Chapter 293: My Beast-Class Summons
The next morning at Stark Residence...
Ethan sat halfway up the wide stone steps leading into the manor, one foot set higher than the other. His focus was fixed on the translucent system screens hovering in front of him.

[Summon Background: Andrea Tudor, the first daughter of King Carson Tudor, was born to her mother Elena; a former heir of the Vladimir vampire family before her marriage into the royal bloodline. In choosing to work with her brother to overthrow their father, she subjected herself to certain modifications. Those choices ultimately led to her death at the hands of a Martial King.]
[Warning: You cannot borrow a trait while the summon is on the field or actively using that trait.]
——
Even though Andrea had met her death, Ethan had kept a catalyst he used to summon her spirit into his arsenal.
She may have been evil, but Eduardo had confirmed that having access to the traits of all family leaders made her extremely formidable.
And for that, Ethan wanted it too. However, he decided it would be a long time—if ever—before he brought Andrea onto the battlefield.
There was also one other decision he had to make, and it concerned his last rewards: the Spirit Advancement Rune and the Experience Transfer Ticket.
But before doing anything about them, he needed to deal with Nina’s current max level as an Emperor-level.
So he mentally asked the system how many culling points it would take to grant Nina a new max potential.
[40,000 culling points are required]
"Shit.." he whispered. With his culling points balance from last time still at 4,500, even if he sacrificed the two Commander-class and five King-class summons for more points, he would only have a balance of 34,500 points which still wasn’t enough.
Unless, perhaps he sacrificed one legendary summon.
"Hmm..." he thought to himself. It was true that right now he needed numbers, especially Legendary summons, for the battles he was to enter, but then he also had the XP to gain more.
He was guaranteed one Legendary summon should he use his experience points right now to level up.
And after deciding to cull a Legendary summon, the next problem was which one.
"Nope... no need," he said to himself. The current Legendary summons were either representations of battles won, or ones he had grown accustomed to over time.
Then there was the domain-type summon; the Whispering Corridors of Slow Madness; too unique to be sacrificed. So he decided his next sacrifice would simply be a new summon guaranteed upon leveling up his summoner status.
With another mental command to the system, he made it take the required amount of experience points to reach the summoner level 21
Level 20 → 21: 155,000 XP]
[You have gained a new Legendary summon]
[Shall I reveal its profile or summon it?]
Ethan exhaled, then said in his thoughts, ’I don’t need to see it...Nina at Beast class is more important right now. Cull the Legendary, along with the two Commander-class and King-class summons.’
That was the only compensation for him right now.
[Confirmation Required]
[You are about to sacrifice the following summons:]
[- 2 commander-class summons]
[- 5 King-class summons]
[- 1 legendary-class summon]
[This action is IRREVERSIBLE. Proceed?]
"Yes," Ethan said.
The system processed the command immediately.
[Sacrifice Complete]
[Culling Points Gained:
[- 2 commander-class summons: 5,000 points]
[- 5 King-class summons: 25000 points]
[- 1 legendary-class summon: 10000 points]
[Total Culling Points Earned: 40,000]
[Current Culling Points Balance: 44,500]
Ethan nodded, then mentally commanded the system to allocate the points, extending Nina’s potential to Beast-class and confirming all prompts.
Another set of notifications appeared.
[Culling Rite Applied]
[Remaining Culling Points: 4,500]
[Nina’s Potential Rating Increased: Emperor → Beast]
[XP Kickstart Activated: Nina receives 50% of required XP to reach Beast-class]
[Nina’s Progress: 15000 / 30000 XP to Beast-class]
Ethan then willed the system to show its balance.
[Experience Points Balance: 147,550]
He sighed, but was also thankful that the past few days had granted him some experience points.
Being honest with Bella, coming to an understanding with Hayley, extracting critical information from the formerly captured Andrea, successfully creating a serum from her DNA, and finally handing her over to the Arcorys had earned him a total of 47,550 XP.
’I’ll be using the experience point transfer tickets’ he said internally to the system.
Ethan was being extra careful now not to say certain things, so a certain trickster wouldn’t be listening in on his dealings.
[100,000 experience points has been moved from your balance]
[I await your instructions on how they should be divided]
With a mental command, Ethan assigned the remaining fifteen thousand experience points to Nina’s leveling
[Nina’s Progress Complete: 30000 / 30000 XP to Beast-class]
[Congrats! The Summon Nina Dragonheart is now a Beast-Class summon]
[Nina has reached reached her maximum rating]
Ethan had such a satisfied smile on his face.
[Balance Left In Transfer Ticket: 85000xp]
After another mental command, the system assigned 5,000 XP to Arael and 4,500 XP to Joe, who was also close to reaching Emperor-class.
[Congrats! The Summon Arael is now an Emperor-Class summon]
[Arael has undergone a qualitative change]
[Arael’s Progress: 0 / 30000 XP to Beast-class]
[Congrats! The Summon Joe Sanderberg is now an Emperor-Class summon]
[Joe Sanderberg has reached reached his maximum rating]
[Balance Left In Transfer Ticket: 75,500xp]
"Hm..." Ethan muttered at the sight of the qualitative change message. That was new, but he assumed it had something to do with her "True potential."
The potential she had never been able to reach in her short lifespan was now manifesting through her level-ups. However, he decided he would check what the change meant later.
Ethan could have used the experience points on Arael to push her to Beast-class, but decided against it, saving them instead for other summons, especially Rue and Albedo.
He then summoned the rune into his hand and shattered it, mentally commanding the system to apply its effect to Arael instead.
[Spirit Advancement Rune Has been used on Arael]
[Arael has now advanced to Beast-class]
[Congrats! The Summon Arael is now a Beast-Class summon]
[Arael has reached reached her maximum rating]
[Arael’s skills has undergone a qualitative change]
Ethan nodded again. He was satisfied with having two beast class summons right now.
But before he could continue any further, the front doors creaked open behind him as Percival stepped out, with a bottle in hand from the freezers.
He walked down a few steps, then dropped beside Ethan without asking, throwing an arm over his shoulder.
"Man, what have you been doing out here all this while... us orphans have to stick together now," he said in a joking tone.
Hayley came out not long after, trailing behind Percival before dropping onto Ethan’s other side.
"Uh-huh," she muttered, raising her own bottle toward Percival. He raised his in return, and the bottles met in a soft clink.
Ethan let out a short laugh as one of the screens dissolved. "You both are ridiculous."
They laughed and for a moment, it was just that.
Then Ethan straightened a little.
"Speaking of which," he said, glancing between them, "have you guys thought about the company?"
Percival’s expression changed, just a bit.
"For now, the board’s handling it," he replied. "They reinstated an acting CEO and all that... but beyond that..." he exhaled lightly, shaking his head, "I don’t know much yet."
Haley rolled her bottle between her palms, eyes drifting off toward the open gates.
"Same," she said. "I don’t know if I even want to be bothered with the company right now."
Ethan nodded slowly, like he expected that answer. "I’m not saying rush it. Take your time. But you both need to give the company’s future some real thought." freewebnovel.cσ๓
Percival nodded. "Yeah," he said quietly.
The moment settled again until movement at the gate caught Ethan’s eye.
He looked up just as it slid open, revealing Aliyah stepping through first. Behind her was Bettie, and it seemed they had met on their way to his place.
Ethan pushed himself to his feet.
"Well," he said, brushing his hands together, "looks like they’re starting to arrive."
Percival stood too, rolling his shoulders.
Haley took a final sip from her bottle before rising, glancing toward the entrance.
Not long after...
The living room of Stark Manor was filled.
The team and the members of his house had gathered.
