Chapter 269: Chapter 129: Dreamland Fast Food

"System, why isn’t it the Supreme Soy Sauce Rice?" Chen Ze frowned and asked, of course, without receiving any reply from the system.

Chen Ze didn’t mind, he knew very well that his system wouldn’t respond at all, it was completely passive machinery.

However, this did not prevent Chen Ze from making another dish and then asking Betty to serve it.

Although it wasn’t the Supreme Soy Sauce Rice, at the very least, it was a meticulously crafted dish, and there was no problem serving it to the customers.

"Mr. Sebastian, Mr. Dragone, here is your BBQ Pork Rice, please enjoy." Betty struggled to suppress her urge to burst into laughter, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably.

"Ah, just laugh if you want to." Sebastian rubbed his eyes helplessly, now feeling a throbbing pain in them, which was quite distressing.

Dragone, true to his name and robust as ever, delivered a punch with the force of ten, which gave Sebastian a real taste of seeing stars.

Of course, Betty didn’t laugh; instead, she managed to stand and go back, forcefully suppressing the impulse to laugh out loud.

Riesel rolled his eyes and then put a slice of fatty beef into the hot pot—the flavor was fantastic, as spicy as ever.

Sebastian looked at Dragone with resentment; the punch from Dragone was making his head still ache.

Dragone didn’t care about Sebastian’s resentful look but instead stared at the dish in front of him with surprise.

"This thing, it smells really good." Dragone picked up a fork, speared a piece of meat, and along with some rice, put it into his mouth.

A rich and sweet aroma, along with a strange taste, but very delicious, even better than the previous dish, which prompted Dragone to take another bite.

"The boss’s cooking skills just keep getting better; I feel like I can hardly do without his dishes now." Sebastian contentedly swallowed a light cheesecake and then took a sip of cola.

"Isn’t that the truth." Riesel slowly swallowed the enoki mushrooms, blowing air through his open mouth continuously.

Betty’s eyes held a strange look; she remembered seeing a joke online the other time.

It said that enoki mushrooms had another name, something like ’recycled cabbage meat,’ explaining that after eating it for the first time, you would see it again in the toilet the next day.

And there was someone who said that when they were very poor, they survived seven days on just a pack of enoki mushrooms, and Betty did not want to know at all how that person had managed to do so.

"Just what is not quite right?" Chen Ze was utterly baffled; he had made another serving of BBQ Pork Rice, but it was still not right, and the system’s evaluation remained BBQ Pork Rice.

"I remember the steps to make the Supreme Soy Sauce Rice are just these..." Chen Ze was somewhat vexed; he made another dish and failed again.

Where exactly was the problem? Chen Ze took out his cellphone to check again, the recipe inside was indeed correct; if it weren’t for the lack of signal now, Chen Ze would want to rewatch God of Cookery.

"Boss, Mr. Sebastian and his party want to pay the bill." Betty popped her head in, interrupting Chen Ze’s contemplation.

"Alright." Chen Ze nodded, then stepped out of the kitchen.

If he couldn’t make it in an instant, then he might as well give it more thought, take his time to research later—Chen Ze was open-minded about it.

"Boss, how much is it?" Riesel had changed back into dragon form; the human shape was just too much of a thrill.

"No need, I heard you’re going to be a dad, so this meal is on me." Chen Ze smiled and wasn’t bothered.

"Oh no, Manager, can’t you just take even one Gold Coin?" Sebastian clutched his head in anguish, his face filled with disbelief.

"As I’ve said, the Manager is a good man who understands others," Dragone said happily as he looked at Sebastian, who then gave Dragone a gemstone with a helpless expression.

"Also, Mr. Dragone, do you have a bit of a verbal tic?" Chen Ze looked at Dragone again. Was it his imagination, or was the phrase Dragone had just used a bit off?

"I do not have a verbal tic," Dragone declared with confidence. Chen Ze’s mouth twitched; if this didn’t count as a verbal tic, then he wasn’t sure what did.

The slightest difference in pronunciation could change the meaning entirely. Chen Ze assured himself that he was not a scoundrel.

After seeing off Dragone and the others, Chen Ze watched as Betty took away several large bags of bread slices and then Chen Ze quietly closed the door.

"Let’s close up shop for the day tomorrow," Chen Ze yawned. He was so tired today. His hand had almost gone numb from slicing squid tentacles.

"And then... I’ll go online tomorrow to the part-time job recruitment site to find some delivery riders. Otherwise, we won’t have enough people for deliveries," Chen Ze freshened up a bit and lay down in bed, rubbing his eyes.

Then he took out the gemstone that Lafra had given him and placed it next to his pillow.

"Goodnight... my girlfriend..." Chen Ze slowly drifted off to sleep.

Elsewhere, Betty carried her stuff back to her place and set it down on the ground, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Betty, you’re back?" Lindsay walked in, holding a slice of white bread with some honey spread on it, of course, the very ordinary kind.

"Yeah, I’m exhausted today, but tomorrow we can start selling burgers," Betty said with pride on her face.

"Is the Manager taking a break tomorrow?" Lindsay caught the implication immediately and looked at Betty in surprise.

In Lindsay’s mind, Chen Ze was an incredibly hardworking individual. From the first time she’d learned about Chen Ze to now, he had never taken a single day off.

So, Lindsay had always referred to Chen Ze as a model worker behind his back.

"Yep, the Manager said that tomorrow he’s going to fight for life and freedom, so I should take the day off at home," Betty explained as she opened the bag and took out the contents, placing them in a basket.

"That sounds like a very noble and great endeavor, but are you sure you can actually sell the burgers you make?" Lindsay asked, looking worriedly at her friend. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Lindsay knew all about Betty’s capabilities. She’d once tried a burger made by Betty and could only describe the taste as terrible.

"Absolutely sure! I had the Manager train me, and now I’m really confident," Betty clapped her hands, looking forward to tomorrow’s work.

"Besides, I think that what the Manager does is all about making money," Betty mused, touching her chin, convinced of this because, after all, buying things and playing games both cost money.

"Huh? Shouldn’t the Manager be very wealthy?" Lindsay swallowed the last bite of her bread and then looked at Betty curiously.

Logically, the Manager should be the wealthiest person, since even a little treasure from a Dragon would be an immense fortune.

"The Manager earns money from his own world," Betty explained, then proudly tapped on the slices of bread.

"Dreamland Fast Food, about to open for business officially~"
