Chapter 714: Chapter 714: Be Good, Let Go

"In a moment, just stick close to me and protect yourself and our child. Leave everything else to me. There’s no use for you to worry about who lives and who dies, that’s a man’s business."

"But, you’re hurt."

At the last minute, Melody Thorne wanted to change her mind, but she couldn’t avoid going inside. Kiki Sutton was still waiting in there.

"Don’t worry," Jared Quinn’s eyes were firm, giving her reassurance. "Trust me."

Melody Thorne’s phone vibrated, it was Hans Montrose calling.

"What? Still not getting out of the car?" Hans Montrose had already seen their car through the worn-out window, his charming peach blossom eyes darkened completely.

"Understood," Melody Thorne hung up the phone. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"Let’s get out," Jared Quinn took her hand and led her inside, ensuring she always stayed behind him as they walked. In this way, Jared Quinn was like a towering tree, shielding her from wind and rain.

Melody Thorne’s chest heaved as they entered the abandoned factory, glancing around in search of Kiki Sutton.

"Melody! Melody, don’t come over," Kiki Sutton shouted from the middle position downstairs, "Don’t come over, Hans Montrose is already crazy, he’s a madman, leave quickly, don’t mind me."

Melody Thorne looked up, seeing Kiki Sutton tied tightly, suspended from a thin wire on the third floor. Falling from such a height wouldn’t kill her, but she would surely be crippled.

Hans Montrose was ruthless.

"You’ve arrived," a hoarse voice floated down from upstairs. A wine-red suit wrapped around his tall figure, making him exceptionally dazzling; he was meticulously dressed, matching perfectly the ideal gentleman in the hearts of his fans.

But... he had taken the wrong path.

"Let Kiki go first," Melody Thorne suppressed her emotions.

Hans Montrose stood behind Kiki, his large hand slid around her waist, pulling her close to himself, his thin lips brushing against her cheek. "Do you think everyone is like you, wanting to push me so far away that you can’t even see me? Maybe, she needs me more than you do. At least, she’s had a crush on me for so many years..."

"Ah..." Kiki Sutton screamed, her whole face turning a ghastly pale. "I thought Ashton Young was the scummiest man in the world, but I didn’t expect you to be even worse, utterly inhumane!"

In the past, Hans Montrose might have reacted to such words, but now there was not even the slightest response from him. He released Kiki Sutton, his gaze landing on Melody Thorne, then turned to Jared Quinn, lightly spitting out two words, "Come up."

"Jared..." Melody Thorne tightened her grip on his large hand, her anxiety growing stronger.

"It’s okay, wait for me here."

Jared Quinn removed her fingers, remembering his words, "Stay where you are, don’t move, protect our child."

Upon entering the abandoned factory, he had already calculated it. From this position, he could see her no matter where he was in the factory. As long as she didn’t move, even if the factory collapsed, he could still shield her beneath him.

"Good, let go."

Jared Quinn unbuttoned his suit, draping it over her shoulders. "Be good, wait here."

The scene downstairs was rather glaring. Hans Montrose laughed at himself, also removing his suit. As Jared Quinn approached, he pressed the remote in his hand. Something resembling protective barriers appeared around, encircling Melody Thorne, and then the platform beneath her feet began to rise...

Jared Quinn turned his head, his eyes suddenly tightening, and he took large strides to go back.
