Chapter 433: Chapter Two Hundred and Ninety-Three When... there isn’t a single... that is innocent
Ronna stayed blankly in the room, by now she had a profound understanding of what it felt like to be in utter despair.
This made her mother extremely worried about her daughter, and after a while, she came to the door of the room again and gently knocked.
"Ronna, are you feeling any better?" Ronna’s mother was very anxious, even though she had asked this question just five minutes before, and again ten minutes before that.
"Mom... please let me rest alone..." Ronna was very weak, as she covered her face in pain. However, next to her was a book, the one that Professor Moriarty had given her yesterday.
"I see... Next time, don’t eat those wild berries given to you by the orphans." Isabelle d’Arc sighed, if it weren’t for those unknown wild berries, why would her daughter have to suffer like this?
"I’ve washed your clothes for you, Ronna, remember to change into a fresh set." Isabelle, remembering something, called out again to Ronna who was in the room.
"Yes, Mom!" Ronna’s slightly annoyed voice came from inside, followed by painful moans.
Isabelle shook her head, she had followed Father Martin’s advice and made Ronna drink holy water, it should be effective, more so because that holy water was obtained by her husband in exchange for black bread.
In fact, after being surrounded by those damn people, food had already become a very precious commodity.
Isabelle decided in her heart, if Ronna still wasn’t getting better, perhaps she really should bleed her daughter, as that was what the doctors would do.
Diarrhea should be okay too, right? Isabelle thought it was fine.
Ronna was somewhat desperate; lunchtime had passed, but she still hadn’t gone to the restaurant, not that she didn’t want to go, but because her stomach was in excruciating pain, a pain that filled her with despair.
This whole affair had started with a bat... to be exact, with wild berries found near the bat cave.
Yesterday, Ronna had shared her pizza with the orphans again, and they were touched. The boy who led them gave Ronna a bunch of wild berries, and unable to refuse, she accepted them.
The next morning, Ronna ate one, it was sour with a hint of sweetness, so she ate a few more, eventually finishing them all.
Then she rested for a bit, and by noon, just as Ronna was preparing to go get her pizza, she felt a severe stomach pain.
The pain was so intense that Ronna lay on the ground writhing, sweat dripping from her forehead.
Afterwards, Ronna went to the toilet and felt a bit better following that, although she felt like she had just been a little stream.
But soon the stomach pain returned, and while waiting for her father to seek out the priest, her stomach didn’t hurt as bad, but she felt the need to... expel gas...
If Chen Ze knew about Ronna’s thoughts just then, he would definitely have rushed her to the toilet without hesitation, telling her to resolve the issue there.
Chen Ze remembered a question he had seen on Zhihu, which was, what is the experience of acute gastroenteritis like?
Compared to the other answers under "laxatives, person in the United States, just off the plane," this question was more like an exchange of feelings amongst fellow sufferers.
"Don’t trust every fart, when you burst a turd in your pants, none of those farts are innocent."
"I’m on the toilet, but I feel like I’m draining water, deeply realizing that the delicate part cannot withstand long-term wiping with tissue paper."
"Stop it, my stomach is hurting already, here’s a terrifying little tip, when you can’t stand the roughness of paper, it seems water is quite effective... but..."
It was simply a collection of sad stories.
Ronna couldn’t stay any longer; she had been squatting in the restroom for a long time, but her stomach was in constant pain, and Ronna was beginning to feel thirsty.
"I need to go ask Mr. Manager for help..." This was what ran through Ronna’s mind; after all, to her, Chen Ze’s restaurant was like a place of miracles.
Then Ronna, enduring the stomach ache and trying not to pass gas for fear of soiling her clothes any further, decided to act.
"Ronna..." Isabelle looked at her daughter with worry; she knew where her daughter wanted to go.
In fact, if it weren’t for the meat-filled pastries her daughter was able to exchange, their family wouldn’t have been doing any better than anyone else.
But Jacques wouldn’t allow her to distribute this thing called "pizza," claiming that doing so would bring a great disaster upon their family.
Thinking of those hungry eyes almost glowing green with envy, Isabelle was at a loss for words. When Ronna went to distribute the pizza, she could only give away the pastry, with none of the toppings, and had to be extremely careful.
"Mom, we don’t have much food left at home, and what if the miracle is gone?" Ronna was determined; the pizza couldn’t be stored for very long.
In the hot summer, food spoiled especially quickly.
Isabelle, feeling pained, watched her daughter but still let her go out.
"Welcome to Dream Restaurant... Eh? Ronna?! What’s wrong with you? Manager!" Betty’s scream almost caused Chen Ze to tremble, nearly dropping the kitchen knife onto his foot.
"What’s going on?" Chen Ze came out and then immediately saw Ronna, lying in Betty’s arms, weakly clutching her stomach.
She was in a bad state, her lips were a bit pale, and her face showed immense pain.
"Lafra!" Chen Ze immediately called out; it was obvious that Ronna was sick, and since he wasn’t a doctor, the only way to see immediate results was to seek Lafra’s help.
Soon after, Lafra came downstairs, having heard Chen Ze’s request, and she nodded in agreement without hesitation.
"This child... has a stomach issue, with a part inside showing pathological changes, but it’s not serious." Lafra reached out and gently stroked Ronna’s stomach.
The pain was relieved; at that moment, Ronna felt as if she had been reborn.
"Thank you, Manager, Lady Manager." Ronna quickly got up and respectfully bowed to Chen Ze and Lafra. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"It’s nothing, it’s nothing, but what happened to you?" Chen Ze looked at Ronna, somewhat puzzled.
"It’s just... it’s just..." Ronna couldn’t bring herself to say it.
"You don’t have to say it then, your sickness is gone now, but you should be more careful next time, okay?" Lafra could tell Ronna was embarrassed, and piecing together the location of Ronna’s recent affliction, she had a good idea of the reason.
"Sss..." Chen Ze glanced down at his foot; he had been stepped on by Lafra, though not hard.
"Hmph." Lafra humphed and went upstairs; she had been busy trying to catch a Legendary Beast, losing several high-level balls without catching a single one.
And there was her boyfriend, as obtuse as ever, truly irritating.
