Chapter 2961: Chapter 2479: You are really going too far
Madam Heath no longer said anything, but asserted: "I’m not against you leaving some money for your daughter. But there’s one thing I insist that you shouldn’t do. Diana Kinsman is currently detained in the police station. I won’t allow you to bail her out."
"She almost injured my precious great-grandson. I absolutely won’t agree unless she receives some punishment."
Darren Heath composed himself and responded: "Yes, I understand."
"If any of you have any objections, you may raise them now." After Darren Heath finished speaking, he turned to Brandon Heath and Ashton Heath, "Do you have any opinions on the matter I just discussed?"
"Dad, I don’t have any objections. It’s your money and you’re free to distribute it any way you wish." Ashton Heath’s own wealth was already countless. He had never considered how the elders should allocate their property; naturally, he had no objections to Darren Heath’s arrangement.
He didn’t care whether he received a share.
Even if Darren Heath gave all his assets to Diana Kinsman, Ashton Heath wouldn’t think anything of it.
He could earn his own money.
As for the elders’ endowment, it was just icing on the cake.
"I don’t have any objections either." Brandon Heath stated, "It’s your property, you can distribute it however you want, there’s no need to consult us."
"Very well then, since none of you have any objections, this matter is finalized."
"Sister-in-law, what on earth is going on? One moment everything’s fine, then suddenly, you and Brandon are getting divorced. And who is this Diana Kinsman, this daughter... how come Brandon suddenly has another daughter?" Lady Delilah looked at Lady Octavia who had been silent and crying quietly, anxiously tugging at her arm. "Sister-in-law, say something. What exactly is going on with you and Brandon?"
"How can you just suddenly get divorced? Could it be, could it be..." The color suddenly drained from Lady Delilah’s face, "Could it be because Brandon has another woman outside? Is this so-called daughter his illegitimate child with another woman?"
"Sister-in-law, did you divorce Brandon because of this?"
Before Lady Octavia could utter a word, Lady Delilah already accepted it as the truth. She turned to Darren Heath, "Brandon, how could you do this to our sister-in-law? You have gone too far."
Darren Heath pursed his lips, offering no explanation for himself.
Lady Delilah took it as confirmation that he had indeed been unfaithful to Lady Octavia.
Furious, she scolded Darren Heath: "Our sister-in-law is gentle, virtuous, and good at managing family affairs. She has given birth to two outstanding sons for you. What more could you want, Brandon, that you would go out and philander?"
"Now, you even plan to distribute your property to your illegitimate daughter. Have you considered how our sister-in-law feels about this? Have you even thought about how the rest of us feel? Brandon, you..."
"Enough, stop talking now. You don’t even know the whole story yet, so why are you blaming Brandon?" Damien Heath interrupted Lady Delilah’s speculative tirade with furrowed brows.
"Did I say something wrong?" Lady Delilah retorted indignantly, "If I did, why hasn’t Brandon defended himself? When I arrived, I saw our sister-in-law silently weeping. Wouldn’t she only be like this if she was greatly wronged?"
"Brandon isn’t that kind of person," Damien Heath said, a hint of anger in his voice, "Stop spouting non-sense."
"So if Brandon didn’t wrong our sister-in-law, then why are they getting a divorce? Could it be that our sister-in-law wronged Brandon instead?"
