Chapter 328: Ungodly Alliance

Entering the back seat of his SUV, Damian found Rah seated by the window, calmly watching the crowd beyond the dark tinted glass. In her human form, the blush shade of her skin had faded into a lighter complexion, and the tail that usually followed behind her was gone, leaving her appearance far less conspicuous. Yet there were still details she could not hide. Her snow white hair rested over her shoulders like silk, and her deep blue eyes carried the same cold, predatory depth that made it impossible to mistake her for an ordinary woman.

Outside the courthouse, reporters shouted questions into the cold air while protesters and bystanders pressed against the barricades, chanting Damian’s name with growing excitement. Some held signs calling him the only judge willing to stand against the powerful. Others raised pictures of Ethan Morales and Emily Morales. The noise followed the SUV as it slowly pulled away from the courthouse steps, but Rah did not seem impressed by any of it. She watched the crowd for several seconds before turning toward Damian.

"Is this what you seek?" she asked calmly. "Is this why you insist on maintaining personal contact with humans?"

Damian glanced at her briefly before shifting his gaze toward Loth, who sat in the driver’s seat and watched him through the rearview mirror. "Drive," he said simply.

Loth nodded and guided the SUV away from the courthouse. Damian leaned back against the leather seat and released a long breath. He pushed his hair away from his face, removed his glasses, and rubbed the bridge of his nose before looking at Rah again. She was still watching him, clearly waiting for an answer.

"Maybe," Damian said with a careless shrug. "I’m not sure anymore."

Rah rolled her eyes and returned her attention to the window. Damian did not explain himself further. He pulled out his phone, scrolled through his contacts, and dialed Twenty’s number. The call was answered almost immediately.

"Yooo, brother. You need something?" Twenty asked, his voice bright with curiosity.

Damian chuckled lightly.

"Make preparations to reach out to the victims of Victor Hale under our ministry’s name. Give them financial aid and book a public meeting with the Faceless. Make sure people know it is happening."

There was a brief silence on the other end of the call. Then Twenty’s voice returned, filled with barely restrained excitement.

"You plan to heal her?"

The Victor Hale case had already gone international because of the repeated attempts to interfere with it, including the assassination attempt against Damian. If the Ministry of Love stepped into the story now and publicly helped Emily regain the foot she had lost, their name would explode across the world. The remaining doubt surrounding the ministry would collapse instantly. They would no longer be a strange organization operating from the shadows. They would become a force people across the world believed in.

This was the opening they needed to take the ministry global.

"Can you also bring back the dead?" Twenty asked.

Damian nearly choked on his own saliva. He began coughing so suddenly that even Rah turned toward him in surprise. He pressed a hand against his chest while trying to catch his breath, but Twenty’s question had caught him too far off guard.

"Motherfucker, do I look like God to you?" Damian snapped once he finally recovered.

Twenty burst into loud laughter from the other side of the phone. Rah covered her lips as she began laughing as well, and even Loth could not stop the smile that spread across her face. Damian remained annoyed for several seconds, but the sound of their laughter slowly wore down his irritation.

After they finally settled, Twenty spoke again.

"I’ll get it done," he said. "Also, I’ll be sending you my wedding invitation card."

Damian’s expression froze. "Your what?"

Twenty went quiet for a moment, clearly realizing he had said something he should have explained more carefully.

Damian turned sharply toward Loth.

"Turn this car around," he growled.

"I’m not home!" Twenty shouted from the phone.

"I’m coming," Damian snapped. "I better not look for you."

Loth and Rah began laughing again as Damian ended the call. The SUV changed direction and headed toward Twenty’s house. Damian remained silent throughout the drive, his expression dark enough to make it clear that Twenty had just created a problem for himself.

Not long afterward, the vehicle pulled into the gates of Twenty’s residence. Damian opened the door immediately and stepped out before the car had fully stopped.

"Stay here," he said without looking back.

Then he rushed into the building as if Twenty had personally declared war on him.

The moment Damian disappeared inside, an isolation barrier formed around the SUV. The sounds from outside faded instantly, leaving the vehicle surrounded by unnatural silence.

"You finally seem to be having fun," Loth said from the driver’s seat.

Rah’s attention shifted toward her. It was surprising enough that someone of Loth’s standing would dare speak so casually to her. Rah was no longer merely a captive or an outsider. She had become Damian’s concubine through a [Faustian Bargain], and that gave her a position most demons would not dare challenge.

Hazel, Racheal, and Ruby may have been closer to Damian emotionally, but their positions were not permanent. They had not yet completed the permanent mating ritual. Their standing could fall if Damian ever chose to withdraw his favor.

Rah’s position was different. Her contract was already secured. Her place could only rise from here.

"You’ve got guts," Rah hissed.

To her surprise, Loth showed no fear. She stared directly at Rah through the rearview mirror, her expression calm and level.

"You cannot have ambition if you do not possess some guts," Loth replied.

Rah’s cold expression softened slightly. She raised a brow as she studied the woman in front of her.

"What ambition do you speak of?"

"An ambition to become queen," Loth answered without hesitation.

Rah’s expression tightened. The current queen of Damian’s household was Racheal. She was the only demigod among the women because of Lin Qui, and she stood at the center of Hazel and Ruby’s position as well. The three women were tied together. To replace one of them was to threaten the entire structure they had built around Damian.

"You sly little devil," Rah hissed, but a devious smile slowly appeared on her face.

She looked toward the gates of Twenty’s residence as a thought formed in her mind.

For the past few weeks, Loth had been the one spending the most time around Damian. As his assistant, she was constantly near him while he worked, during which she sucked him off or just had full blown sex with him. Her strength had also been growing rapidly because of the attention Damian gave her.

"My queen and her sworn sisters are like a deal," Loth said calmly. "Take one, and you get all three. If we make you queen before any of them, their structure breaks. Once it breaks, anyone can rise in their place."

Rah stared at her silently. "And that second person will be you."

"Naturally," Loth replied with a firm nod.

Rah slowly nodded. Loth’s proposal was not shocking. It was the kind of betrayal demons committed every day in the underworld. Yet the more Rah considered it, the more sense it made. If she wanted to win Damian completely, she would need help. Someone with constant access to him was exactly the kind of ally she needed.

Loth could create opportunities Rah would never have on her own. In return, Rah could use her position, bloodline, and growing influence to protect Loth from the wives once the conflict began.

A contract appeared in the air between them. Pink flames crawled along the edges of the scroll as it floated toward Rah. She caught it effortlessly and looked over the contents in silence.

"It is a [Faustian Bargain]," Loth said. "I will help you become queen, and you will help me become queen."

For several seconds, Rah said nothing. Then a small smile appeared on her lips.

"You have thought about this for a long time," she said.

Loth did not deny it. "I have."
