Chapter 449: Chapter 309: The Bizarre Adventures of Subaru Natsuki

"Welcome to the Dream Restaurant, dear guest~" Betty greeted with a smile brimming with warmth.

"Eh? This place is a restaurant?" Subaru Natsuki was surprised as he looked at Betty in front of him. Ever since he had gone to the convenience store and ended up in a parallel world, this was the first time Subaru Natsuki had seen such a modernly decorated restaurant.

"Yes, guest, what would you like to eat?" Betty patiently explained. In fact, practically every new customer had some sort of confusion, so Betty was not surprised by this reaction.

"A restaurant, huh... But forget it, I guess it’s just another restaurant from a parallel world. But I don’t have any Gold Coins..." Subaru Natsuki was conflicted. In a parallel world, his yen was useless, and this was something Subaru Natsuki knew all too well.

However, after hesitating for a moment, Subaru Natsuki still chose to sit down. After all, this was the only variation in the continuous cycle of death he was experiencing, and Subaru Natsuki was really not willing to leave lightly.

Betty poured him a glass of iced lemon water, then handed Subaru Natsuki the menu.

"Omelette rice? Eel rice? Chestnut rice? There’s even miso soup?" Subaru Natsuki was completely flabbergasted. Weren’t these dishes that were commonly seen in his own world? Like other dishes such as red-braised pork on rice, those were also commonly found in Chinese Cuisine Restaurants.

This discovery suddenly excited Subaru Natsuki. Could it be that this restaurant was the way to leave that parallel world?

In fact, if he could leave that world, Subaru Natsuki would be very willing to do so. After all, that world was really too frightening, with constant danger to one’s life, and he was as weak as a bug, yet he possessed the ability to resurrect indefinitely. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Subaru Natsuki was extremely excited, but he instantly calmed down again. He remembered the silver-haired girl who had saved him. Every time he started over, he was saved by her, and at that dark tavern, Amilia had been brutally killed by the Gut Hunter. If he didn’t go, would all this continue?

The excitement gradually subsided, turning into gratitude for his lifesaver. Subaru Natsuki felt he couldn’t just stand by and watch her die.

"Sorry, I’ve decided not to eat," Subaru Natsuki said, shaking his head. Now that he knew the purpose of the restaurant, he had to leave. He had wasted a lot of time, and he didn’t know if he could still make it to that place in time to save Amilia.

"Eh? Alright then, guest, please take care." Although Betty was puzzled, she nodded and watched Subaru Natsuki leave the restaurant. For some reason, Betty felt that she would see this boy again, experiencing an odd sense of déjà vu.

"Ahhhh!" Intense agony. Subaru Natsuki clutched his stomach in pain. Because he had been delayed by that mysterious restaurant, by the time he got there, Amilia was already lying in a pool of blood, lifeless.

And he, too, had his stomach slashed open by the Gut Hunter once more. Death was closing in again, and Subaru Natsuki closed his eyes, only to open them again and find himself looking at that familiar food stall.

"Young man, would you like to buy an apple?" The familiar tone of voice.

Subaru Natsuki once again started to sprint, and as he passed the restaurant door, he was astonished to find that the door had once again turned into a wall, as if the restaurant had never existed.

"Betty, what just happened?" Chen Ze curiously asked Betty.

"A new customer came in, but for some reason, they left," Betty said with a puzzled look. It was her first time seeing such a customer who, despite having sat down ready to order, ran off after drinking a glass of lemon water.

"Maybe they had something to attend to," Chen Ze didn’t take it to heart; after all, he had seen all sorts of customers.

"Mr. Manager!" Ronna burst through the door, a face full of excitement, holding her little basket filled with woven flowers.

"Ronna, how’s your stomach now?" Betty immediately went over with a smile, looking at Ronna.

"Sister Betty, I’m much better now, and these woven flowers are for you," Ronna said, taking out a beautiful bunch of braided flowers and handing them to Betty.

"Thank you, our adorable Little Rona, your sister loves it," Betty said, beaming as she took the bunch of woven flowers and placed it on her head, a pleasant scent of flowers filling the air.

Chen Ze stood in the kitchen, smiling at Ronna. It was a good thing that her stomach no longer hurt, but he couldn’t help wondering what kind of person Ronna would grow up to be, especially since her teacher was none other than Professor Moriarty.

"By the way, Ronna, Professor Moriarty asked me to tell you that he’s been rather busy lately. Once he’s less busy, he’ll continue to guide your studies," Chen Ze remembered the request from Professor Moriarty and relayed the message to Ronna.

"Alright, Mr. Manager," Ronna nodded obediently, then sat down quietly in her chair, patiently waiting for today’s pizza.

"Ronna, would you like something else to eat?" Chen Ze asked, thinking he could make another serving of paper-wrapped fried chicken.

"No, thank you, Mr. Manager, pizza is enough," Ronna shook her head immediately, not allowing herself to do so.

"Okay then, you’ll have to wait a bit," Chen Ze nodded, acknowledging Ronna’s preference not to impose on her, for he didn’t want her to feel awkward coming back another time.

"How about I make an eel pizza?" A bold thought suddenly flashed through Chen Ze’s mind.

After all, there aren’t strict rules about what ingredients to put on a pizza, so Chen Ze figured whether he used eel or something else, the effect would be the same. Though what mattered was the taste.

Thinking this, Chen Ze decided his idea was quite feasible, and he immediately set to work, starting by slicing the eel. But instead of putting it directly on the pizza, he planned to broil the eel first and then place it on top.

Soon, a delicious aroma of eel wafted through the restaurant, causing Ronna to lick her lips involuntarily. She hadn’t smelled this scent before, but that didn’t stop her from thinking the dish would be tasty.

"The manager’s getting better and better at spreading temptation. Why are you so skilled at this?" Betty couldn’t help but tease, as the aroma was truly irresistible, making her salivate despite having already eaten an eel meal.

"Betty, come and help carry things," Chen Ze said, looking at the eel pizza in front of him, very pleased with the result. Even though the system didn’t offer any evaluation, Chen Ze felt the taste should be quite good.
