she was six years old. That way, the girl I love wouldn’t have suffered so much. I will treasure her like a jewel for the rest of my life."
Todd Linton froze. His gaze toward Alvin Morgan turned complicated, and he pursed his lips, unable to speak for a long moment. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
The atmosphere in the room grew heavy.
Aurora Sinclair bit her lip as she looked at him. Just as she was about to speak, she saw him wave a dismissive hand at them.
"Go on..."
As the cell door closed, the light in Aurora Sinclair’s eyes dimmed.
Alvin Morgan’s expression darkened slightly. He raised a hand to wrap around Aurora Sinclair’s shoulder and comforted her softly, "Don’t worry. He’s already agreed."
Aurora Sinclair turned to look at him, but she saw the serious expression on his face as he stared into the cell. Thinking he was angry, she felt even worse.
「That night.」
Aurora Sinclair noticed that Alvin Morgan, who was sleeping in the next room, had gotten up and was heading out.
He had a Basic Supervisor take him to Zone A in the special section.
A little worried, Aurora Sinclair followed them from a distance.
She saw Alvin Morgan enter cell 3. About an hour later, he emerged with Todd Linton on his back.
Todd Linton was wearing his jacket, his face sour as he fiercely threatened him.
"You brat, if you dare treat my girl poorly, I’ll risk my old life to fight you to the end..."
A smile instantly appeared on Alvin Morgan’s handsome face. He was in such a good mood that he let the threats roll off his back.
The Basic Supervisor beside them even started joking, "Lord Sinclair is so powerful, you wouldn’t even need to lift a finger. She’d deal with him herself..."
"That’s true. My girl is so capable, I doubt he’d dare bully her." A trace of pride appeared in Todd Linton’s eyes, making Aurora Sinclair cover her mouth and slowly crouch down to hide herself.
The Basic Supervisor seized the opportunity to add a few more good words about Alvin Morgan, which immediately put Todd Linton much more at ease.
In the end, he actually started to worry that the dynamic of the woman being stronger than the man would lead to his girl being ridiculed by people in the Martial World.
"Kid, your talent for martial cultivation isn’t great, so you’ll have to work harder. Don’t give people a reason to laugh at my girl in the future."
Alvin Morgan felt a bit helpless. ’This seems to be a sore spot that’s never going away...’
***
「Just before dawn.」 Alvin Morgan finally returned to his quarters.
The moment he pushed the door open, he saw a figure sitting on the bed inside. He paused for a second, then smiled and walked over. "How long have you been waiting?"
"A long time..." Aurora Sinclair’s eyes were very bright as she stared at him intently.
Alvin Morgan reached out and stroked her hair. "Don’t worry. The necessary procedures were taken care of long ago. The International Martial Arts Bureau is handling it now..."
As he was speaking, a cool body wrapped around him. A muffled voice came from his chest, "Thank you..."
Alvin Morgan stiffened for a moment before reaching back to grab the blanket from the bed and wrapping it around her. He tapped her nose and asked with a smile, "How do you plan on thanking me?"
Aurora Sinclair’s eyes widened in an instant. She blinked and asked in a small voice, "What do you want?"
Her expression made Alvin Morgan chuckle. He hugged her through the blanket and gave her a kiss. "Silly girl, I only want you."
***
At Aurora Sinclair’s request, the two did not have a large wedding celebration.
They simply held a low-key event with a few tables on the Isle of Esteros, where the International Penitentiary was located.
The only guests were Aurora Sinclair’s and Alvin Morgan’s closest family: her three masters from Sunstone, and the core lineages of the Sinclair Family and the Morgan Family.
Master Aerion couldn’t attend due to his special status and could only stay on Sunstone, sulking at Ditto Three in front of him.
"Dawn Miles, when you become a Maker in the future, you must change the rules for Guardians for me..."
On the screen, Aurora Sinclair nodded obediently.
"Master also prepared a big red envelope for you. Leigh Miles has it..."
Leigh Miles, who was sitting next to Aurora Sinclair and doing her hair, immediately rolled her eyes. "Master, you’ve said that a million times. You think I wouldn’t give it to my senior sister?"
Master Aerion glared. "That’s money your master saved up by not drinking for three months..."
"Yes, yes, Master, you’ve had it so tough. It’s so hard for you to save money..."
Leigh Miles’s completely insincere tone almost made Jean Quincy poke Aurora Sinclair in the face with the mascara wand.
Ever since Black, the King of Hackers, exposed the existence of Martial Artists in the Martial World, they finally understood why Aurora Sinclair hadn’t returned to the Sinclair Family.
They never imagined that not only was she a Martial Artist, but she also held such a high status and position in the Martial World.
Because of her, the Sinclair Family had now squeezed into the ranks of Kingsford’s top-tier Great Families. Even the core lineage of their own Quincy Family treated her family as honored guests.
Other families swarmed in, trying their best to curry favor with the Sinclair Family and her family, all in the hopes of sending their children to the Radiant Void Sect for Martial Cultivation.
’The acting roles she was offered now were better than anyone else’s. To think Aurora’s sect still acts like an ordinary family... their state of mind is truly on a completely different level.’
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK...
A knock suddenly came from the door of Aurora Sinclair’s office.
"Come in—"
A Basic Supervisor entered and bowed respectfully to Aurora Sinclair.
"Lord Sinclair, the president of the International Martial Alliance and the head of the International Martial Arts Bureau have sent people with gifts."
The other two in the room gasped. Those two organizations were revered by all Martial Artists.
Aurora Sinclair nodded slightly. "Give them some wedding candy."
"Yes—"
Following that, several Martial Artists walked in, carrying a few boxes.
When they were opened, they were filled with priceless antiques and calligraphy. Leigh Miles’s eyes lit up, and she exclaimed that they’d struck it rich.
Hearing this made Jean Quincy feel even more conflicted. Thinking about how Aurora Sinclair was only giving a few bags of candy in return, she asked worriedly, "Aurora, isn’t just giving them some wedding candy a bit... shabby?"
Leigh Miles laughed. "Jean, don’t worry. They’re dying to give my senior sister gifts! Her Body Refining Techniques have benefited them immensely..."
Jean Quincy suddenly remembered the task her parents had given her and asked cautiously, "Aurora, do you have any requirements for accepting disciples?"
Aurora Sinclair paused. She looked at the beautiful girl in the mirror, thought for a moment, and said calmly, "It’s a matter of fate..."
"Then..."
"Jean, don’t tell me you’re also trying to recommend disciples to the Radiant Void Sect?" Leigh Miles asked, her face falling.
She had no idea who had leaked her identity as Aurora Sinclair’s junior martial sister, but for the past two years of college, she had nearly been driven crazy by all the male martial artists.
Not only did they hang around her every day, but they also asked her for guidance in their Martial Cultivation and even wanted to become her disciples.
She couldn’t get rid of them. It was absolutely infuriating.
Called out, Jean Quincy’s pretty face flushed red, and she looked away, embarrassed.
"I was just... asking..."
