Chapter 172: Aftermath : Two Heroes Who Sacrificed Themselves
After defeating the three giant monsters easily because they both worked together and ganged up on the monsters one by one as they came, Dennis carried Daisy then flew toward the city, but before that, they stopped for a moment inside the crater where Railey had vanished. Daisy knelt right in the center of the crater and took some soil then gripped it,
"Now you are at peace, sister," she said softly.
Then she shed tears and cried in silence; Dennis, who was standing beside her, crouched down then hugged her. After a few moments, once Daisy had calmed down,
"We have to go back," Dennis said.
[Wait a moment, Master, please look at the condition of the city.]
An interface appeared and displayed a broadcast of the city’s atmosphere; it showed almost everyone cheering because the sky had turned bright again, the government decided to open the domes and the warmth of the sunlight entered to illuminate the city. The soldiers and hunters stood on guard in front of the gates of Emerald City and Ruby City to welcome the two heroes who had banished the darkness; seeing this, Dennis immediately got goosebumps,
"Oh boy... is there any way we can skip the whole welcome thing... I don’t want to be a hero or anything like that... I just want to live a normal life," Dennis said.
[It is possible, Master, would you like me to replace the hero figures in their memories regarding the recent events?]
"Huh... you can? If you can, then definitely yes," Dennis said.
"Yeah, that’s right... I don’t want to be famous and popular either, please help us, Sami," Daisy added.
[Very well, wait a moment.]
The interface vanished; Dennis and Daisy sat on the ground and looked up, enjoying the splash of sunlight above them.
"Skrieeek,"
Dennis and Daisy turned their heads; a dimensional rift opened near them and several crawlers emerged to attack. With a single flick of his hand, Dennis killed every crawler that came out along with the rift itself.
"Hey... even though it’s bright now, dimensional rifts are still appearing?" Dennis asked casually.
"Yeah... I thought everything was finished," Daisy added lightheartedly.
[Even though the darkness has vanished, the remaining monsters still exist, and the source of the dimensional rifts at the center of the darkness is still there. Do you want to go there and save the world, Master?]
Dennis and Daisy turned to look at each other; both immediately smiled and snorted while shrugging their shoulders,
"No need, just let the hunters handle it. Like I said before, I want to live a normal life. Besides, humans are used to living and fighting crawlers; if they’re removed, people will have no work and might just start wars with each other, right... so just leave it," Dennis said.
"Yep... exactly. What matters is our business is settled, hehe," Daisy added.
[Very well... this is the new broadcast that everyone remembers.]
Dennis and Daisy watched the footage on the interface that appeared again; it turned out the broadcast showed the fight against the transformed Ray versus Dennis and Daisy. But in the end, the footage didn’t show Dennis’s scream, but rather the sacrifice of Dennis and Daisy to stop Ray and kill him, causing the darkness to break open with Ray’s death. Then a moment later, a new interface opened showing the atmosphere in the two cities; both cities were mourning the fall of the two heroes who sacrificed themselves to save the world.
Furthermore, the heroes who sacrificed themselves were also changed—it wasn’t Dennis and Daisy, but two people wearing masks with their faces and hair hidden, plus they wore cloaks so their body shapes weren’t visible. Dennis and Daisy felt a little strange watching it, but they were smiling and relieved.
[Is that all, Master?]
"Yeah... thanks," Dennis said.
"But... how do we get home? If we fly, we’ll definitely be seen, right?" Daisy asked.
"Hmm... you’re right," Dennis replied, thinking hard.
[I can teleport you directly to your home, Master.] freewebnovёl.ƈom
"Hmm... okay then, but Destiny is at Dad and Mom’s house... how about going to their house instead?" Dennis answered.
[Very well... is there anything you want to say to the Master, Madam?]
Dennis immediately turned to look at Daisy beside him, who looked a bit shy; then Daisy glanced at Dennis and looked back ahead,
"What is it? Why are you acting so suspicious?" Dennis asked.
"Um... it’s nothing... I’m not sure yet. Let’s go, Sami, let’s head out, but can you take us to the pharmacy in the shopping area near Mom’s house," Daisy answered.
[Very well, I will teleport you.]
Finally, the two vanished and appeared in an alleyway between shop buildings in Ruby City. When they stepped out of the alley, Daisy immediately let go of Dennis’s hand and went into the pharmacy. After that, she was inside for a long time, making Dennis feel a bit restless; then he remembered his dream again and finally asked,
"Sami, am I actually still alive in the real world? I dreamed I woke up in the real world," Dennis said in his head.
[...]
"Why are you silent, you’re hiding something, aren’t you... in that dream, you appeared as a doctor named Samantha," Dennis said.
[Very well Master... because you have experienced it, yes, you are still alive and in a coma in the real world... but, you can choose. If you stay here, you will continue to fight crawlers because crawlers are part of this world and the entire world is destroyed; if you choose to return, you will wake up in the real world but in your original condition. Don’t worry, your wife is also there because she is also in a coma there.]
Dennis was silent hearing Sami’s words, not because he was thinking of a decision but because it turned out his dream was true: he was still alive in the real world and in a coma. While Dennis was thinking, suddenly the pharmacy door opened; Daisy stepped out while hiding her hands behind her back, her face looking pale and anxious. Naturally, Dennis forgot what he was thinking about and approached Daisy,
"Hey, what is it?" Dennis asked anxiously.
"Um... this," Daisy answered shyly.
Daisy pulled something from behind her and gave it to Dennis; immediately Dennis looked at the object in his hand, his eyes widening because in his hand was a test pack that had been used and it turned out there were two red lines there. Dennis rubbed his eyes and looked again at the object in his hand, then he realized that Daisy was inside for a long time because maybe she used the test pack before coming out, then he turned to look at Daisy,
"You’re... pregnant?" Dennis asked.
"Yep... I tested yesterday... and now again," Daisy answered shyly.
Dennis immediately picked Daisy up and hugged her while spinning, then he kissed Daisy passionately. After that, he looked back at the test pack in his hand,
"We have to tell Dad and Mom... then go to the doctor for a check-up," Dennis said cheerfully.
"Yeah... Destiny is going to have a sibling, hehe," Daisy replied.
[Congratulations, Master, Madam.]
"Thanks, Sami," Daisy replied.
Finally, they walked cheerfully toward the housing complex where William and Elenor lived, Dennis’s childhood home, to pick up Destiny and tell them about this happy news, as well as to explain the reunion of Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, and Daphne with the true Daisy.

Nine months later, in a hospital hallway, right in front of the delivery room, Dennis was pacing back and forth in front of the door, freeweɓnovel.cѳm
"Son... sit down, you’re making everyone nervous and anxious," said William, who was holding Destiny on his lap.
"Yes, Dennis, seeing you pacing like that makes me feel unsettled," Elenor added.
"Calm down, Dennis... Daisy has given birth before, so there shouldn’t be any problems, it’s okay, sit here," Martha chided.
"Yeah bro, you’re making me panic, you know," Gary said.
"Same... just relax," Olivia added.
"Sit down, dude, I’m going crazy watching you pace like that," Jason said.
"Sigh... come here."
Kimberly stood up and pulled Dennis’s hand to make him sit with her and Jason. Dennis could see that everyone’s faces were anxious as they waited for the results, except for Destiny, who wouldn’t stop talking to William, her grandfather.
"Damn... the problem is I know that Daisy has never actually given birth... hopefully everything is okay," Dennis said in his head.
Not long after, "waaah... waaah... waaah," a chorus of crying voices was heard from inside the room. Dennis immediately stood up and burst inside. Once inside, he froze and didn’t move; the reason was that he saw six nurses holding six newborn babies and all of them were girls. He immediately approached Daisy, who looked weak and sweaty, her chest heaving; he sat next to Daisy’s bed and stroked her forehead as she turned to look at him with a smile.
"Thank you, honey, you fought so hard," Dennis said, kissing Daisy’s forehead.
"Yes... our children are girls, and there are six," Daisy said.
"Sextuplets? How is that possible? I don’t think it showed up on the ultrasound, right?" Dennis asked.
"I don’t know myself," Daisy replied.
"But... indeed during the pregnancy... your belly was so big, you had trouble walking," Dennis said.
"Yes... it’s truly a miracle," Daisy said weakly.
Then the nurses brought over the six baby girls, who looked slightly smaller than normal babies, but they were all healthy and glowing red. Seeing the six babies laid down and Dennis holding one baby, Dennis and Daisy immediately turned to look at each other; something clicked in their heads and both were instantly moved to tears.
"We meet again... Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, Daphne," Dennis said while looking at the babies being laid down and the one he hugged.
"Yes... it’s clearly them. Finally... we are truly a family," Daisy said.
They looked at those six baby girls and embraced each other; happiness truly filled their hearts and their tears flowed freely from joy with wide smiles.
[So, do you want to return to the real world or stay here, Master?]
"The answer is obvious, isn’t it? I’m staying here with my family," Dennis replied.
[Very well, Master.]

The real world: William and Elenor stood next to Dennis’s bed as he lay there; they saw several nurses covering Dennis’s face with a sheet and the doctor reading out his time of death. William and Elenor cried sadly until they hugged each other, seeing his body lying stiff on the hospital bed.
They had no idea that their son was living in another version of the world, happy with his wife and his children along with other versions of themselves. Meanwhile, in the middle of Emerald City and Ruby City, the inauguration of the statues of the two heroes who sacrificed themselves to erase the darkness from the world was officially unveiled today and broadcasted on a massive scale across social media, news, and city announcements.
