Chapter 34: Revenge completed
Nova noticed her reaction and couldn’t help but smile faintly. "So... how do I get out of here?" he asked, looking at her.
{Remember how you came inside. Just focus on the center of your forehead and think of getting out. You’ll be outside before you know it.}
Liya explained. Nova nodded and followed her instructions. Just as she had told him, he vanished from the system training space and reappeared outside, materializing out of thin air the same way he had disappeared minutes earlier.
The moment he appeared, Jenna’s voice echoed up to him. "Nova, come down to eat!"
"Coming, Mom!" Nova shouted back. He sat on his bed for a moment, pondering his next steps. Hmm... it’ll be noon soon, I’ll just spend some time with Mom first, then I’ll head back to Frostholme.
For now, he thought, let’s just go down to eat. I’m really hungry—I haven’t had a proper meal in a good while. He hoped Rieka had eaten something too; they hadn’t gotten the chance to eat properly that morning.
As Nova’s strength had grown, he could now go days without eating. Still, craving was different from hunger, and it was good for his mental health. Besides, his body could always use the extra energy, especially since starving for days absorb extra energy form his body or more precisely mana.
...
Jenna had prepared a lavish spread of special food for Nova—plenty of meat, eggs, and other high-protein dishes. Nova ate like a beast, devouring plate after plate at a ferocious pace. Jenna sat there across from him, watching her son with a beautiful, tender smile lighting up her face.
Her baby had been away from her. Even though it had only been a single day for her, nearly two weeks had passed for him . She wanted him to eat well, so she had made an abundance of food just for him.
After the meal, Nova spent some precious time with his mother. Though it was already past noon and he still had time to spare, he decided it was best to head out soon.
This was an emergency, after all. Who knew whether the city’s protective barrier would hold the beasts at bay? Honestly, Nova wasn’t delusional enough to believe he could face those creatures alone if things went wrong.
He was simply worried for Rieka and the other citizens. He knew there were powerhouses in Frostholme far stronger than him.
"I’ll be back before you know it, Mom... and don’t worry if I’m late this time. You know I’m way stronger now." Nova hugged his mother warmly.
Jenna was reluctant to let him leave, but she knew better—she couldn’t keep her son by her side forever. It was time for her baby to step out on his own, and it would be good for him. So she let him go. "Take care of yourself, honey, and stay together with your father."
Nova smiled warmly as he made his way toward the village exit. He ignored the curious stares from the villagers; he didn’t feel the need to explain who he was to them. When he reached the edge of the village, four boys were standing there, deep in conversation.
Nova recognized the group immediately. It was Lucas and his lackeys—the ones who had nearly killed the original Nova before he had transmigrated into this body.
He planned to take his revenge, and this was the perfect moment. Reaching Frostholme wouldn’t take much time, so he had some to spare.
The group noticed Nova as well. One of the boys called out, "Hey, you there! Who are you? Haven’t seen you around here."
Nova decided to play along for a bit. "Ah, sir, it’s me. Don’t you recognize me?" he asked in a meek tone that looked almost comical, given how sharply it clashed with his changed personality.
"Hmm? Me? Who?... Wait, you... you are that pussy Nova? What the fuck?" The boy was flabbergasted at the sight of this transformed version of the Nova he knew.
Even Lucas and the other boys were stupefied by the drastic change in Nova. But so what? They still didn’t see him as any real threat.
Lucas sneered, "You piece of shit... are you playing with me? We thought you were dead. Even during the awakening ceremony you looked like a scrawny bastard... How the fuck did you change this much?"
"Ah, sir... it’s because I drank a potion I bought from a merchant. He told me it would give me power, and it did," Nova continued the act.
"Hmm... is that so? Do you have more of it? Give me!" Lucas put his hand forward. But Nova grabbed it and clutched it tightly. The chubby boy screamed in pain.
"Ghaaaaaa!"
"You... you... leave... my hand! It’s going to break... my hand!"
Seeing this, the other three boys were stunned by Nova’s sudden retaliation. They were a little scared but still charged at him.
"You piece of shit... first you killed me. When I thought you’d say sorry after seeing me alive at the awakening ceremony, you still dare to show this arrogance," Nova cursed in rage as he slapped all four of them, the blows powerful enough to break their teeth and jaws.
Considering they had all awakened recently and were only slightly stronger than normal humans, Nova carefully controlled his strength. He needed to teach them a lesson without killing them. Then he got an idea.
Nova decided to use his new S-rank skill, Reality Override, which he had obtained from a gacha reward. He wove an illusion directly into the minds of the four boys who lay groaning on the ground in pain.
The illusion made them forget their agony entirely. In their minds, they saw each other as alluring women, their lust amplified to an overwhelming degree.
They began tearing at one another’s clothes, indulging in a carnal group act right there in the open—kissing hungrily, fucking each other with wild Passion.
Nova couldn’t bear to watch. A wave of nausea hit him, and he quickly slipped behind a tree at the edge of the forest to enjoy the villagers’ reactions from a safe distance.
The lewd sounds of their frantic act soon drew the attention of nearby villagers.
"What the fuck...? Ahh shit, what did I just watch!!"
"It’s that count’s son....look how they’re fucking each other."
"Arghh... I won’t be able to eat for a while now."
"Why did they decide to show their gay love show near my house?"
With his heightened hearing, Nova caught every word from afar. He couldn’t hold back his laughter any longer.
"Hahahahahaha!" He nearly teared up from laughing so hard.
{You are so evil, host.}
"What evil...? I helped them lose their virginity... Hahahaha!" After enjoying it to his satisfaction, Nova steadied himself.
"But I have to say, the skill consumed a lot of mana... even though I used it on such a small scale."
{Isn’t that obvious. That’s an S-rank skill, after all. It was only natural .}
"You’re right... Well, I’ve had my revenge. This will teach them a lesson. They won’t be able to show their faces to anyone, and that count’s son and his family name will be dragged through the dirt very soon."
.....
Nova moved with blinding speed, lightning crackling beneath his feet as he raced toward Frostholme. The journey took him the exact same amount of time it had to reach Clodrock.
It was still not evening, so he wouldn’t be able to meet Rieka at the city square yet—he had told her he would return by evening. That left him with some time on his hands, and he knew exactly what he needed to do. freewebnøvel.com
He would use his fusion skill to upgrade both his abilities and weapons. He also needed to thoroughly check how his class worked before facing any real battle.
It wasn’t that he had to fight the beast tide himself, but as an adventurer and a registered member of the Frostholme Hunters Guild, every opportunity to grow mattered.
The more he fought powerful opponents, the stronger he would become. With that in mind, Nova decided to head back to the inn where he had stayed with Rieka the previous night to properly test his new skill.
As Nova passed through the city gates, he observed the stark change in Frostholme’s atmosphere. It was utterly different from the bustling morning scene. Street vendors and shops were now shuttered, and only a handful of people moved cautiously through the streets.
It was obvious the news had spread throughout the city. People valued their lives above all else, so those without the strength or courage to protect themselves had chosen to remain indoors.
City guards, knights, and adventurers could be seen in large numbers, preparing intently for the coming battle. Their faces were etched with nervousness and anxiety.
Nova realized that many of them had never fought with their lives truly on the line. It took a certain amount of hard-won experience and courage to overcome that primal fear. On the other hand, Nova had faced conditions a thousand times harsher, so he felt no such struggle.
And the fact that Frostholme had long been a peaceful place had caused its defenders to lower their guard and slacken their training. It was only natural, then, for them to show fear in the face of this sudden threat.
But from what Nova understood, this beast tide was not a natural occurrence—it had been deliberately forced toward the city.
Yet the question of who could be behind such a sinister plot lingered in his mind. For now, he decided to leave those concerns to the Duke and the other powerful figures in charge.
Nova reached the inn and checked in once more. The stay had been paid for one full day, and since Rieka had already covered it, his room was still available.
He stepped inside the quiet space and sat on the bed, its crisp bedsheets freshly changed after their passionate fun the previous night.
Let’s check it out then. First, I’ll use the skill, and then I’ll figure out how my class works. "How do I exactly use it, Liya?" Nova asked.
{It’s not that hard. You just need to select skills that are compatible with each other. If they’re compatible, the fusion will work. If not, it won’t. The process is simple—select the skills you want to merge.}
{It could be two or three at a time. Just act
ivate your fusion skill. It will consume mana and there will be a cooldown afterward. As for how much, we’ll know once you use it.}
