Chapter 791: Chapter 781: Snatch It Back
The soft breathing of Melody Thorne came from the large bed in the hotel room. When Elias Hale turned his head over, he saw that Melody had already fallen asleep, making him chuckle slightly. How could this woman trust him so readily, without fearing that he was deceiving her?
The hotel was calm and peaceful, which stood in stark contrast to the storm raging at the Quinn Family. Throughout the entire night, Harold Chapman, along with his men, found nothing and uncovered no clues, and the same was true for Cole O’Connell.
...
After changing into clothes she usually disliked, Melody Thorne put on a hat and a wig and left the hotel with Elias Hale. He had a private car, one without license plates, capable of moving freely here.
When the car stopped, Melody realized that Elias had brought her to the place previously visited by the old doctor who had treated the Quinn Family.
"Does he have it here?" Melody Thorne stared at the dilapidated house.
"Yes," Elias replied, as the people around them had already been replaced by his own men. The rundown house was opened, and as they entered, the temperature inside was several degrees colder than outside, like a frozen morgue.
Elias Hale pressed something, causing a staircase leading underground to appear.
"Do you want to go down?" Elias turned back and looked at her. "There’s nothing frightening down there, just some body specimens."
"No," Melody shook her head decisively.
All she needed was for Elias Hale to help Jared Quinn. Whatever was down there had nothing to do with her.
Elias chuckled. "Wait here for me, it’ll just be ten minutes."
Melody didn’t know what he did down there, but she was getting rather cold.
Once she left the room, the difference between the inside and outside temperature was like night and day.
"Quickly, it’s them, catch them!" Suddenly, many people appeared around them, led by the old doctor who had visited the Quinn Family before and recognized Melody Thorne.
"Do not harm the woman, capture the man."
"Looks like you’ll have to save my life again," Elias Hale pressed a knife against Melody Thorne’s neck. "No one come closer, if anyone does, I’ll kill her!"
Everyone kept a wary eye on Elias Hale, while someone in the shadows drew a gun.
Elias’s men blocked their path, opened the car door, and let Melody Thorne get in, immediately starting the car.
Gunfire echoed continuously from behind, bullets cracking against the rear window glass.
After their car vanished, Jared Quinn and Leon Rivers’ vehicles arrived promptly.
"Mr. Quinn, I saw Madam was in that car, if you go after it now, you can definitely catch up," the old doctor emerged from the crumbling house, his face pale.
The man took away his most important possession.
Jared Quinn’s car sped after them, and he angrily instructed his men, "Ignore the woman, kill the man, retrieve the items."
"Yes, sir."
On the highway, Melody, who at first wasn’t that tense, suddenly felt a rush of anxiety seeing Jared Quinn’s car in pursuit, speeding fast.
"No need to worry, you’re in my car now. He won’t ram us directly," Elias Hale suddenly accelerated, flooring the gas pedal.
"Jared, we have to stop chasing," Leon Rivers advised, keeping an eye on the car ahead that was nearly airborne. "Melody’s in there, and she’s pregnant. This isn’t good for her. Since we know she’s still around, we’ll definitely get her back."
