Chapter 361: Chapter 221: How Long Does the Wound of the Soul Last?

"That one’s been really happy lately, always fussing over His Hope City. Lots of people are going to the Dark Council to complain, hahaha, you should’ve seen Stan’s head—it looks like it got bigger." Lafra laughed heartily, slapping her thigh and making Chen Ze’s mouth twitch.

"No wonder I haven’t seen Stan much lately, I thought he was just too busy." Chen Ze managed a strained smile.

"How could he be? Stan’s been harassed by those guys lately. Even though he’s killed a few, with so many fat-headed nobles, you can’t kill them all, ha." Lafra slapped her thigh again.

"Um... Lafra, could you stop slapping my thigh please?" Chen Ze was at a loss for words, beginning to suspect that his girlfriend was doing it on purpose, and even choosing to slap his thigh specifically.

Chen Ze felt his thigh might swell up from all the slapping, as Lafra was quite strong.

"Hmph, who do you think has to go back every day to deal with all those race issues?" Lafra huffed.

Chen Ze gave an awkward smile, knowing he was at fault. Hastur’s focus was supposed to be on idol development games, but now it had shifted to running simulation games instead, thanks, in no small part, to the books Chen Ze had given Him.

However, Lafra stopped slapping Chen Ze’s thigh. She placed her hand on his leg and pressed down, and immediately, the swelling and pain on his leg vanished.

"Really, be more careful next time. I wanted to spend more time with you..." Lafra leaned her head on Chen Ze’s shoulder, sending his heartbeat racing.

Just as Chen Ze pondered whether his heart might actually explode if this continued, the sound of wind chimes rang out, causing Lafra to raise her head.

"Then I’ll wait for you upstairs." Lafra headed to the second floor, blushing as she pecked Chen Ze on the cheek before she left.

"Hehe, Manager~ I didn’t see anything~" Betty covered her face, snickering, but quickly went outside.

"Welcome to Dream Restaurant, esteemed guest~" Betty’s voice carried outside.

"Cosplay, huh? Your restaurant sure is interesting. What food do you have?" A male voice; it was a stranger’s voice that Chen Ze hadn’t heard before.

"Sir, please take a look at the menu." Betty handed over the menu.

Chen Ze didn’t look outside; he was kneading dough, preparing to make some Goubuli baozi to put on display.

"How much are the prices? Can I pay with WeChat or Alipay?" The man’s voice came in again, causing Chen Ze to pause.

WeChat and Alipay?

"Sorry, sir, we can’t accept WeChat or Alipay here." Betty shook her head, which eased Chen Ze’s mind somewhat, seeing that the Succubus, despite her liking for the internet, had actually done some proper work.

"I can use Alipay to buy groceries now! But it’s all that pretentious old coot, I actually have some cash on me, give me one of these braised chicken rice bowls." The man’s voice made Chen Ze quite uncomfortable, especially when the man spoke of the ’old coot,’ with a crunch in his voice.

"Manager, one braised chicken rice!" Betty called out into the restaurant.

Chen Ze nodded and began to cook the braised chicken.

"Hey, what kind of crappy restaurant is this? No internet? Where’s the wifi? What’s the wifi password?" The man raised his voice again.

"Sorry, sir, our restaurant doesn’t have wifi." Betty smiled, trying her best to maintain inner calm.

"What a crappy restaurant. I bought a watch last year; is this place run by cavemen or what?" Listening to the man, Chen Ze calmly chopped the chicken.

"Sir, if you continue to spew nonsense, I’m going to have to ask you to get out." Chen Ze finally spoke up; he’d had enough.

"Hey, what kind of attitude is that? I’m going to complain about you, you son of a b****, f***!" The man became even more aggressive, his spit almost spraying in Chen Ze’s face.

Chen Ze glanced at his phone, indeed there was no signal. No signal was good.

"Fuck, what’s with that look? Just like that old geezer pretending to be paralyzed, you believe I won’t hit you too?" The man was shouting again, but his words made Chen Ze pause for a moment.

"You..." Chen Ze was about to use the Magic Circle to throw the man out when he saw Lafra descend from the second floor.

"My dear, let me handle this." Lafra gave Chen Ze a smile, then her gaze turned frosty as she stared at the man who continued to hurl insults.

"Oho? You, little lady, don’t look too ba..." The man noticed Lafra coming down from the second floor.

But the next moment, he stopped, his eyes blank as he looked at Lafra.

"Tsk, what a piece of scum." Lafra shook her head; she had just read the man’s memory and seen some rather unsavory scenes.

"What’s wrong?" Chen Ze frowned as he looked at Lafra.

"This man has a paralyzed father bedridden at home whom he refuses to care for. Then he hit his father with a shoe and kept cursing at him," Lafra briefly explained the situation.

Chen Ze silently observed the man; it was one thing to hear about such news occasionally, but encountering such a person was quite another matter.

While it was indeed said that "a bedridden parent will reveal an ungrateful child," Chen Ze still felt that such behavior was despicable.

"Lafra, isn’t there some kind of curse or something?" Chen Ze furrowed his brow as he looked at the man in front of him, oh no, at this beast. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"There is, but it might get weakened in this world," Lafra nodded, a hint of regret in her voice.

Worlds tend to reject the forces from other worlds, and with her power, she couldn’t ignore the laws.

Chen Ze felt disappointed; was he supposed to just let this beast walk out of here without any consequence?

"Then, would memory modification be less affected by weakening?" Chen Ze was curious; if curses were sustained effects, then maybe a one-time action like altering memory could be more effective.

"I’m not sure, but we can give it a try," Lafra hesitated for a moment before nodding.

"Oh right, Lafra, I have a bold idea..." Chen Ze smirked and pulled Lafra to one side, then shared his thoughts with her.

Lafra smiled and nodded, then raised her hand and began to cast her spell...

"Where... where am I?" The man pressed his head, climbing up in pain.

He remembered being at the hospital before... doing what exactly? Right, taking care of his father!

"Dad! Dad!" The man rushed into the hospital, finding his paralyzed father.

The father looked at him in terror, struggling to move. However, there were no beatings this time, only a tender and attentive care.

At night, after returning home, as the man embraced his wife and prepared for some post-dinner activity, he suddenly felt a stabbing pain below...

"What would happen if I made an incision in his soul here?"

"Probably it would hurt a lot every time he got aroused?"

"How long?"

"Ten years, but it might be reduced to five."
