Chapter 13: Potato, Potato
"Ahem. I don’t really want to disturb you two, but the ramen is over and I was going to get a cup noodle, so are you still going to share or should I bring you another?" Rhea interrupted the moment between Andrea and Fredrinn.
She herself didn’t know why she chose to do it, as she never usually interrupted Andrea at all.
Maybe it was because it was unsafe and scary out there, and her anxiousness was getting the better of her? freewēbnoveℓ.com
Andrea turned to look at Rhea.
The look in her eyes was scary, but by the relaxed body language no one could even notice that Andrea was mad at Rhea.
That’s just how much in the character she was.
Andrea had always been an actor since an early age, going into small advertisements and any minor role she could find.
Her goal was to become a celebrity, but then this happened.
And as the elder sister, Andrea had more power over Rhea.
But luckily for Rhea, Fredrinn was also present on the table and unlike Andrea’s fake calmness, he was actually relaxed.
There was no ticking timer over his head about the quest and the apocalypse outside didn’t scare him even a little, he was more than ready to take his sweet time getting his ’voluntary thralls’.
More importantly he wanted information about his birthplace, the city that could give him at least a slightest clue about his parents and family.
All he knew was their names, but he doubted that would help. Hell, he didn’t even remember the surname since surnames were a thing of nobility in Apolasia.
Shaking the thoughts off his head, he gently turned to Rhea and smiled, "Of course I will share, I already had to waste my food because of your choice earlier. I am still hungry."
Rhea clicked her tongue, "Don’t blame it on me, mister. I warned you not to put too much sauce in it."
Fredrinn shrugged his shoulders, "You said it would be spicy, and I can handle the spice. You never mentioned that it would ruin the entire balance of the dish."
"Potato potato." She mumbled with a small pout before quickly pushing herself off the table and leaving promptly.
’Huh?’ Fredrinn was confused. Why did she say the same word with different pronunciation?
Was that supposed to be an insider joke? Should he laugh?
In the end he decided to chuckle softly and throw the incident out of his mind. No point thinking about it.
Though his soft chuckle gave Andrea quite a few wrong ideas. In addition, since Fredrinn’s head was turned in Rhea’s direction at the moment, she thought that he was getting a fancy for her dorky, stupid little sister.
That thought in itself was blasphemous. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
How could he like her more than Andrea herself?
If he was a normal guy she would’ve left at a moment’s notice, but the man beside her was not only handsome, but also an awakener!
She didn’t know how rare that was, but considering that in a group of 30 people only two were awakeners, it must be quite rare.
"So, Freddy, sharing noodles now, hmm?" Andrea teased from the side, leaning her cheek on her palm as she gazed at him sideways.
The angle of her posture gave him a clear vision of her bust, but she didn’t mind.
"Freddy?" Fredrinn turned to look back at her with a slight smile, mildly amused, "Didn’t we agree over Fredrinn before?"
Andrea grinned widely, "Indeed! I was just checking if you were paying attention to me or busy with your thoughts."
Fredrinn’s eyes dipped down towards her tantalizing cleavage that was practically begging for attention before he pulled them back into her eyes.
It was intentional on his part, as he wanted to make his intent more clearer with Andrea. For the smart and cunning women like her, this approach worked better as they would rather cut to the chase.
"Surely you’re jesting, Andrea." Fredrinn chuckled, "How can I not pay attention to you?"
The reply pleased Andrea who casually tucked her hair behind her ear, "Good good, so what’s really the reason for you infiltrating our little group by impersonating the poor cutie’s boyfriend, hmm? Don’t tell me it’s for me." She faked a gasp.
"Haah, that would’ve been a fine reason to come here indeed, but as I said, it was because I was stranded, alone and confused. I couldn’t find anyone in my vicinity, so I did what I had to."
Andrea giggled, "I can understand."
Fredrinn looked forward and saw Rhea returning with the cup noodles in her hand.
"So how’s your relationship with your sister?" He asked casually, turning back to Andrea.
"It’s alright." She replied briefly, not seemingly interested in the topic as she noticed Rhea approaching.
But when Fredrinn didn’t speak to fill the silence, she felt compelled to continue.
"I am the talkative one, she’s the silent one. We came here to pursue our dreams. I wanted to become a celebrity and she wanted to study. But now, we are just stuck in this storage room."
Fredrinn nodded, "So do you want to get out of this basement soon?"
Andrea roamed her eyes around the well lit, clean area. "This place is great. It has the available food, decent protection, electricity also seems to be working for now..." She mumbled, sighing, "But yeah, I do want to get out of here. Soon? I don’t know. But if? Yeah."
"Understandable."
"What about you?"
"Me, well, me too." Fredrinn sighed, "I want to reunite with my family. Find them. Help them stay safe, stuff like that."
Andrea glanced at his face, noticing how he had a sad smile talking about his family. It tugged at her emotions slightly as she remembered about the people who genuinely cared about her, and those were quite few to be honest.
She took a small pause, turning to look at Rhea who had reached the table and was pulling a seat for herself while placing the cup noodles on the table.
"If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? Like, where is your family at?" Andrea asked lightly, keeping up the conversation.
