Chapter 64: Chapter Sixty-Four His Name

"What does that person look like, exactly?" Chen Ze was becoming more and more curious. He really wanted to know what a being, whose name could not even be mentioned, was like.

"This... I can’t describe his specific appearance..." Lafra hesitated for a moment, and her answer surprised Chen Ze.

"Is he that powerful?" Chen Ze grew even more curious. After all, Lafra was considered an extremely powerful entity in her world.

"It’s not exactly about power. It’s just that... well... I can’t describe what He looks like. It’s like you see Him, but you don’t know how to describe Him." Lafra shook her head; the other party might be strong, very strong, terrifyingly strong, but it wasn’t to the extent that she couldn’t describe His appearance.

"emmmm indescribable?" For some reason, Chen Ze suddenly remembered a book he had read before.

"What does He wear? Or does He have any distinguishing features?" Chen Ze pondered, wondering if it might be Cthulhu from the Cthulhu Mythos again, handing out candy.

Chen Ze was a novel enthusiast. For him, reading novels was a perfect pastime, whether resting or eating.

And it was for this reason that Chen Ze came to know about Cthulhu.

"He... wears a robe of yellow and dons something that looks like a mask..." Lafra tried hard to think and actually did recall some features of the entity.

Chen Ze was stunned. He had asked casually, not really expecting it to be a being from the Cthulhu Mythos.

The yellow robe was the most distinct characteristic of that Ancient Ruler. After all, Chen Ze had seen characters derived from it in the mobile games he had played before.

"The one you’re talking about, It’s not Hastur, is it?" Chen Ze asked jokingly because he thought it was unlikely—how could Earth’s mythical systems have spread to other worlds?

What Chen Ze didn’t expect was for Lafra to look at him with a mix of fear and surprise, which gave Chen Ze a rather ominous feeling.

"How do you know His name?" Lafra’s question made Chen Ze realize that it was truly Hastur who had been causing chaos in another world!

Now Chen Ze also understood why he had experienced that nightmare the previous night. If it had indeed been the Ancient Ruler Hastur near his restaurant, such an event was indeed possible.

But Chen Ze remembered that Hastur represented the wind, so why would the content of the nightmare involve deep diving? This made him wonder if Cthulhu had handed out candy to him instead.

"Have you sealed Him up again?" Chen Ze asked urgently; it was already late at night, and who knew when Hastur might arrive. freewёbnoνel.com

"No, He disappeared on His own. We didn’t even know where He went, but now we do," Lafra said, glancing at Chen Ze. She felt he was quite unlucky.

Chen Ze took out his phone and checked the time. It had already reached 1 A.M.

"I don’t know whether I’m unlucky, but I do know that you’re about to be," Chen Ze said, relatively relaxed about the situation. After all, the surveillance from yesterday had proved that even Hastur, likely just a part of Him, couldn’t break through the restaurant’s protection.

Otherwise, Chen Ze thought he would be waking up in a psychiatric hospital this morning, considering Hastur was an Ancient Ruler.

"What do you mean?" Lafra blinked blankly, but she quickly understood what Chen Ze meant.

"Here’s the payment for the meal!" Lafra tossed a bag of Gold Coins onto the table, then immediately rushed toward the door, not wanting to encounter that entity.

Chen Ze then turned to Betty, who was still confused. "Aren’t you leaving?"

Now that he knew the other party might be the Ancient Ruler Hastur, and not some Ghost or Monster, Chen Ze was not as frightened.

Especially after considering that the entity couldn’t enter, Chen Ze felt even more at ease. After all, even if it was an Ancient Ruler, as long as it couldn’t affect him, he didn’t care.

Moreover, this is a restaurant, after all, what if Hastur wanted to come in for a meal?

Who says deities don’t need to eat? The Jade Emperor even throws occasional Flat Peach feasts, not to mention a certain hammer-wielding god, for whom eating is quite a normal activity.

Betty hesitated for a bit; she had been watching the entire exchange between Chen Ze and Lafra, naturally hearing their conversation.

While not quite understanding what was going on, she knew that staying here might lead to some extremely unfortunate events.

At the very least, it involved something even a being like Lafra was unwilling to face, and Betty herself was just a defective Succubus, with a combat strength infinitely close to 5.

"If the manager isn’t leaving, I have nothing to be afraid of," Betty mustered her courage.

Chen Ze shrugged noncommittally and, after having Betty clean up the dishes and utensils, he went back to the kitchen. He needed to think about how he would serve the King in Yellow if he really showed up later.

What do Ancient Rulers like to eat? Chen Ze couldn’t find an appropriate answer on Baidu, or rather, very few people would pose such a question.

But Chen Ze nonetheless ruled out tentacles, considering that some of Hastur’s avatars possess octopus-like features.

"So what should I make..." Chen Ze fell into deep contemplation.

Chen Ze hesitated for a while and decided to wait until that particular guest really arrived before tackling this thought-provoking issue.

"Manager, we’ve been working for quite a while today," Betty said languidly, sprawling across the table.

There weren’t many customers today; apart from Lafra, no other customers entered Chen Ze’s restaurant. Chen Ze wasn’t bothered by this.

"We can close up in another ten minutes or so," Chen Ze checked his phone; it was almost the same time as yesterday.

"Alright," Betty yawned, propping her chin on her hands and dozing off on the dining table.

Chen Ze shook his head too; he rarely stayed up late these days and was indeed feeling sleepy. Had it not been for last night’s nightmare that tormented him through the night, he wouldn’t have considered staying up.

"I should give Betty some overtime pay..." Chen Ze drank a cup of coffee, looked at Betty, and thought to himself.

Since those Gold Coins were of no use, Chen Ze felt it was better to spend them.

"If I were younger..." Chen Ze looked at his phone, the alarm rang, indicating it was now 3:33 A.M.

Chen Ze turned towards the restaurant’s main door, waiting in silence.

Chen Ze didn’t know how to describe his feelings: fear, panic, excitement, and a bit of anticipation.

After 33 seconds, Chen Ze saw the doorknob turning.

Since Chen Ze hadn’t locked the door, the person at the entrance walked in this time, standing inside the restaurant.

Chen Ze took a deep breath and nudged Betty, who had fallen asleep.

"Dear guest, welcome to Dream Restaurant!"
