Chapter 1659: Chapter 1660: Lying 603

An Ning: "Wuyou, these past two days must have been hard on you because of me..."

"Don’t talk, let me hold you for a while..." An Ning guessed correctly; he was indeed very tired.

At this moment, with his beloved in his arms, Sikong Wuyou quickly fell asleep.

But An Ning was held tightly in his arms, unable to move. Fortunately, she simply leaned against his shoulder. From the initial boredom, she gradually became sleepy, and the two met in their dreams.

In the middle of the night, Mrs. Yan woke up, only to find that the person next to her was gone.

Originally, she thought An Ning had just gone to the bathroom, but after waiting for a long time, there was no sign of her return.

The whole night, tossing and turning, Mrs. Yan found it hard to sleep.

In contrast to her, An Ning and Sikong Wuyou slept soundly.

In the morning, the blazing sunlight filtered through the window, shining on his face. Sikong Wuyou was the first to open his eyes and was greeted by the beautiful face lying next to him.

He smiled knowingly, feeling a heart full of happiness.

He planted a gentle kiss, followed by An Ning opening her eyes with a confused look.

"What time is it?" An Ning mumbled with half-opened eyes.

"It’s morning," Sikong Wuyou replied first, then teased, "Little lazy pig, the sun’s almost up to your butt..."

"Oh no, oh no..." An Ning sat up in alarm, hurriedly trying to get out of bed.

Sikong Wuyou reached out to hold her back, "Why so panicked? Be careful; what if you fall?"

An Ning wore a distressed expression, "I’m in big trouble. At this hour, my mother must be awake. If she finds out I’m not sleeping by her side, she could get all sorts of ideas!"

Sikong Wuyou was stunned, "You and Auntie... don’t sleep separately?"

In the County Office, surely there aren’t so few rooms?

From Sikong Wuyou’s past and present impressions, he had never been close to his family.

During his time with the Ye Family, he also stayed secluded, seldom interacting with outsiders.

So he naturally assumed that An Ning and Mrs. Yan, though mother and daughter, had their own lives and never imagined they would share a room.

"No, I was exhausted when I arrived yesterday morning and just fell into bed and slept. My mother was worried about me, so she stayed in the same room with me..." An Ning explained as she put on her shoes and then said, "Well... I should go back now. Your arm is injured, take care of yourself. After I reassure my mother, I’ll find a chance to come back to you..."

In ancient times, the gender segregation was really troublesome.

She and Wuyou were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, it’s perfectly normal to be alone together, yet now it felt like a heinous crime.

After saying that, An Ning dashed away, not giving Sikong Wuyou a chance to speak.

When An Ning returned to the room, Mrs. Yan was standing at the doorway with a cold face, and anyone could see the displeasure on her face.

"Mother, you’re up?" An Ning approached with a fawning question.

She didn’t know if Mrs. Yan had been up for a long time or had just risen. If it was the latter, it would be easier to fool her; if she’d been up for a while, there wouldn’t be any suitable excuse to explain.

"Where did you go early in the morning?" Mrs. Yan asked instead.

"Well, I slept all day yesterday, didn’t I? So I wasn’t very tired at night and got up early for a walk."

As soon as An Ning’s words fell, she saw Mrs. Yan suddenly raise her hand and bring it down on her shoulder.
