Chapter 53: Grandmaster Realm

"Damn... I leveled up so much."

Nova stared at his status screen in a daze. Even after everything that had happened, seeing the actual numbers still felt unreal. His level had skyrocketed in a single night, and the increase in his attributes was even more ridiculous.

"And look at those stats..."he couldn’t help but shake his head, the growth was simply absurd.

{Well, duh!}

Liya sounded as if she were stating the obvious.

{You killed two high-level Rank A demonic beasts. Even though the Chimera was ultimately finished off by your Deadborns, you still received a share of the experience. And don’t forget, for your Innate Skill, Infinite Adaptation Core, experience is everything.}

Nova nodded, that much was true. Without his Innate Skill, growth on this scale would’ve been impossible.

{In fact, you might be shocked to know that most people spend years trying to gain this many levels if their potential is lower than A and Unless they’re nobles or come from powerful backgrounds, they don’t have the luxury of hunting powerful beasts whenever they want.}

Liya continued,

{ As i have already told you, Some wealthy families even prepare heavily wounded half dead high level demonic beasts for their younger generation so they can secure easy experience and level up faster. Ordinary people could never dream of such opportunities.}

"Hmm... you’re right."

Nova clenched his fist and felt the overwhelming power flowing through his body.

"I feel ridiculously strong right now."And that was before he had even fully integrated his newly acquired stat points, once he adapted to them properly, his strength would increase even further.

Then his eyes drifted toward another section of his profile. The Evolution Points, a grin slowly appeared on his face."And look at all those Evolution Points."

His eyes practically sparkled.

"I can’t even imagine how many Gacha Keys I’m going to buy."

{Heh...}

Liya let out a mischievous laugh.

{You sound exactly like a gambling addict who just found a sack of money lying on the ground and immediately started thinking about where to place his next bet.}

Nova’s grin widened."That’s because unlike gambling addicts..."He glanced at the system,"my luck is actually good."

"Now that this is over, let’s deal with the hidden quest now."Nova looked at the three Imp Archons before pointing at one of them.

"Only one of you is enough."

The other two immediately obeyed and dissolved back into his shadow, leaving a single Imp Archon standing before him. Nova picked up the small Deadborn and placed it on his shoulder.

The creature instantly became nervous and confused. Through Eyes of the Legion, Nova could clearly sense its thoughts and couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Relax. You won’t be able to keep up with my speed anyway, so just show me the direction."

The Imp Archon immediately calmed down and nodded. With that settled, Nova shot forward through the city, following the directions provided by the Deadborn. As he moved across Frostholme’s rooftops, a thought suddenly crossed his mind.

"By the way, Liya, what exactly is the Grandmaster Rank Father was talking about?"

The conversation between Edward and Duke Theodore had caught his attention earlier, especially when they mentioned that only Grandmasters could truly compete among the kingdom’s greatest talents.

Liya hummed thoughtfully before replying.

{Hmm... I would’ve told you eventually once you became strong enough. It seems we’ve already reached that point. Grandmaster is the title given to those who have reached Levels 500 to 1000. } freēwēbnovel.com

{In most kingdoms and empires, Grandmasters are considered lower-tier experts. A single Grandmaster possesses enough power to influence entire regions, and many noble families treat them as strategic assets.} freewēbnoveℓ.com

Nova nodded in understanding."Hmm... so that’s what it means." However, instead of satisfying his curiosity, the answer only made him more curious.

"What about people above Level 1000?"

A brief silence followed before Liya let out an amused laugh.

{If I tell you everything now, there won’t be any fun left for the future. Just wait until the time is right. I’ll tell you when you’re ready, just like I did now.}

Nova clicked his tongue in annoyance. He didn’t like having information hidden from him, but he also knew there was no point arguing with Liya. Whenever she decided not to reveal something, getting an answer out of her was nearly impossible.

With a helpless sigh, he pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task ahead. Whatever lay beyond Level 1000 could wait.

Right now, the hidden quest was far more important, and judging by the urgency shown by the Imp Archon, whatever it had discovered inside Frostholme was likely connected to the Blood Moon Conspiracy.

...

Far away from the city walls, deep within Frostholme’s central area , two mysterious figures from earlier dressed in dark robes were hiding inside the abandoned building. Two of them were resting while waiting for news from the battlefield .

Everything should have been proceeding according to plan. By now, Frostholme should have already fallen beneath the beast tide, and the survivors should have been desperately fighting for their lives.

BANG!

Suddenly, the door burst open with a loud bang. Their third partener rushed inside in a panicked state. The two resting men were startled awake and immediately jumped to their feet.

"Wha—?! What the fuck happened?" one of them shouted.

The newcomer didn’t answer right away. His entire body was trembling uncontrollably. Although his face was hidden beneath a black mask, it was obvious that he was terrified.

Earlier, he had gone to investigate the battlefield and confirm whether Frostholme had finally been destroyed. Instead, what he witnessed had shaken him to his core.

"Why the fuck aren’t you speaking?" the other man shouted impatiently.

The trembling figure finally forced himself to speak.

"T-The plan... has failed." The room instantly fell silent.

"What?"

Both men stared at him as if they had misheard. "What the hell do you mean by that?"

The messenger swallowed hard before replying.

"All the beasts are dead. Even the three Rank A beasts are dead. The Hydra, the Chimera, and the Earth Dragon... all of them were killed. The casualties are far lower than expected, and all of Frostholme’s major powers survived, including Duke Theodore Frost."

The color immediately drained from the other two men’s faces.

"What the fuck did you just say?"

Their voices were filled with disbelief. A beast tide of that scale should have wiped Frostholme off the map. The appearance of three Rank A beasts alone should have guaranteed the city’s destruction.

"D-Did Duke Theodore kill the Rank A beasts?" one of them muttered. It was the only explanation he could think of, yet even as he said it, he knew something felt wrong.

Theodore Frost was powerful, but killing all three Rank A beasts while simultaneously protecting the city should have been impossible, even for him.

"No... he didn’t kill them."

The trembling man immediately shook his head.

"In fact, Duke Theodore didn’t kill a single Rank A beast. He spent the entire battle holding the frontlines and protecting the warriors. Most of his attention was focused on preventing the stronger beasts from breaking through the defensive line."

The two robed figures froze. If Theodore wasn’t responsible, then who was?

"Then who killed them?" one of them asked.

"And what about the battlefield itself? There is no way those warriors should’ve been able to defend against a beast tide of that scale. Their numbers were far too small."

The messenger’s body trembled even harder as the memories resurfaced.

"It wasn’t only the warriors."The room fell silent.

"What?"

The man took a deep breath before continuing. "There was another person."The moment those words left his mouth, both figures narrowed their eyes.

"Another person?"

Knock. Knock.

Before the man could say another word, a knock echoed through the room. All three men immediately looked at one another.

This building had been abandoned for years, left to rot in silence with no one ever setting foot inside. That was exactly why they had chosen it as the location for their plans.

Yet now, as an unexpected visitor arrived, unease crept into their hearts. Who could possibly have come here at a time like this?

One of them quickly gestured for another to check the door while warning him to be careful.

The man cautiously approached the entrance and slowly opened it to see who had arrived.

The moment the door opened, he froze. Standing outside was a tall masked man in long black robes .

Before he could react, the stranger spoke in a calm voice.

"Hello, motherfuckers."
