Chapter 443: Chapter Three Hundred and Three: Folk Customs

"What’s this?" Li Xu, after finishing his night shift, curiously looked at the bus stop sign before him.

There was nothing particularly interesting about the bus stop sign. Actually, if it weren’t for a piece of red paper, Li Xu wouldn’t have given it a second glance.

It was a red piece of paper similar in quality to the kind used for Spring Festival couplets, a bit coarse, and it wasn’t attached with tape but seemed to be fixed with double-sided adhesive.

Li Xu chuckled and then boarded the bus he had been waiting for. He planned to go home and rest properly; working the night shift was truly exhausting.

"But this is all for a living," Li Xu yawned. He had to stay on until the last stop. Even if all the lights were green, it would take over fifty minutes, so he decided to catch some sleep on the bus.

Li Xu leaned back in his seat, head propped up to sleep. Due to his extreme tiredness, he felt drowsy even on the swaying bus.

But the very next moment, Li Xu felt a pair of terrifying eyes staring at him, prompting him to suddenly open his eyes wide, looking confusedly around.

There was nothing there, although an old man was strangely looking at him. However, Li Xu didn’t mind; there was no way he was giving up his seat as he was far too sleepy.

Soon after, Li Xu started to doze off again, but just like before, as he was about to fall asleep, he ’saw’ that pair of horrifying eyes staring intently at him.

This startled Li Xu awake once more. He raised his head to look around; it was the same old scene, with more passengers on the bus, and the old man still oddly watching him.

"Sorry, old timer, I worked the night shift; I’m really tired," Li Xu said with a smile, trying to explain. Otherwise, who knows what would happen if someone took his photo and posted it online.

"No worries, young man. I’m just... It’s my first time seeing someone sleeping with their eyes open." The old man didn’t mind and was quite chatty, but his words confused Li Xu.

Sleeping with eyes open—of course, he knew about that; anyone who has read ’The Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ would know that Zhang Fei was someone who slept with his eyes open.

But what puzzled Li Xu was that he didn’t usually sleep with his eyes open... Why did this happen?

Li Xu shook his head, thinking the old man must have been mistaken.

Li Xu turned back and then saw behind him a grey figure without any clothes, but with two pairs of eyes, eyes that were very familiar, watching him intently.

"What’s wrong, guest?" Betty didn’t care at all. It’s just a grey figure, what’s so strange about that?

"This guy... I don’t know him at all! He must be a ghost!" Li Xu shouted in terror, weren’t these the terrifying eyes he would see whenever he tried to sleep?

"Quite a curiosity." Chen Ze stuck his head out and took a look. In just a short while, another pair of eyes had appeared on the grey figure.

"Boss, what should we do?" Betty was a bit troubled, this guest was hiding under the table now.

"But I don’t offer exorcism services here," Chen Ze said with a wry smile as he looked at Li Xu. It was the first time he had seen a customer wanting to order an exorcism set meal.
