Chapter 1406: Chapter 1406: My Poor Brother-in-Law
This little storm blowing through the industry didn’t really affect the crew. Aside from a very small number of people who knew about it, everyone else was still in the dark. As for Guan Shaoqiu’s career, it was over. That was his destined ending.
Chu Biyao pulled Ye Fan into the lounge to take a short break.
"Mr. Ye, what kind of coffee do you like? With sugar? With milk?"
"Mr. Ye, want some tea? I’ll brew you a pot?"
"Mr. Ye, better drink a soda, right? Strawberry flavor, okay?"
A few actresses around Chu Biyao crowded around Ye Fan, chirping away with over-the-top enthusiasm.
In the distance, the staff watching this scene were dumbfounded, looking like they’d just seen a ghost. They had no idea what had happened to make all these top beauties in the circle favor Ye Fan this much.
They were eaten up with envy and jealousy, wishing the one basking in that scene, surrounded by beauties, was them.
"What’s going on? What are you all doing?" Ye Fan looked at the few beauties beside him, baffled. "Hey, ladies, do we even know each other?"
"Of course we do, of course we know you. With Mr. Ye’s big name, how could we not?"
"We didn’t know you before, but we do now. Biyao just introduced you to us as her brother-in-law, so even if we didn’t know you, we do now."
"Having the luck to meet Mr. Ye is our blessing."
The women chatted and laughed, their expressions as they looked at Ye Fan getting more and more animated.
"Seriously, what’s going on?" Ye Fan was lost, and turned to Biyao. "You’re not up to some weird trick again, are you?"
"No, how would I dare?" Chu Biyao said with a bright smile. "They’re my sisters, we’re pretty tight in the circle. Once they found out how powerful you are, they couldn’t wait to meet you."
"So dragging me here to ’rest’ was fake, and having another agenda was real." Ye Fan said, depressed. "Go on, what shady thing is it this time? My energy is very big? What’s that supposed to mean?"
"Do you know what’s become of that Guan Shaoqiu who offended you?" Chu Biyao asked.
"How would I know?" Ye Fan replied.
"Do you know that the real boss behind Guan Shaoqiu’s big boss is actually you? You aware of that?" Chu Biyao asked slowly.
"Do I need to know?" Ye Fan was speechless. Seeing how interested Chu Biyao was, he could only listen on.
"Do you know how many times you got cursed out because of one Weibo post from Guan Shaoqiu?" Chu Biyao asked again.
"I got cursed out?" Ye Fan asked in puzzlement.
Chu Biyao kept asking, while Ye Fan answered off-topic and didn’t care what she was asking at all. After that round of questioning, the expression on Chu Biyao’s face grew more and more intense, while Ye Fan remained utterly clueless, full of confusion.
The company under Li Chenggui had already announced their handling of Guan Shaoqiu.
Aside from Chu Biyao, the other actresses all had their eyes wide open.
Guan Shaoqiu had just been banned by the Li Family’s entertainment company. The impact and outcome for him were nothing short of catastrophic.
What shocked and stunned them was that Ye Fan didn’t even know about Guan Shaoqiu’s use of online public opinion to attack him. Yet in such a short time, things had been handled so swiftly and decisively, completely ignoring any fallout. This kind of thunderous response really drove home how unfathomably deep the "energy" of Ye Fan that Chu Biyao had mentioned actually was.
If they hadn’t witnessed how this whole thing unfolded, they wouldn’t have dared to imagine it. Now they were truly in absolute awe.
Their admiration for Ye Fan was as strong as it could possibly be.
The value Guan Shaoqiu had created was actually staggering, but they still banned him without the slightest hesitation. That was huge, and it showed either that his value had been completely disregarded, or that a small fry like him had never been worth anyone’s attention to begin with.
"What’s with those looks? Why are you staring at me like that?" Ye Fan looked at the actresses and said helplessly, "Do I have flowers on my face or something?"
"You do." One actress answered with certainty. "And it’s a lethal flower of charm that kills without a trace."
"Mr. Ye, you’re way too handsome, you know that?" another actress said seriously.
"Being able to know you is really a blessing from three lifetimes. Just being able to say we know you when we go out is such a flex. Tons of people will instantly look at us differently." the third actress chimed in.
"Mr. Ye, can we take a picture together?" the fourth actress asked earnestly.
"Go ahead, no need to be so polite, and no need to butter me up like that either." Ye Fan warned them seriously. "You’re Biyao’s sisters, so that makes you half my friends. Don’t be so formal, just relax and be yourselves."
The actresses pulled out their phones and one after another framed themselves together with Ye Fan and started taking pictures.
Ye Fan being this easygoing made them extremely excited. That "half a friend" line made them feel both flattered and honored.
They really owed it all to riding on Chu Biyao’s coattails, and also to Ye Fan being such a mild, easygoing person. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so easy for them to be this happy and satisfied.
After the photos were taken, they said from the heart, "Mr. Ye, your willpower and self-control are amazing. Being surrounded by us like this, you were like an old monk in meditation, totally ignoring our beauty with not the slightest loss of composure. We’ve never met a man like that. You’re truly a textbook good man, and a man bursting with charm."
"So, tell me about this whole cursing thing. What exactly happened?" Ye Fan looked at Chu Biyao and asked.
Looking across the Underworld, not to mention the many people who had cursed him, there were even more who wanted him dead.
Yet no one dared do it to his face, because they wanted to stay alive and not go looking for death.
No matter what reason Guan Shaoqiu had for being this reckless, it was thoroughly annoying.
"Didn’t Guan Shaoqiu want to use you as his stunt double? After you turned him down, and then tossed in that line about him being better off as your driver, he got pissed. So, he went online and attacked you, using his star power and public opinion to stir people up, and that triggered a ton of abuse." Chu Biyao said, then looked at him sympathetically. "My poor brother-in-law, do you know that in less than twenty minutes, you got cursed out hundreds of thousands of times? They even dug up your ancestors eighteen generations back. Truly disgusting."
"For someone who has that kind of public opinion power to act this recklessly, he’s really asking for death." Ye Fan gave a calm assessment, with a trace of anger. "So, how far have things gotten now?"
"Pretty much wrapped up." Chu Biyao said. "The Li Family’s Patriarch, Li Chenggui, personally stepped in and dealt with Guan Shaoqiu."
"Then I’ve got nothing more to say. Looks like for now, he still has at least one way out, but he’s done for in this circle." Ye Fan said faintly. "If I throw out a harsher line right now, someone will probably jump out and insist on killing him."
The weight of that sentence was enormous.
Chu Biyao nodded in understanding. "Brother-in-law is still merciful."
The other actresses were utterly stunned by Ye Fan’s remark, shocked beyond words.
