Chapter 313: Chapter 311
Chapter 311
"Haaaa.... Haaaa....haaaa...."
The trio could be seen panting incredulously as they watched the skeleton creatures tumble and disassemble to the ground like a stack of cards.
Trish and Chloe were now on their knees panting and wheezing while clutching their bleeding bodies.
Chloe’s bow had even snapped in two from the constant strain of battling the creatures.
The sun had now risen high up into the sky casting its glow over the world.
Mid pant, Ray lifted his head to look at the girls.
He couldn’t believe it.
They had been fighting overnight.
Eight hours of fighting hordes of skeleton creatures non-stop.
If it was a normal person, they would have lost their lives by now.
Or even collapsed mid fight due to exhaustion. freёwebnovel.com
Ray knew he wasn’t normal and had more stamina than a normal being.
But Trisha and Chloe?
How had they lasted this long against the horde of skeleton creatures.
’Come to think of it, it’s like this world is testing the different aspects we have. Hill Valley tested our intelligence; the sea and Kraken tested our endurance and this....this Bone Ridge is testing our stamina.’
What sort of issue have they now found themselves into?
Heaving a tired sigh, Ray rose to his full height and then sauntered over to where Chloe was.
She had it worse than Trisha so he crouched down and placed his hands on her shoulders.
[Celestial Healing]
A pristine, ethereal glow appeared all around the girl’s body as all her injuries, cuts, punctures were healing at an astonishing rate.
Chloe stared at this phenomenon take place with a confused, blank look on her face before looking up to stare at Ray’s face.
Briefly glancing in Trisha’s way, she sighed inwardly as she was now fully healed.
Ray stepped back away from her and then walked towards a kneeling Trisha.
Staring at her for a few seconds, the girl nodded at him and then he crouched down and began healing her too.
Within a minute, the two girls were fully healed.
Looking at him with a raised brow, Chloe pointed forward.
"Aren’t you going to heal yourself too?"
Ray glanced at the few cuts on his arms and face then shook his head.
"I don’t need to. I can self heal."
And the moment he said that, two cuts on his arms closed off instantly.
If one looked closer, they could see that the other scratches on his face and arms were slowly sealing off.
It seemed like he was healing or regenerating. It was unnatural for anybody to see.
As if having the ability to heal others wasn’t enough, his body was capable of healing minor scratches on its own.
It’s not as if the boy was even normal to begin with though.
Heaving a sigh, the girls picked themselves up and without saying anything, they all walked towards the bone cave they had been taking shelter in before.
Settling inside, they finally allowed themselves to release a shaky breath of relief.
Chloe looked at her broken bow with a sad look on her face before she grabbed the sleeve of her jacket then tore it off immediately.
Ray turned in her direction watching what she was doing.
Straightening the piece of clothing, she began wrapping it around the broken bow as if trying to patch it together.
Wrapping and wrapping and then with a solid tug, she was done.
Pulling on her bow string a few times, she finally nodded in satisfaction and dropped the bow to the side.
Ray rubbed his face then turned away.
"...."
The whole bone cave was now silent. Seconds stretched into minutes with neither Ray or Trisha saying a word.
Chloe on the other hand was close to her breaking point as she looked between the boy and the other girl.
Biting down on her tongue, she waited for thirty minutes more and still, the whole place was eerily silent and it was driving her mad.
"Oh come on! Are you both mimes or what? I can’t take this damned silence anymore."
Ray slowly turned to face her while Trisha didn’t even act like she heard her at all.
"Hm? If you can’t take the silence, you can as well walk out though." The Tribrid shrugged indifferently.
"Really? You know.... Both you and Trisha are no different. Always acting cold and mute. Wait. Weren’t you yapping just yesterday? What happened now? My mind is going nuts in this damned silence."
Ray looked at her for a second then cocked his shoulder.
"Whatever."
Chloe’s eyes bulged angrily as her hands twitched as if she wanted to send an arrow flying towards the boy.
But taking in deep breaths, she calmed back down then shook her head.
When she was finally about to resign to her fate of dying in silence, Trisha finally spoke.
"What were those?"
"Hm?" Ray lifted a brow.
Slowly Trisha sat upright.
"Those skeletons looked like they were being controlled by something. They didn’t look like regular beasts to me."
"I agree." Chloe nodded with a thoughtful gaze. "This place really gives me the creeps as if it doesn’t follow the norms."
"Which is all the more why we need to find the others as fast as possible. We need to regroup and then find a way to escape this whole world altogether." Ray added as he clenched his hands in and out for a few seconds.
Trisha turned to look at him with a raised brow.
"You have any way of locating the others? We can’t keep wandering around like we did on Hill Valley."
Ray thought for a second then recalled what he had been trying to do before being distracted by the assembling skeletons.
Snapping his fingers, his eyes lit up instantly.
"I have a way to locate Van. I don’t know about the others though. But if I’m able to locate Van, we can find the others."
"Huh? How is he going to help?" Chloe asked with a raised brow.
"He always has a way and he surely will find a way for us."
Without saying anything else, Ray closed his eyes as if he was about mediating.
Several seconds later, his eyes snapped open and in his vision, which only he could see, a thin trail of blue mist could be seen in the air.
A smile curved his lips.
"Come on. Let’s go. Van is here in this region."
