Chapter 192: New Mission

Alex stepped through the portal and arrived beneath a gray sky that stretched endlessly across the horizon. The transition between worlds was surprisingly smooth. There was no resistance from the dimensional boundary, no violent turbulence, and no indication that he had just crossed the separation between two completely different realities. It felt as though he had merely taken a single step forward rather than traveled between worlds.

His gaze swept across the surroundings as he calmly examined the unfamiliar environment. Before him stood a vast modern city that extended far into the distance. Towering skyscrapers rose toward the clouds, their glass surfaces reflecting the fading light of the afternoon sun.

Countless vehicles moved along wide roads below, forming streams of motion that never seemed to stop. Bright advertisements illuminated the streets and buildings, filling the city with color and activity despite the fact that daylight had not yet disappeared.

Alex remained still for a few moments and simply observed.

As he continued observing the city, a familiar notification suddenly appeared before him.

[Ding! Main Mission Issued.]

[Ding! Kill the Dragon Monarch.]

[Ding! Mission Requirement: Lure the Dragon Monarch into the main world and eliminate him.]

Alex calmly read the system messages without displaying any particular reaction. His expression remained completely indifferent as his eyes lingered on the mission title.

"Dragon Monarch."

The title sounded vaguely familiar.

The moment he focused his senses, he immediately detected traces of draconic authority hidden somewhere beyond the dimensional layers of this universe. The aura was powerful by the standards of this world and possessed a degree of ancient majesty that ordinary beings would find overwhelming.

Unfortunately, such strength held very little meaning to Alex.

Even so, he had no intention of rushing directly toward the target. Experience had taught him that every world contained opportunities beyond the mission assigned by the system. Destroying the strongest enemy immediately often resulted in missing valuable resources, hidden secrets, or unique advantages that could not be replaced later.

Rather than acting impulsively, he turned his attention inward.

The greatest treasure he had obtained recently was not Vorkoth.

It was the Soul World itself.

Alex’s consciousness descended into his inner universe.

Within the endless void, a gigantic galaxy rotated slowly and majestically. Millions upon millions of stars filled the vast expanse, creating a breathtaking cosmic landscape. Near the center of this internal cosmos floated a newly absorbed world that radiated faint silver light.

The Soul World.

Alex carefully observed the world as it continued its gradual integration into his galaxy. Deep within the planet’s core, a steady stream of silver energy emerged continuously and flowed outward like countless rivers feeding an enormous ocean.

The energy spread throughout his inner universe.

As the silver streams entered the galaxy, they encountered the cosmic energy that already existed within his foundation. Instead of rejecting one another, the two energies began to merge naturally. Their interaction produced no conflict and no instability.

A completely new form of power was gradually born.

Alex watched the process in silence.

The newly created energy seemed superior to either source individually. It possessed the vitality of soul energy while simultaneously carrying the immense potential of cosmic power. The result was far more refined than he had anticipated.

A faint look of understanding appeared in his eyes.

"So this is why the system guided me there."

The Soul World had provided far more than a simple increase in strength. It had introduced an entirely new energy system into the foundation of his inner universe. That benefit alone was worth far more than any ordinary treasure.

Different worlds operated according to different laws.

Different worlds generated different forms of energy.

If he continued gathering such worlds and integrating them into his galaxy, the long term benefits would be extraordinary. Each energy system could strengthen the others while compensating for their weaknesses. The interaction between countless systems might eventually create something entirely unprecedented.

Alex considered the possibilities carefully.

Perhaps one day his inner universe would contain dozens of different power systems.

Perhaps it would contain hundreds.

Each one would contribute to a greater whole.

Each one would strengthen every other system.

The future potential was immense.

Alex nodded slightly as he reached that conclusion.

The idea was certainly interesting.

His attention soon shifted elsewhere.

Far away within the Shadow Realm, Vorkoth remained kneeling respectfully before a towering mountain of darkness. The former God King immediately sensed Alex’s gaze the moment it fell upon him.

"My master."

The massive creature lowered its head further.

Alex examined him silently.

A half step hyperversal existence was an extremely valuable subordinate. Such beings could serve as powerful assets during future missions and could handle matters that did not require Alex’s personal attention.

For a brief moment, Alex considered another matter.

"Should I accept the feedback energy now?"

The bond connecting him to Vorkoth continuously generated enormous amounts of power. Absorbing it immediately would undoubtedly increase his strength once again.

After a short period of thought, however, he shook his head.

"Later."

There was no urgency.

Power would always remain available.

Information was often more valuable.

Understanding this world took priority over increasing strength that was already more than sufficient for any foreseeable challenge.

His consciousness gradually withdrew from the inner universe.

The vast galaxy disappeared from his perception as his awareness returned to reality.

Back in the city, Alex resumed walking calmly through the streets. Thousands of people passed by him every minute, yet nobody paid him any special attention. His appearance seemed completely ordinary.

No one could sense the existence hidden beneath that ordinary exterior.

To the people around him, he appeared to be nothing more than an average young man walking through the city.

At the same time, within the Soul World, Headmaster Lucien suddenly froze while reviewing a collection of academy reports.

Alex’s voice entered his mind without warning.

"Headmaster Lucien. Find me some commoners without spirits. I have a special mission for them."

Lucien immediately stood from his seat.

His expression became serious.

"Understood."

The connection ended.

Without wasting any time, Lucien summoned several academy officials to his office. The officials arrived quickly and found the headmaster standing beside a large table covered with documents.

"Search the surrounding regions," Lucien ordered.

The officials exchanged puzzled looks.

"For what, Headmaster?"

"Ordinary people."

The room instantly became quiet.

Several officials blinked in confusion.

"Ordinary people?"

"Those without martial spirits and with good character."

The officials exchanged even stranger looks.

Finding talented geniuses was difficult.

Finding ordinary commoners was easy.

Nevertheless, none of them questioned the order. Anything connected to Alex was treated with absolute seriousness throughout the academy.

The officials immediately dispersed to carry out their assignments.

Lucien himself began searching through records and reports.

If Alex specifically wanted such individuals, there had to be a reason.

Several hours later, suitable candidates were identified.

Five young men.

Three young women.

All of them were commoners.

None possessed martial spirits.

Each had a clean background and a reputation for good character.

They were precisely the type of people Alex had requested.

Lucien looked over the list and smiled faintly.

"Now we wait."

Meanwhile, Alex continued gathering information about his new world.

The easiest method was simply listening.

His divine consciousness spread invisibly throughout the city. It expanded across streets, buildings, offices, restaurants, and countless residential areas. Millions of conversations entered his perception simultaneously.

An ordinary mind would have been overwhelmed instantly.

Alex filtered through the information effortlessly.

Within only a few minutes, he had already learned the basic structure of this society.

Hunters.

Dungeons.

Monsters.

Awakening ceremonies.

Guilds.

Ranks.

The foundation of the world quickly became clear.

Unlike the Soul World, where strength was earned through cultivation and gradual advancement, power here was granted through awakening. Individuals who successfully awakened could obtain supernatural abilities and become hunters.

The ranking system extended from E Rank all the way to God Rank.

Most people never awakened.

Only a small percentage gained access to supernatural power.

Even among hunters, high ranking individuals remained extremely rare.

Alex found the structure fascinating because strength was obtained almost immediately after awakening. There was no lengthy cultivation process, no decades of meditation, and no requirement to slowly gather spiritual energy over time.

The system allowed ordinary people to become powerful almost overnight.

"Interesting."

As he continued walking, his attention was drawn toward a giant screen attached to the side of a massive skyscraper.

A news broadcast was currently underway.

A female reporter stood before a large blue gate that radiated mysterious energy.

"Dungeon activity has increased significantly throughout the eastern district."

"Citizens are advised to remain cautious."

"The Hunters Association has already dispatched an A Rank team to investigate the situation."

Alex observed the gate carefully.

His eyes pierced through layers of space and dimensions.

Beyond the entrance, he saw thousands of monsters occupying an isolated pocket dimension. The creatures roamed through a separate world connected directly to reality through the gate.

The dungeon itself was surprisingly sophisticated.

It functioned as a self contained dimension attached to the main world.

After examining the structure, Alex quickly understood its purpose.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

The dungeons were not natural disasters. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

They were not foreign invasions.

They were part of the world’s ecosystem.

The gates served as pressure valves that allowed excess energy to leave the planet in a controlled manner. At the same time, they created opportunities for the population to grow stronger through combat and adaptation.

The monsters, hunters, awakenings, and dungeons were all components of a larger system.

Everything existed in balance.

This world had simply chosen a different path toward evolution.
