Chapter 196: Chapter 56: Supernatural Event?

Yang Yingqing didn’t dare look back. This incident, which clearly resembled an urban supernatural event, made his legs tremble involuntarily. Nothing was more terrifying than strange occurrences happening right beside him.

After a while, the hand that rested on his shoulder vanished, and Yang Yingqing finally breathed a sigh of relief. His hands trembling, he reached out to shut down the Trojan program.

However, the computer screen was black. Yang Yingqing hesitated, wondering if he had accidentally kicked the power cord and caused the computer to shut down.

Yang Yingqing looked down at the computer case. The lights were still on, indicating that the computer was still running.

So why was the screen black? Yang Yingqing felt puzzled and then shook the mouse.

Then he saw an eye suddenly open on the pitch-black screen, staring intently at him.

"Ah!!" Yang Yingqing screamed in terror. In the next second, the eye disappeared, as if it had never been there.

The computer screen flashed with white light and then displayed a scene. Yang Yingqing watched in amazement as the familiar scenario unfolded.

"This... isn’t this my apartment complex?" Yang Yingqing scrutinized the screen closely. The roads and residential buildings were all too familiar. It was indeed his own apartment complex.

Then, in the next second, the image flashed and switched to an apartment door marked 3A. Yang Yingqing swallowed hard; it seemed to be his floor.

It was as if something was holding the camera, advancing the view steadily. It entered the elevator, and though no one seemed to press the button, the light for the 13th floor still lit up.

Yang Yingqing ran to his front door in terror and locked it. This thing, this entity that might not even be human, seemed to be coming for him!

With trembling hands, Yang Yingqing took out his phone, intending to ask for help, but the phone was unresponsive, as dead as one without power.

Yang Yingqing looked at the computer screen; the image now showed the entrance to his room, 1303. In the next second, he heard the doorbell ring.

Yang Yingqing locked his bedroom door, then opened the wardrobe and hid inside. Perhaps in a moment of desperate ingenuity, he purposely messed up the bedroom to create the illusion that he was hiding under the bed.

The doorbell kept ringing. After a while, the sound of the front door opening was heard, then silence ensued.

Yang Yingqing covered his mouth, shaking. He dared not speak or make any sound. That thing had entered.

Noises of doors being opened came from the living room, followed by what seemed to be the bathroom door. Then, after a while, the bedroom door made a twisting sound.

Yang Yingqing tried to curl further inside, using clothes to hide his traces. He shivered continuously out of fear.

"Click." The door opened, and it seemed something came in, but there were no footsteps.

Yang Yingqing clamped his mouth tightly shut, holding his breath. The sound of searching came from outside.

Then the wardrobe door was opened. Yang Yingqing nearly wished he could meld into the back, praying continuously not to be discovered. Maybe it was luck, but the wardrobe door closed again.

Next came the sound of the bedroom door closing, then the front door opening and closing. Outside, silence reigned, as though that thing had gone.

But Yang Yingqing didn’t plan on venturing out. He intended to stay until morning when his buddy would come to ask him out. He would wait until his friend arrived before leaving. frёewebηovel.cѳm

Moreover, what if that thing hadn’t left? Wouldn’t coming out be akin to courting death?

Yang Yingqing curled up tightly in the back, the air in the wardrobe was stuffy. He felt suffocated. Yang Yingqing wanted to push open a small crack; otherwise, it could easily turn dangerous.

He had barely pulled it open when he saw a terrifying face staring intently at him.

So... this thing had been squatting here all along...

This was the last thought Yang Yingqing had before fainting.

Hastur glanced at the computer, smiled satisfactorily, and thought, "What a joke, who dares to plant a Trojan on my computer?"

If it weren’t for that one’s presence, Hastur certainly wouldn’t have let this bold individual off easily; driving them insane would have been the most merciful solution.

"Are you sure there’s really such a miraculous restaurant?" Nyarlathotep flipped through the comic book in hand.

"Of course, how else do you think these things got here?" Hastur nodded, satisfied that the lesson was taught, and figured the little guy wouldn’t recover for a long while.

"Tsk tsk, to be able to suppress your Magic Circle, that’s not something just anyone can do." Naya smiled playfully, and it was these items that made Her truly believe Hastur’s words.

Hastur shrugged indifferently and then took out a Switch. He planned to continue playing the idol training game today to plan for his own real-life cultivation.

Chen Ze opened his eyes, feeling a bit thirsty, then he looked up to see that the bedroom light was off, and Lafra was sleeping beside him.

Chen Ze’s face instantly turned beet-red because Lafra was actually sharing a bed with him, and this threw him into a panic.

Chen Ze slowly took out his phone, then turned it on and looked at Lafra—it was already two-thirty in the morning.

Chen Ze shook his head. The medication was indeed effective, and along with proper rest, he felt his energy had recovered by more than half.

The absence of a headache felt really good, making Chen Ze extremely comfortable. Only those who have experienced illness know how great good health is.

Chen Ze lay in bed, a bit conflicted. He was a little hungry and thought of making some spring rolls, since all the ingredients were ready.

But the problem was...

Chen Ze turned to look at Lafra, his right hand tightly embraced by her, making it quite difficult to extricate himself easily.

Chen Ze slowly, very slowly, began to withdraw his hand, but as soon as he had pulled it halfway out, Lafra grabbed hold of it again.

"Mmm... huh? Darling, you’re awake~" Lafra, sleepy-eyed, looked exceptionally cute.

Chen Ze gave an awkward smile, realizing he had woken her up after all.

"Don’t get up~ I still want to sleep~" Lafra tugged at Chen Ze’s sleeve, constantly shaking it.

Chen Ze was at a loss, as the awakened Lafra was like a child, particularly fond of acting spoiled.

"Alright, then let’s sleep a bit more." Chen Ze lay back down, and then Lafra, like a sloth, clung to him, sleeping soundly.

And Chen Ze, smelling Lafra’s scent and feeling her soft touch, couldn’t sleep at all.

What a long night it was... Chen Ze sighed blissfully.
