Chapter 824: Chapter 733: Walking Alone on the Thorny Poisonous Road (Part 3)
Absolute silence hovered overhead, everyone held their breath, gazing at the figure at the center of the battlefield. The girl’s form was not large, even described as slender, yet she exuded a powerful aura that could not be ignored.
"Inform the entire army, retreat immediately!"
Awakened from stupefaction, Sent shouted.
No orders needed, instinctual fear drove the whole army to retreat from the battlefield. The soldiers were filled with despair, armored vehicles withdrew en masse, chaos became synonymous with the war site.
"Young Master..." Okber was dazed.
"Time to go, Major General!"
A subordinate beside him stepped forward to pull him away.
The "Crimson Dancer" cast a sidelong glance.
The wind mixed with ashes blew past, the ancient Battle Blade roared, thirsting for blood, its rumble reverberated across the battlefield.
The crimson blade light split heaven and earth, slaughter began, a staggering scorch mark appeared at the center of the battlefield, Battle Chariots were all wrecked, countless clung to fiery skeletal remains.
The "Crimson Dancer" stood tall in the sky, a hundred-foot Battle Blade grasped in her hand, though tiny as a point, she shone with divine radiance, just gazing upon her form would blind one’s eyes.
The second blade struck out, centered on the "Crimson Dancer," a several-kilometer zone became an absolute life forbidden area, fierce flames surged with traces toward the sky!
She descended with an absolute superior stance, judging all beneath!
Chichu Chun struggled to lift her head, meeting the sky girl’s emotionless eyes.
She seemed to hear bell tolls, distant bell sounds echoed amidst the war drums. A golden figure appeared before her.
"You..." Chichu Chun gasped.
The blonde girl turned her head, her attire stained with blood, unsure from her or others. Her face also tainted with blood, her gaze just as gentle as usual, yet carrying a hint of sadness.
"Sister Tang..." Chichu Chun realized something.
They silently faced each other for a long time, the blonde girl’s lips slightly parted, revealing a serene smile, seemingly expressing approval of her today, or giving her final solace.
She clearly heard Xu Xiaoyou’s final words.
"Don’t be afraid. Walk firmly to the end."
She resolutely walked toward the God amid light and heat, alone, destiny’s toll rang for her.
The "Dark Gold Rose" sacrificed its life to pin the not fully awakened "Crimson Dancer" onto the Judgment pedestal.
She was not fully awake. She walked toward the fate written for those who defy destiny.
Chichu Chun once again witnessed the blonde girl’s death, she and the "Crimson Dancer" disappeared into the fire together.
Future,
Reboot!
The worldline shifted before Chichu Chun, everything there began to turn into light and shadow, swiftly vanished before her eyes, advancing into history’s void.
"Worldline alteration..."
"An unforeseen error has occurred"
"Destiny rejected the worldline alteration, fate intervened in the altered worldline. Error correction failed... attempting to modify the permission subject. Permission subject rejected modification! Embrace error..."
"Worldline altered once more!"
Who knows how long it had been, Chichu Chun slowly opened her eyes, surrounded by darkness.
To her surprise, it was the person she first saw.
"You’ve lost everything." The person said.
The person had blonde hair, a nearly indifferent demeanor reminiscent of Xu Xiaoyou in Chichu Chun’s memory, yet not entirely the same.
Even though she looked identical to Xu Xiaoyou, Chichu Chun’s body, down to her pores, rejected the blonde girl’s aura before her.
Chichu Chun wanted to say something, but consciousness rapidly turned chaotic, her soul seemed trapped in a cage, only able to observe her body from a third perspective.
This reboot was not quite the same as usual.
Her intuition emitted strong warning signals, exploding in Chichu Chun’s mind, every cell urging her to leave this place.
Yet she, unable to concentrate on thinking, unable to move, not even a single finger.
She and ’Xu Xiaoyou’ faced each other in a confined space, huge gears spun around, steam-spewing dice cast shadows.
’Xu Xiaoyou’ slowly pulled on black gloves, her beautiful eyes calm.
"Did you hide the truth from me?" ’Xu Xiaoyou’ asked.
Chichu Chun immediately realized what had happened.
The other used Word Spirit on her!
This worldline alteration aroused ’Xu Xiaoyou’s suspicion. The other intervened in the worldline alteration, using Word Spirit on her ahead of time in this worldline. No matter her awakening time node, she would be drawn into this space first!
An unease arose from Chichu Chun’s heart, she wanted to open her mouth, yet her throat could only make hoarse ’ha-ha’ sounds.
"Yes, I hid the truth."
Chichu Chun answered numbly.
No, must not continue answering!
Chichu Chun struggled and shouted internally.
"Is this your second time using [Reboot the Future], right?" Xu Xiaoyou asked.
Her expression cold, looking at the girl with detachment and wariness.
"I told you, using Reboot the Future a second time, you’ll lose everything."
"Whether status, rights, assets, all close to you will turn away."
"Let me guess. Last time, the Chichu Family became the exiled government, and you faced great obstacles because of it, you tried to change, yet still failed."
"And this time." ’Xu Xiaoyou’ pondered a moment, projecting an image before Chichu Chun.
It was a world in eternal night, fear swept the land, the world turned to scorched earth. Wars raged, companies fought each other, ordinary people were displaced, struggling to survive in the war’s shadow, eyes void of hope for tomorrow. Winter was coming, despair was spreading, mysterious fog began covering cities.
The calamity arrived early. Humans barely surviving on the continent were migrating into the Light Chasing Tower, the darkest future was replaying foreseeably.
"The future has become like this."
"Xiaochun." ’Xu Xiaoyou’ stepped forward, pinching Chichu Chun’s face.
"I trust you greatly, you are my only family, I can endure everything about you."
"Why did you hide things from me?"
"We could have changed everything, we could have..."
’Xu Xiaoyou’ spoke, eyes flashed a hint of reluctance and loneliness, slowly lowering her hand.
She opened her mouth, as if to say many things, but in the end turned into mechanical repetition.
"We could have changed everything..."
Faced with the girl’s questioning, Chichu Chun struggled to defend herself. She suddenly shook her body fiercely, seizing a moment of clarity from the confinement, falling off the chair.
"What are you hiding from me?" Xu Xiaoyou said.
At this moment,
Chichu Chun’s blood turned cold.
"It’s March..." Chichu Chun rasped.
A pair of hands pierced through ’Xu Xiaoyou’s chest. March looked at Xu Xiaoyou whose gaze wavered, then regained composure; as if she’d figured out the cause of all affairs. March’s mouth curled into an amused smile:
"I’m here~"
