Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Chen Ze Implying Something
Chen Ze was contemplating a problem in the kitchen, which was the timeline Saitama belonged to.
Chen Ze had only watched the "One Punch Man" anime, and although he had read the manga at the beginning, it had been a long time since he last read it, so his memory was not very clear.
"But I guess he hasn’t met Genos yet?" Chen Ze scratched his head. If he had already met Genos, Chen Ze found it hard to imagine that the former wouldn’t follow his teacher into the restaurant.
Chen Ze glanced at the recipe, the dough for his noodles was ready, and now he just needed to continue making the peach blossom pastry.
"I feel... I might not be well-suited for handicrafts?" Chen Ze looked at the unidentified object in front of him, the corner of his mouth twitching.
According to the pictures on the recipe, there should be petal-shaped objects in front of Chen Ze, but what was actually in front of him looked like a big lump of dough, with no semblance of petals.
"Tsk, I’ll ask Lao Su when I go to class tomorrow," Chen Ze shook his head, guessing that the peach blossom pastry was a failed attempt.
Chen Ze poked his head out to look, Saitama had already finished all the dumplings and braised pork, and now was enjoying Paluda with a contented face.
Chen Ze smiled; he felt his restaurant was becoming more and more interesting, and by now he had a rough understanding of the content of his "System" upgrade.
"So it appears in more planes..." Chen Ze gazed absentmindedly at his phone, feeling that he would become more and more excited about his future customers.
If even Saitama showed up, then perhaps one day he could see Naruto and Sasuke eating hotpot here, or Luffy and Garp enjoying barbecue...
"Hm?" Chen Ze shook his head, feeling like he had thought of something crucial but just couldn’t recall the specifics.
"Manager, I’m here~" The next second, Chen Ze heard Betty’s voice.
"Who are you? A freak?" Then he heard Saitama’s voice.
Chen Ze immediately rushed out, knowing that Saitama typically solved things with monsters in one punch. If Saitama thought Betty was a monster and decided to help Chen Ze deal with this "trouble," then that would be quite the story.
As soon as Chen Ze rushed out, he saw Betty smiling and trying to explain, and Saitama, who completely didn’t understand what Betty was saying.
"So they don’t speak the same language." Chen Ze scratched his head. But then again, it made sense: Saitama was surely speaking Japanese, while Betty was speaking the language of humans from another world.
"Betty, this is our customer, go and change your clothes," Chen Ze called out to Betty, then turned to look at Saitama.
However, Betty was looking at Saitama with a puzzled face, sensing that this customer was different from those they had served before.
"Guest, I apologize. This is our restaurant’s waitress," Chen Ze explained with a smile.
"So this is that kind of restaurant, huh, just like those... maid cafes?" Saitama obviously misunderstood something, taking Betty for a waitress in special attire.
"No, no, no, Betty is actually a succubus." Chen Ze quickly shook his head, he didn’t want to run that type of restaurant, though the idea didn’t seem too bad.
"I see, I’m full, manager," Saitama stood up and then looked at Chen Ze expectantly.
"When is your next special offer day here?" Saitama was looking forward to the next special offer day when he could eat such delicious dishes for only a hundred yen, feeling that it was a great deal.
"Every day when the door appears, it’s a special discount day, but dear customer, our restaurant’s portal only appears in specific places, so..." Chen Ze was a bit torn; he couldn’t possibly expect Saitama to keep watch over that door all the time. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"I see, that’s amazing, luckily that weirdo showed up on my balcony," Saitama’s words reassured Chen Ze quite a bit.
"Welcome back anytime." Chen Ze smiled and sent Saitama on his way, then called Betty down to clean up.
"Manager, about the customer just now?" Betty asked while washing the dishes.
"That was one of our restaurant’s customers," Chen Ze looked at Betty oddly, he remembered having already discussed this matter with her.
"No, I mean, the customer just now felt different from the others..." Betty blinked, she always felt that the customer just now had a strange aura about him.
"It’s like... just like that previous one," Betty recalled the new maid-form Hastur.
Chen Ze glanced at Betty and continued to marinate his pork chop, he didn’t feel like explaining to Betty that anime characters were coming to his restaurant, otherwise Betty could keep asking until closing time.
"Manager, what kind of person was that customer?" Betty said, expertly put the clean dish into the sterilizer cabinet and closed it.
"That one, he’s a hero who does it for fun," Chen Ze thought back to Saitama from the anime, that powerful Saitama, who despite having the ability to dominate the world, lived quite miserably.
Even though Genos provided plenty of rent money, Saitama would still go buy sale items at the supermarket and order only a serving of fries at a family restaurant.
"A hero?" Betty blinked, recalling the heroes’ tales she had heard from minstrels in the human world.
"The kind who slays dragons to save princesses?" Chen Ze chuckled at Betty’s question.
"Not exactly, more like the kind who kills giant monsters to save the world, and who does so anonymously." Since Genos didn’t come in, that probably meant Saitama hadn’t joined the Hero Association yet either.
"Anyway, there will be more and more new customers in the future, many of whom are like Saitama; don’t be too surprised," Chen Ze said this as he handed the Arcane Wisdom Slab to Betty.
"Touch this before you start work, or you might not be able to communicate with them." Chen Ze didn’t want to have to personally attend to every new customer that came in the future; that would be too exhausting.
"Alright, Manager!" Betty obediently touched the slab.
"That must be tough on you too, having to wipe the slab every time you bathe," Chen Ze suddenly remarked.
"Hm? Manager, does this slab need to be wiped?" Betty looked at Chen Ze, puzzled.
"No, no, no, there’s no need; just leave the slab here and touch it when you come to work," Chen Ze of course wasn’t going to reveal his true thoughts from earlier.
Betty walked out with a towel but couldn’t shake a feeling of profound dejection.
"Why... why do I suddenly feel like my soul has been struck by something?"
Chen Ze looked at the marinated pork chop and put it in the frying pan, with Betty around, he could start cooking the employee meal.
"Oh oh, is this also a restaurant?" The sound of the Wind Chime mixed with an unfamiliar voice drifted in.
