Chapter 298: The Blazing Angel (Bonus)
Bettie hesitated. "We don’t... have to kill her."
Valerie glanced sideways. "If we need to defend ourselves and it goes there, then it goes there."
There was a short pause before she added, "Let me guess, you’ve never taken a life."
Bettie exhaled. "No, especially not after stalking them."
Valerie smiled but said nothing more. Bettie’s reaction was understandable, but it was what it was.
Loretta’s pace then changed a bit as she subtly flicked her eyes to the side.
Her perception had made her realize that these same persons have been following her for a while now. It wasn’t coincidence.
Without breaking stride, she turned into an alley and kept walking.
Both Valerie and Bettie followed behind her, entering the alley until they came to a stop.
There was suddenly no one. Even her mana presence had vanished, meaning their target was someone who knew how to suppress their mana.
Valerie’s eyes narrowed. "Lucy," she said quietly, hand brushing her earpiece. "You still see her?"
Then Lucy’s voice came back. "She’s there" and after a pause, "Above you!"
Bettie quickly turned her head upwards to meet a burst of flame gushing down from above.
She reacted on instinct, throwing her hand forward as a magic circle appeared and formed a translucent bubble. The fire slammed against it, bursting outward in heat and scattering harmlessly across the barrier.
This was a tier 6 space element spell; Ars Orbis
The alley lit up briefly, before revealing Loretta floating just above them. "Who are you people?" she asked in an irritated voice. "And why are you following me?"
Without a word, Valerie launched upward, while Bettie dropped the barrier and followed, riding an air-tornado spell that lifted her into the sky. Even as she rose, she extended her palm outward, a magic circle forming as she prepared her next spell.
Waves of color and magic tore through the narrow alley as they clashed with the Heydrich.

"Lucy." Percival spoke into the comms. "Where are we headed?"
"Target’s not far from you," she said. "Stay on your current route."
They eventually reached a small hotel, fully rented out by the Lebrante family head who had chosen to hide there.
A place at the most remote part of the city where he thought no one would think to look.
A few wolves were stationed across the compound; some at the entrance, others scattered along corridors and rooftops.
They were roughly only thirty of them.
The battle quickly raged on inside the building as well, but the stationed guards were no match for the four of them, especially Ishtar, whose blasts of green energy were so catastrophic they left no room for resistance.
To deal with the last of the wolves in the area, Wilson stretched out his hand toward the blood pools across the ground, then lifted it.
The blood responded, rising into the air before splitting and dividing into dozens of thin, needle-like strands.
His lips curled slightly. And with a flick of his wrist, they shot forward, piercing through the remaining wolves and dropping them one after another.
Percival watched from the side, shaking his head, as if he didn’t quite approve of the vampire enjoying himself while killing werewolves.
Then he turned to the last member of the Dessendre family.
"Ishtar," he said casually, "it’s fine if you completely blast this one. He is definitely one of the bad guys."
Ishtar hesitated for a moment, unsure if he was serious.
Wilson let out a short laugh, shaking his head.
"Don’t mind that fool," he said, stepping forward again. "Just focus."
Then the sound of an engine roared from the far end of the compound. Everyone turned in that direction as Aliyah called out, "He is trying to get away!"
Wilson’s vision shifted, making use of his True Sight trait to scan through every structure in that direction.
He immediately saw through the vehicle: the LeBrante family head was already driving out.
Wilson did not hesitate. Dark wings spread open behind him in a sharp motion.
"I’ve got him," he said, taking off.
The car sped through the streets, turning hard around the corners.
Above it, Wilson followed. Closing the gap with every second.
He dropped onto the roof of the moving car, landing hard enough to force it to swerve under the impact.
Inside, the family head barely had time to react before Wilson drove his sword straight down. freewebnoveℓ.com
What followed was a burst of blood against the windows as the car veered wildly off course, finally slamming into a pole.
Wilson watched from above, wings beating steadily to keep him afloat in the air.
The Lebrante Family was the weakest of the wolf clans overall.
——
Across Grayforte, it was happening almost all at once.
In one part of the city, Nina moved through a cluster of Zeidan vampires like a storm. They came at her in groups, fast and aggressive, but none of them could keep up. She cut through them without slowing, leaving bodies behind left right and center.
The only ones she left unharmed were the young, the trembling women, and any of the male vampires who had not stepped in her way on the path to the family head.
Naturally, after the first few were torn down, fear took hold of the rest at the sight of a Beast-class summon rampaging through their compound.
-
And finally, the Ghislaines...
This family of werewolves was met by the descent of a four-winged angel, whose body glowed with a blazing light and brimmed with such immense energy.
However, her initial appearance was the only time anyone ever saw her, because she had already traversed the estate at the speed of light, moving in and out and leaving only the Ghislaine leader dead in her wake.
After being leveled up to Emperor class, the first qualitative change Arael had undergone was the emergence of a second pair of wings.
Then, after advancing into Beast class, the second qualitative change came in her skills themselves.
Her skill, which had once allowed her to grant elemental properties to her ink projectiles, could now, upon leveling up, be applied directly to herself. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
In this case, she had imbued her body with the properties of the Light element, which explained her blazing form and her speed.
