Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Maid Outfit and Blood Ancestor
Chen Ze stood at the entrance of the women’s clothing store, deeply entangled in his dilemma.
Buying cookbooks and ingredients had not taken much time, but when it came to buying a waitress’s outfit for Betty, Chen Ze had no clue what to do.
Having been single since birth for 26 years and never even having held a girl’s hand, Chen Ze was now directly faced with the task of picking out clothes for a female, which he found greatly stressful.
"Sir, may I ask if you need any assistance?" A pretty sales associate noticed Chen Ze’s hesitation and approached to ask.
"That... I plan to buy a set of clothes for a female friend... no, two sets," Chen Ze rubbed his head.
"A female friend?" The sales associate glanced at Chen Ze discreetly.
"Is this the first time you’re buying clothes for a female friend?" The intuition of the sales associate was spot-on, instantly discerning the reason behind Chen Ze’s discomfort. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"Um... yes," Chen Ze nodded.
"Then I recommend this set to you, it’s the current fall-winter trend, from Paris Fashion Week..." The sales associate began to describe a beautiful set of clothes in detail.
"That... do you have waitress outfits?" Chen Ze saw the sales associate’s expression stiffen considerably.
Chen Ze felt he was being rather foolish to look for waitress attire at a women’s clothing store in a department store.
"Waitress? I’m truly sorry, sir, but we don’t have that here..." The sales associate wore an expression that perfectly conveyed a polite yet restrained smile.
"If you have that particular need, sir, I would suggest visiting the adult store on the sub-basement level..." Chen Ze covered his face in embarrassment as it was clear that the sales associate had misunderstood his intentions.
"However, they probably don’t have waitress outfits, but they do have maid costumes." The sales associate’s words brightened Chen Ze’s outlook; he had also been uncertain about getting a waitress’s outfit.
The waitress outfits Chen Ze knew were all somewhat awkward, giving a rather dowdy impression, and although some restaurants used small blazers and the like, they didn’t quite align with what Chen Ze had in mind.
Then, under the watchful eye of the sales associate, Chen Ze took the elevator down to the sub-basement level and purchased two specially custom-made maid costumes.
"There needs to be an opening here, and nothing covering the back at the waist." This was Chen Ze’s request, based entirely on his impression of Betty.
After all, Betty had wings and a tail, so she probably wouldn’t fit into a standard outfit.
"Very good, sir. May I ask for the lady’s measurements?" The clerk asked with a professional smile, unfazed by Chen Ze’s request as he was accustomed to all sorts of peculiar demands.
"Flat-chested and on the slimmer side, I guess," Chen Ze scratched his head, having never asked Betty such a question and only able to give a rough estimate.
"Alright, sir, I’ll bring it right out for you."
And that’s how Chen Ze, carrying two maid outfits, returned to the restaurant.
As he opened the door, Chen Ze felt something was off in the restaurant’s atmosphere.
His newly hired waitress, Betty, was shaking all over, standing in the restaurant; upon seeing Chen Ze enter, she cast him a pleading look.
Chen Ze’s gaze then turned to a customer sitting in the middle of the restaurant with their back to him. The customer had a head of blood-red long hair, though they were a bit short in stature; at the very least, Chen Ze could see the customer’s two short legs swinging to and fro.
"Welcome to Dream Restaurant..." Chen Ze put the bag aside. Since there was a customer, he would attend to them first.
"Alas, did that old Lao Gu leave my pet’s wings here?" Chen Ze immediately understood the customer’s identity.
The Blood Ancestor turned around, fixing Chen Ze with a look that carried a very intense murderous intent in her eyes. freewēbnoveℓ.com
However, Chen Ze chuckled out loud.
"Hey! What do you mean by that, bastard!" The Blood Ancestor stood up furiously, pointing at Chen Ze’s nose and cursing angrily.
Chen Ze still couldn’t suppress his laughter; he felt his stomach hurt from laughing.
"Bastard! Are you looking down on me? Looking down on the great Crimson Moon, the Progenitor of the Blood Clan?" The Blood Ancestor jumped off the chair, angrily wanting to kick Chen Ze.
But before the kick landed, it hit a mysterious and extraordinary Magic Circle.
"I will kill you," the Blood Ancestor narrowed her eyes and revealed her sharp fangs.
Hearing her serious tone, Chen Ze wiped away the tears of laughter and tried hard to calm himself down.
Before this, Chen Ze had always thought of the Blood Ancestor as an ancient and powerful vampire, just like the cold elders he had seen in movies.
But what Chen Ze never expected was that this being, who stood at the pinnacle of the negative plane and was the ancestor of countless vampires, whose name alone could make Betty tremble and leave her speechless, turned out to be a legal loli not even 150 cm tall.
"I’m sorry, customer, for my inappropriate behavior," Chen Ze said, looking at her cute canine teeth, completely unable to muster a bit of fear.
"You really are annoying, inferior race," the Blood Clan frowned, her kick from before still causing her a bit of pain.
The owner of this restaurant was a very powerful Space-Time Magician; the Blood Ancestor made a quick assessment.
In the negative plane, strength was paramount, and the Blood Ancestor only treated those of similar power as equals.
However, this didn’t prevent the Blood Ancestor from having an opinion about Chen Ze. She could tell that the human in front of her was just an ordinary civilian, without any strength to speak of.
"I’m very sorry, customer, what would you like to eat?" Chen Ze glanced at Betty, who was still trembling, realizing he couldn’t count on her.
"I told you, I’m here to get my pet’s wings back, give me my pet’s wings," the Blood Ancestor said irritably, sitting back down and swinging her little legs.
Chen Ze frowned; he really hadn’t expected the Blood Ancestor to come this early, so those wings hadn’t been dealt with yet.
"Tsk, should have cut them first," Chen Ze regretted his oversight.
Those were dragon wings, after all, even if they were Blood Dragon wings, they were still dragon. Chen Ze had never tasted dragon meat, but it was probably a top-tier ingredient, so he really didn’t want to give the Blood Dragon’s wings back.
"How about this? I won’t take advantage of you. I’ll trade you a Great Demon Squid for them."
"Deal," Chen Ze nodded. A Great Demon Squid? Something he hadn’t tried; since the Blood Ancestor had come to him, Chen Ze didn’t want to make a fuss. Trading two wings for a squid didn’t seem like a loss.
The Blood Ancestor nodded and pulled out a small water ball from the pocket of her dress, handing it to Chen Ze.
Chen Ze received it with frustration and took a look; there was a squid in the water ball, but it was very small.
"Every negative cycle, this water ball will automatically produce a tentacle, about as big as your restaurant," the Blood Ancestor explained calmly.
Chen Ze nodded; it seemed like a sustainable supply of food materials.
"Alas, what did that old bone Stan eat here? I’ll have the same," the Blood Ancestor said.
"Just to let you know, I, Lafra, am quite picky."
