Chapter 528: Chapter 388: Infinite Sword Control!

Betty opened her eyes and looked around in panic, completely unprepared for the predicament she found herself in.

After finishing her shift at the restaurant yesterday, Betty had gone home, never expecting to encounter a group of robbers led by a ninth-rank professional who easily subdued her and Lindsay, even taking Lindsay’s computer—Lindsay was so angry she wanted to charge at them and kill those bastards on the spot.

However, under the force of their weapons, she didn’t succeed. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"Betty, what should we do?" Lindsay asked with worry.

This once noble castle now had hardly anyone around; plus, everyone in the city knew that two "good-hearted" succubi lived here, but stayed away due to their fear of demons.

In other words, unless the tax collector came for the taxes, it was unlikely anyone would discover them anytime soon.

"I don’t know... We’re locked up here; I can’t even go to the manager’s shop for help," Betty said, distressed. She regretted not asking the manager for something before, as the defense magic circle seemed only to work in the restaurant—it was no use here.

"Didn’t you say Lord Riesel was looking out for you?" Lindsay asked doubtfully, glancing outside the iron cage at an eighth-rank bloody fighter standing guard. But such a level was nothing but a straw in front of an ancient dragon.

"Yes... but Lord Riesel..." Betty paused, her less-than-brilliant mind suddenly flashing with a terrifying thought.

"Lindsay... do you think their target could be..." Betty whispered worriedly, gazing at the burly man across from her.

"They want to slay the ancient dragon?" Lindsay blinked, considering the possibility. Although that ninth-rank professional wasn’t up to much, who’s to say the strongest person would be him?

Betty nodded gravely. She had just realized one thing: although she wasn’t powerful, Lord Riesel had indeed set up a defense magic circle initially, so for these people to sneak inside unnoticed only meant that the magic circle had been disabled.

But would they go to such great length for two succubi?

The greater the investment, the more one naturally wants in return—that is the doctrine of the Goddess of Wealth.

"Ah, if only Lady Lafra were here," Betty sighed. Now that all her belongings were taken, she was unable to contact the manager or Lady Lafra.

Suddenly, Betty thought of a regular patron in the restaurant. She remembered that Chen Ze had once said that for such entities, merely uttering Their name would catch Their attention, be under Their gaze.

"Hastur," Betty whispered.

In the blink of an eye, Betty felt as though she had been dragged into the most terrifying space, her head filled with endless madness, her brain feeling as if it were about to be torn apart.

"Oh, it’s Betty huh? What’s going on?" Along with a cute and soft girlish voice, all the fear and pain dissipated, and then Betty found herself transported to a mysterious place.

A long-haired girl stood barefoot before her, yet Betty immediately recognized this as Lord Hastur’s streaming persona.

"Lord Hastur, please help me!" Betty cried out.

Then she recounted her ordeal, looking expectantly at Hastur.

This was a being far more powerful than Lady Lafra, a god according to Chen Ze—surely solving this issue would be as easy as sneezing for a deity?

"I see, come here," Hastur nodded, then waved Betty over.

"Hmm." Betty immediately leaned in, somewhat excited.

"Just like this, and like that." Hastur said just these four words.

"Huh?" Betty was a bit confused. What kind of solution was this?

"Hehe, I just felt it would be weird not to say it like that." Hastur cutely tapped her own head and stuck out her tongue.

"All right, I’ll take care of this problem, just remember to buy me a drink back at the restaurant," Hastur turned her head and then, in the next second, Betty was back in the cage.

"What happened to you?" Lindsay looked at Betty with concern. Just a moment ago, Betty had suddenly fainted, which was quite startling.

"It’s nothing, I just found a powerful assistant." Betty was quite proud, flicking her tail back and forth.

Immediately after, something flashed through Betty’s mind, causing her to pause.

"This..." Betty’s face turned red. Wasn’t this incantation way too embarrassing?

Betty stood up, having no choice. If she didn’t recite it, she couldn’t get out.

The bloody gladiator watched Betty warily, clutching his sword.

"I am the bone of my sword, iron is my body and fire is my blood... So I pray, Unlimited Blade Works!" Betty was incredibly embarrassed. She felt like she had seen these lines somewhere before, but now that she was in such a situation, she realized just how awkward it was to say them out loud!!

Lindsay looked at Betty with an odd expression. If it weren’t for her trust in Betty, Lindsay might have thought Betty had lost her mind.

But soon enough, Lindsay was left dumbfounded by the gruesome scene before her, a spectacle even crueler than the execution site of a Savage Demon, the sort that could cause nightmares on sight.

"Manager~" Betty walked into the restaurant happily.

"What happened to you?" Chen Ze came out and took a glance at Betty. Ronna and Moriarty had been sent back; Chen Ze was contemplating whether to call Lafra down or not, but in came Betty.

"Hehe, it’s like this..." Betty quickly explained.

Chen Ze’s lips twitched. It seemed he needed to protect the personal safety of the guests from other worlds. It was fortunate that Betty was smart and had sought Hastur for help; otherwise, they might only learn what had happened after Lafra returned.

"So, their target was Riesel?" Chen Ze asked Betty, curious about the developments to come.

"Yes, and Lord Riesel’s children too," Betty nodded angrily. Even though she had Lord Hastur’s help, they had made a mess of her castle and many things were lost, which gave Betty a stomachache from anger.

"Tsk tsk, honestly, but with Hastur taking action, these guys are in for a bad end. Don’t worry." Chen Ze clapped his hands. If Hastur was involved, those people’s souls would probably be tormented.

"Manager, I’m hungry!" Betty patted her stomach, which was growling with hunger.

The corners of Chen Ze’s mouth twitched. Betty was still the same old Betty, which was good in a way.

"Okay, wait, I’ll make you some noodles."
