Chapter 500: Three Hundred and Sixty: A Common Ailment of the Intelligent

Chen Ze shook his head, assuming that Betty was just playing with some meme again, and then he continued to focus on making his Dragon’s Beard Candy. Chen Ze planned to finish the dessert quickly to add more Huaxia desserts to the menu.

"But it’s almost lunchtime, looks like I need to find time to make lunch," Chen Ze yawned, not sure why he had not slept well the day before.

"Manager, Hastur asked me to pass on a message," Nyarlathotep’s voice suddenly came through, almost causing Chen Ze to snap the sugar strands in fright.

"You really are popping up out of nowhere, huh? Have you been watching Batman lately?" Chen Ze turned around and looked at Nyarlathotep, who was standing at the open kitchen window, with annoyance.

"I haven’t seen anything about Batman, but Hastur recently killed a dragon, a wicked one, and might come by soon. I’ll be taking off now," Nyarlathotep yawned, then waved his hand and prepared to leave.

"Oh, by the way, how many rounds did you play with Professor Moriarty? How did it go?" Chen Ze was very curious, but he felt confident about Nyarlathotep’s odds of winning since, no matter how smart Professor Moriarty was, he was still just a regular human and not on the same level as a unique being like Nyarlathotep.

"It was fifty-fifty. I let him win for a while because he was losing too much," Nyarlathotep said with a smile, then left.

Chen Ze poked his head out and glanced at the restaurant. Professor Moriarty was smiling benignly, but his eyes were dull as if deep in thought.

Chen Ze hesitated about whether he should reveal Nyarlathotep’s true identity to Moriarty, as he had heard that geniuses tend to doubt their lives after being completely defeated. He didn’t want Nyarlathotep to destroy Moriarty’s confidence.

Then Chen Ze saw Moriarty’s lips move, seemingly saying something. Chen Ze couldn’t hear him, but that didn’t matter—he had Magic Circles, so he listened in briefly.

"I’m getting more and more excited..." Watching Moriarty’s expression twist, Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, and then he continued starting on his Dragon’s Beard Candy.

You guys enjoy yourselves; even if you match wits for a year, Chen Ze doesn’t mind. He doesn’t understand it anyway, he might just check out the results.

But Chen Ze suddenly thought of such a game: what if he gathered all the intelligent folks in the restaurant and threw them into a virtual Three Kingdoms world, then let them each choose a lord to assist—what would the outcome be? Wouldn’t that be more interesting? ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"Mr. Manager! Sister Betty!" Hearing this voice, Chen Ze couldn’t help but smile; there was only one owner of this voice, the adorable Ronna Dake, the future Joan of Arc.

"Ronna~ come here, let Sister Betty give you a hug." Betty walked over with a joyful smile, picked up Ronna, and spun her around in a hug.

"Sister Betty, this is a braided flower for you!" Ronna said with a cheerful smile, then handed a colorful braided flower to Betty.

"Thank you~ Ronna, you’re so cute." Betty smiled and put it on gratefully. Indeed, Ronna’s skill at flower braiding was improving greatly. freeweɓnøvel.com

"Ronna, would you like to learn from me?" Moriarty also walked over, leaning on his cane, and looked at the little girl with a smile.

"Hmm!" Ronna decisively nodded her head. She had been reading the book Moriarty gave her and trying hard to learn, but after all, she was just a child and didn’t quite understand these things.

"Alright, then you eat first, and then I’ll slowly teach you." Moriarty nodded his head. The things Ronna needed to learn weren’t much, but mastering them would be troublesome and the future action plan had to be formulated based on the situation at hand. So Moriarty intended to take it slow and ask her after she had finished eating.

"That’s right, Ronna, you need to have a full stomach before studying, otherwise you won’t be able to focus with an empty belly," Chen Ze said as he walked out with a smile, patting Ronna’s head.

"Mr. Manager, just pizza is enough, thank you," Ronna said sincerely. She had no intention of eating anything else.

"Okay then." Chen Ze didn’t insist on Ronna eating other things, knowing that too much kindness could be bothersome.

Back in the kitchen, Chen Ze began to prepare the pizza. This time he planned to add some Sun Mushrooms to the dough. Although he wasn’t sure how the pizza would turn out, Chen Ze thought it should be quite good. If it didn’t work out, he would just make another regular bacon-loaded pizza for Ronna.

Chen Ze worked quickly, and adding the Sun Mushrooms wasn’t complicated. He just needed to cut them into small dices and add them to the mix.

Speaking of dicing, Chen Ze recalled a story from his past which he initially thought was a joke until he found out some people really were like that.

When he was learning in culinary school, there was this prodigy in his class. Once, when the teacher asked her to dice, she actually cut out the character "丁" with a kitchen knife. At the time, Chen Ze almost laughed hard enough to cut himself.

Contrary to Chen Ze’s good mood, Ronna’s spirits weren’t as high. She was painfully pinching her fingers together, completely confused as to why there was a need to let water in and out. Didn’t these people realize that clean water could save lives?

Moriarty, however, wasn’t surprised. In fact, in Ronna’s time in France, there weren’t many who could read, let alone learn mathematics. But these were all basic knowledge, and mathematics was a subject often used, so Moriarty still wanted Ronna to learn it.

Betty, on the other hand, hid on the side, her head spinning just listening to those formulas. She felt she might not be cut out for studying.

Chen Ze worked fast, and in no time, he finished the pizza mixed with Sun Mushrooms. He took out a plate and grabbed a small piece of the extra little pizza he had made, sniffed it, and the aroma was very enticing, with a spicy scent to it.

Chen Ze didn’t call Betty in, after all, he knew the ingredients of the pizza himself, so the flavor shouldn’t be too strange.

Chen Ze took a bite of the pizza and chewed twice.

Then he took out a bag of milk from his storage stone and drank it fiercely; the pizza was seriously too spicy.

"I didn’t put that much chili pepper in," Chen Ze doubted his life choices. It was his habit to put a little chili pepper in pizza for flavoring, but not much since it was just for seasoning.

Then, the only issue could be with the Sun Mushrooms. Chen Ze just discovered a new use for Sun Mushrooms: elevating the spiciness of chili peppers.
