Chapter 1620: Chapter 1619: Practically The Same
All five of my pups were caked in sweat, dirt and grime, yet none of them seemed to mind that whatsoever as they continued to swing their blades at the dummies in front of them, doing everything that their Mom had told them to do.
Anput prowled behind them and watched on as they swung, stabbed, slashed and otherwise beat down those enchanted dummies, offering small bits of advice here or there whenever she felt it was necessary.
Two months had passed ever since I had agreed to letting them train, and by this point all of my pups were meant to be considered children and not toddlers, yet... they still looked so ’small’ despite having grown so much already.
Camilla was by far the largest, standing at four and a half feet whilst the rest of her siblings were four feet and then some, and while that might not be taller than they had been previously the difference was how they looked.
That nice layer of baby fat was gone on all of them, causing their frames to thin out considerably and give me a new set of worries as I wondered if they were somehow becoming malnourished, while they also began to build up cords of muscle across their bodies.
Their features were a bit sharper and their eyes were glowing with this familiar light that made me both proud and sad whenever I saw it, because I knew that it meant they were getting to be grown quicker than they ’should’ be growing.
My reverie about their growth was paused as Leone sat down beside me to murmur "You’re ’mourning’ them again, aren’t you?", the teasing tone to her voice making me frown as I contemplated pinching her for being so... right.
But I just sighed and quietly replied "I can’t help it when I see them like this. Not so long ago they were crawling around begging me to throw a ball for them or lay on the floor instead of on a couch so that they could sleep on top of me. Now..."
Gabrielle sat on Leone’s lap and tilted her head as she watched her half siblings, her ruddy red eyes glowing with curiosity that she kept to herself, not asking anything; she was a quiet little thing, with no clear desire to want to be as physical as her Caninekin half siblings.
She was just like how Alessandra was to Lakshmi; content to just observe and keep her distance if possible, otherwise she would make a great attempt to convince them to quiet down and go to sleep since that was easier.
"Things have changed quite quickly. I would say it is most certainly for the better though, since they no longer spend the entire day attempting to murder one another or bounce off of the walls all around us."
I just nodded in agreement even though I felt that she should be a bit more ’kind’ with how she said that, though as we watched them for a few minutes more I really did agree that this was better... yet seeing them collapse after Anput gave them a break only made me realize I missed more than I thought I would.
Usually they would have run to me by now complaining about their aches, their hunger, or just wanting to be with their Mama for whatever reason, but now they were content to just lean against the dummies they had been beating while chatting amongst themselves.
The combat training had helped Zariah come out of her shell a little bit, while Astra just seemed to enjoy the exercise since she knew she wasn’t that good at what she was doing; on the flipside Camilla, Samara and Nicoletta were showing some serious talent in what they were doing.
Different flavors of talent but talent nonetheless, especially when we weren’t even able to take a look at what their Cores were like just yet; adding magic to their training was going to be interesting, especially if they end up inheriting the combined elements that Anput and I have. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Again my thoughts were interrupted as Nicoletta pushed herself off of the ground and stumbled over towards me, throwing herself onto my lap and laying there before suddenly the other four all rushed on over at the same time.
A barrage of lean, sweaty and suddenly enthusiastic children launching themselves at me was certainly something, but what it was the most of was welcome as I tried my best to fit them all in my arms, though like always that just invited argument amognst them all.
"Did you see how good I was, Mama? Did you?"
Camilla gave me a grin before she clicked her tongue when Nicoletta interjected "Mama, Mother told me that I did really good!", which in turn made Samara frown as she said "Mother was watching me the most!"
Before it could spiral like it usually did, I pressed a kiss against their brows and warmly said "I saw it all, my pups, and you all did wonderfully~! Now I know you all want to keep going, but how about we go upstairs to take a bath, have something to eat and enjoy some time on the couch?", which immediately earned me a chorus of agreement.
"Ooh! Mama, can we have that cheesy pasta for dinner?"
"Mama, I want meat!"
"Meat!"
Yet even when they were all in agreeance for the general idea of what was going to happen, the details sparked another argument that caused them to scrap the entire way upstairs, which I let happen if only because it might wear them out just a little more...
Instead the arguments only spiked the moment we were in the bath since there were five of them and only two of my breasts, and we - meaning us adults - had long agreed that the only people who could be in the bath together would be Mother and I since the others...
Well, all of them had very clear ’reactions’ whenever we were in the bath together, so that made it impossible for Anput and I to be in here together; Mother was currently out which meant it was just me now, so... things got hectic immediately.
