Chapter 2976: Chapter 2495: They’ve Never Really Been Together

The White family lived in the wealthy area in the south of Closia.

It’s not hard to imagine the prices of the houses nearby.

However, those casually priced hundreds of millions dollars mansions were nothing to Madam White.

She and Sir White prepared a dowry for Joanna Lawrence.

The dowry list included various luxury houses and cars worth hundreds of millions, all of which were considered basic. Half of White Group’s stocks were also allocated to Joanna without her knowledge.

With those stocks’ annual dividends, buying luxury houses and cars was like child’s play.

"Mom, how can you buy us a house? We should be the ones buying you a house, to show our filial respect." Joanna leaned on Madam White, speaking in a soft, delicate voice.

Madam White happily narrowed her eyes into a smile, "Good child, as long as you and Ashton live happily together, your happiness is all I need. I don’t need anything else."

"By the way, do you know what happened with your brother? He and Winnie were doing well before, right? How did they suddenly break up?" Madam White changed the topic and showed her concern.

"I asked Gary, but he wouldn’t tell me the truth. Joanna, do you know what happened? Did Gary do something wrong to Winnie, causing her to break up with him?"

Madam White didn’t know about the things Diana Kinsman had done.

So when Gary told her that he had broken up with Diana, Madam White was both angry and sad, holding a grudge and worrying about the situation for days.

Her son, who had been single for thirty years, finally brought a girlfriend home, and they broke up before they had been together too long.

Madam White had thought she would soon see her son marry a daughter-in-law.

She even thought that she might have a grandchild by next year.

But Gary’s sudden breakup dealt her a considerable blow.

"Didn’t Gary tell you why he broke up with Diana?" Joanna heard Madam White’s question and knew Gary probably hadn’t told her the truth, or else she wouldn’t doubt Gary’s intentions.

"When I asked him, he said they were just incompatible. But, I don’t believe that." Madam White felt upset as she talked about the matter, "Joanna, you must know the reason. Can you tell me why they broke up?"

"Gary finally got a girlfriend, and they broke up like this, it’s such a pity." Mom said.

What Madam White worried more about was if Gary lost interest in women after this breakup or worse, if he chose to be single his whole life.

Joanna hesitated for a moment.

"Is there something you can’t say?" Madam White saw Joanna’s continued silence and her frown deepened, "Did Gary really wrong her? If it’s his fault, I must give him a scolding."

"No, Gary didn’t do anything wrong to her." Joanna didn’t want to upset Madam White with the truth, but also didn’t want her to misunderstand Gary. After struggling for a while, she sighed, "Mom, the truth is... Gary and Diana were never really together."

Joanna felt that Madam White would find out the truth sooner or later, so she might as well tell her now.

Otherwise, she might still think about getting Diana and Gary back together.

"What?!" Madam White was stunned, "You mean they were never really together? Joanna, what do you mean?"

"They never actually dated."
