Chapter 7: Silver Wolf
Arc strolled into the glade where the Silver Wolves leisurely sat around on every corner, sunbathing. He held [Gaea’s Judgment] at his arm’s length, and if one looked close enough, they’d notice a trace of fresh blood on it.
The Silver Wolves tensed as they spotted the intruder, but upon accessing his strength, they relaxed once more and didn’t make a move, only now wondering where the scouts watching the den had been when this prey walked right into the wolves’ den.
[Human | Lv1]
"Which one amongst you is the boss?" Arc’s calm voice echoed across the glade, his head lowered the entire time since he walked in.
Killing the Silver Wolves’ boss critically affected the pack’s morale, and they either fled or became easy pickings. That was Arc’s plan.
The battle at the spawn point should be in its final phase, with whichever party came out victorious. But witnessing how Jack had disabled the first wolf and Joan recovering just in time to finish it off swiftly, it was safe to say that the party would survive this one even if the rest weren’t as good.
The Silver Wolves stared at Arc with a lack of interest as one visibly bigger than the others stood up and began approaching Arc.
It walked around him in a circle before stopping in front of him with its towering height—only a head shorter than him—that encompassed Arc in its shadow.
"Are you the boss?"
Arc asked as he finally lifted his head.

His mouth twitched.
The Silver Wolf let out a low growl in reply, revealing its rows of razor-sharp teeth. But it was obvious it wasn’t taking Arc seriously and wanted to toy with him first.
"No?" Arc replied calmly, clearly unaffected.
"Then get lost."
He said as he raised Gaea’s Judgment—which looked no different than an artsy wooden staff—and slammed it down on the Silver Wolf’s head, which was instantly reduced to the dirt as a minor shockwave and crater exploded beneath its crushed skull.
[Critical hit!]

It was at that moment the entire Silver Wolf pack stood up in their numbers, baring their fangs at him as they realized they’d clearly underestimated the enemy.
All except for one still sitting across the field and staring as the scene unfolded like it had nothing to do with him. It was smaller in size than the rest of the pack, and if Arc had been inexperienced, he might’ve thought it was a cub. But he knew better to know that was his guy. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
[Silver Wolf Alpha Beast | Lv12]
With a cold smirk, Arc shot forward like a cannon. Disregarding the rest of the pack, who stood momentarily stunned at his sheer speed, he flew towards the Silver Wolf Alpha with the speed boost of Gaea’s Judgment.
He appeared before the Alpha Beast with the staff raised above his head like a spear to pulverize the wolf, but from when he killed the first Silver Wolf till that critical moment, the Alpha Beast didn’t budge a muscle as it stared at Arc descending on it.
This set off the danger senses in Arc’s head, and before he could figure out what gave the Alpha Beast such confidence, his hairs stood on end as he felt danger approaching fast.
Arc didn’t give it a thought before he swiftly changed his grip and moved Gaea’s Judgment to his side as a shield to intercept the incoming attack at the dire minute, just as a massive claw collided with the staff and sent Arc tumbling in the air like a ragdoll.
He bounced off the floor like a pebble tossed across the surface of water and at one point lost his grip on the staff, which got lost in the dirt. But before he could incur any more damage, Arc took control of his body and pushed off the floor, landing on his feet as he skidded a few steps back to regain his balance.
But he was surrounded by the wolf pack the next moment and finally got a clear view of what had attacked him. It was a ferocious, massive Silver Wolf. Two of them, standing side by side now before the cruising Alpha Beast.

[Alpha Beast Elite Left-hand Bloodhound | Lv10]
Arc cussed internally as he spat to his side a mouthful of blood. He’d forgotten they were there as well.
He admitted being a little arrogant to think he could take on a Lv12 Alpha Beast at his current base level with a heavily restricted weapon. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
But that didn’t mean he couldn’t achieve it.
Arc eyed the Silver Wolves which had surrounded him, leaving no room for escape—not like he needed one.
He just needed to level up a bit, and there was no better place and time to do that than right there, and right now.
The first wolf leaped at him from behind, aiming for his neck, when Gaea’s Judgment suddenly levitated from its spot with a flick of Arc’s wrist and shot towards the open jaw of the Silver Wolf, which was only a breath away from taking a chunk of his flesh, when its jaw was shattered on impact with the staff and it dropped to the side, whining in agony.
The staff returned to Arc’s grip, and he horizontally raised it before the pack of Silver Wolves as his lips parted to utter two words.
"Who’s next?"
The Silver Wolves didn’t hesitate any longer and jumped Arc from every angle possible, baring their fangs with their claws at full length.
Arc swiftly spun the staff over his head, then around him, knocking the wolves back and severely injuring some before he shot forward and began attacking the wolves, knocking them down with the sheer strength of Gaea’s Judgment before finishing them off with a second hit—and that was all it took to take down the Silver Wolves: two hits.

Arc immersed himself in the battle, letting his bloodlust overflow with every move of the staff. He’d lost count of how many wolves had fallen and how much he’d leveled up, that he failed to the notice the Alpha Beast bloodhounds move away from the boss to blend in with the rest of the pack as they crept towards him.
