Chapter 136: Chapter 88: Beast Tide
"Let’s go with this one. What do you think?"
Chen Yu pointed to the mission he had selected and looked at Baili Qing and An Ran.
"One hundred thousand credits! That’s a lot. Let’s do this one," An Ran said excitedly.
"No problem." Baili Qing nodded.
The three of them reached an agreement and immediately accepted the mission.
After leaving the mission hall, An Ran took charge of arranging transportation, and the three of them headed straight for the military airport.
—
At the military airport, the three of them boarded a military helicopter, which took off immediately and headed toward Tang City.
On the helicopter, Chen Yu logged into the Alliance’s internal network to search for details about Tang City.
Compared to the regular Starry Sky Network, the Alliance’s internal network had much clearer information.
The Superpower Alliance has many branch bases throughout the Nine Realms.
You could say that a general overview of the Nine Realms could be found within the Superpower Alliance’s network.
"Huh? Is that... a Superpower Alliance member badge? Brother Yu, you’ve already joined the Superpower Alliance?"
An Ran stared at him in surprise, having seen the golden badge Chen Yu took out.
Chen Yu nodded while continuing to read the information.
"Brother Yu, that’s so not cool of you. You became a member of the Superpower Alliance without saying a word." An Ran looked at him with a playfully resentful expression.
"I’m only a Level 1 member. It’s not like I’m some big shot," Chen Yu said, his eyes still on the files.
An Ran shot him a look of utter disbelief.
"Brother Yu, I suspect you’re just showing off!"
Baili Qing blinked and glanced at An Ran. "You should probably drop the ’suspect’ part."
"..."
After searching through the data, Chen Yu found some information about Tang City on the Alliance’s internal network.
However, he didn’t find the information he was looking for.
It was all just basic data.
Chen Yu logged out of the Alliance’s network and gazed into the distance. ’I wonder if we’ll run into the Alien Race this time...’
The last mission in Jiang City was still fresh in Chen Yu’s mind.
The combat power of the Alien Race was indeed formidable, but killing them yielded a massive amount of Source of Life.
He was actually looking forward to running into one or two members of the Alien Race again.
That way, his Source of Life would increase by a huge amount.
—
「Tang City.」
A small-scale safe zone with a population of several hundred thousand.
But its geographical location was crucial.
It served as a gateway to several large-scale safe zones.
Besides being a gateway to several large-scale safe zones, more importantly, Tang City was also a safe zone with vast resources.
It had numerous energy mining areas.
Energy mines with enough resources to be exploited for over two hundred years.
It was also the primary energy supplier for several of the large-scale safe zones.
As dusk fell over Tang City Airport, a military helicopter descended from the sky and landed on the tarmac.
Chen Yu and the other two disembarked from the helicopter, their eyes scanning the surroundings.
Not far away, a black Hummer was parked. As the trio got off the helicopter, a burly man got out of the Hummer.
"That’s the car," An Ran said, pointing to the black Hummer in the distance. Chen Yu and the others took a look and started walking toward it.
"Miss An, hello. The Third Miss sent me to pick you up."
Upon reaching the vehicle, the burly man spoke respectfully.
An Ran nodded, then turned to Chen Yu and Baili Qing. "Let’s get in."
The two nodded and got into the black Hummer, followed by An Ran.
The burly man got in, started the engine, and with a ROAR, the Hummer sped off into the distance.
A little over half an hour later, the trio arrived in front of a villa in the urban district of Tang City.
Getting out of the car, the three of them sized up the villa.
"Not bad, An Ran. You arranged this pretty well," Baili Qing said with a smile.
An Ran lifted her chin, a smug smile on her face. "Of course. When I handle things, you two can rest easy."
"Miss An, after you," the burly man said, gesturing after parking the car.
An Ran took the lead, with Chen Yu and Baili Qing following behind as they entered the villa.
Inside, the villa was brightly lit. It wasn’t excessively luxurious, but rather possessed an air of elegance.
The interior architecture was full of a classical, traditional style.
Stepping into the villa, the burly man came forward and said, "Miss An, please make yourselves at home. The Third Miss has already made all the arrangements. If you need anything at all, just let me know."
An Ran nodded. The burly man then clapped his hands, and several servants appeared. He continued, "Miss An, dinner has been prepared. You may eat first."
"Alright, thanks." An Ran nodded. Then, led by a servant, the three of them went to the villa’s dining room.
The dining table was laden with all sorts of delicacies, their fragrant aromas whetting their appetites.
"Oh, right. Is Sister Wan not here?" An Ran asked, looking at the burly man.
The burly man replied, "The Third Miss was called away on urgent business. I’m afraid she won’t be back for a while."
"’I see...’" An Ran nodded and didn’t ask any more questions before taking a seat at the table.
The three of them didn’t stand on ceremony. They dug in like a whirlwind, and the feast on the table was quickly devoured.
Full and satisfied, the trio moved to the living room and sat on the sofa. Just then, the burly man approached with a file. "Miss An, this is the information the Third Miss instructed me to give you. She said it would be helpful."
An Ran took the file from the burly man and immediately handed it to Chen Yu.
"You two can look at it, Brother Yu. I’m too stuffed..." An Ran said, rubbing her stomach.
"..."
Chen Yu took the file and read through it. The information inside was related to their current mission.
It was information about some Mutated Beast lairs.
According to the file, the Mutated Beast lairs were located somewhere in the North Mountain area of Tang City.
The terrain of North Mountain was complex, with high peaks and dense forests, making it a very dangerous place.
It was also a likely hiding spot for the Mutated Beasts.
