Chapter 32: The Unknown People
Monday became a nightmare.
Not for Pulse. Not for St. Claire Entertainment.
But for the internet.
Because nobody could stop talking about the mysterious people who had spent the weekend with Pulse.
Every social media platform was flooded with photographs, videos, fan edits as well as theories, conspiracy posts and millions of comments.
No one knew who the people in the photographs were. Which only made everyone more curious.
The first victims of the internet’s investigation were River and Nicole. The photographs of them together were everywhere.
One photo showed River laughing while Nicole covered her face. Another showed them sitting together during movie night. A third showed River teaching her a game.
The comments exploded.
"THAT’S HIS GIRLFRIEND."
"No one can convince me otherwise."
"They look so cute together!"
"The way River looks at her—"
"Someone check if I’m still breathing."
Nicole unknowingly gained thousands of fans overnight.
Not that she knew. She was still asleep when several fan pages dedicated entire posts to her.
Aaron and Rose weren’t safe either.
The internet had somehow discovered photographs of them talking beside the pool. Another showed Aaron helping Rose adjust her camera settings. Another showed them laughing together.
The comments were equally chaotic.
"Aaron smiling this much is suspicious."
"Who is she?"
"Please tell me she’s an actress."
"They look good together."
Aaron’s fans spent the entire morning analyzing every photograph.
Trying to determine whether Aaron had fallen in love.
Unfortunately for them—
Aaron’s expression revealed absolutely nothing.
Then there was Chris and Liliana.
At first, Chris’s fans weren’t happy. Not at all.
The earliest photographs showed Liliana wearing her usual glasses and simple clothing.
Many fans immediately began questioning why Chris seemed interested in her.
"Who was she?"
"Why was she always near him?"
"Why did they seem comfortable around each other?"
Some comments were harsh. Others were simply curious.
But everything changed when another photograph surfaced. It was a photo from the swimming pool.
The internet exploded once again. Because the woman in the photograph barely resembled the image fans had created in their minds.
Her brown hair flowed freely down her shoulders. Her glasses were gone and her emerald green eyes sparkled beneath the sunlight.
The white swimsuit highlighted her natural beauty. She wasn’t flashy. She wasn’t trying to attract attention.
Yet somehow, everyone noticed her.
The comments immediately shifted.
"WAIT."
"THAT’S THE SAME GIRL?"
"WHO IS SHE?"
"She looks like a celebrity."
"No, she looks like a model."
"Chris and her look ridiculously good together."
"The chemistry is insane."
"The way Chris was staring at her..."
"I’m suddenly supporting this."
Even fan pages that initially criticized Liliana began praising her. Several posts comparing her photographs gained millions of views.
Nobody could understand why such a beautiful woman remained completely unknown. Which only increased everyone’s curiosity.
The Sterling cousins were experiencing similar attention.
Mary gained countless admirers after fans discovered photographs of her beside Leo.
Rose attracted attention due to Aaron.
Emily became popular because of her expressive reactions in almost every picture.
But surprisingly, Nathan and Nicolo became trending topics as well. The two cousins had unknowingly captured the internet’s attention, particularly among Pulse’s female fans.
One post gained nearly two hundred thousand likes.
"Who are these two and why do they look like they belong in Pulse?"
The comments became increasingly ridiculous.
"Can they debut tomorrow?"
"I thought they were idols."
"Why are they both so handsome?"
"Someone give them a modeling contract."
Nathan and Nicolo remained completely unaware of their newfound popularity.
Meanwhile, talent agencies had already begun taking interest.
Inside St. Claire Entertainment, chaos continued.
Employees ran through hallways. Managers attended emergency meetings. Public relations teams monitored social media around the clock.
Robin stared at the trending rankings while Chris sat calmly in his office, looking through the posts, the comments and the photographs.
Most people would have been worried but he wasn’t.
The comments and the rumors didn’t bother him. Even the dating allegations didn’t bother him.
In fact, some of them made him smile.
What worried him was something else. Because while millions of people were trying to discover who Liliana was—
One person already knew.
During the concert, Victor Reyes watched from a distance.
He was not stalking. He was observing. There was a difference. At least that was what he told himself.
The concert had provided another unexpected clue.
The VIP tickets, the front row, reserved seating. Access most people would never receive.
Victor knew enough about the entertainment industry to understand what that meant.
Someone important had arranged those tickets.
His eyes followed Liliana. Then shifted toward the backstage entrance.
Monday came and thousands of photographs suddenly appeared online.
Victor knew that another person was chasing the truth. Or maybe he already knew about it.
The fans didn’t know the people on the photos with Pulse, but Victor knew them. The Sterlings.
And somehow, even he was surprised to see Liliana differently. She was really beautiful. Maybe she made her appearance that way to hide her beauty.
But the other Sterlings were also impossible to ignore. As some of the fans mentioned in the comments, those people with Pulse were on different level in terms of appearance.
Victor shifted to one of the photos. Chris and Liliana standing beside each other. Like the older photos he found, they were too familiar with each other.
And Victor knew that what he had in mind wasn’t just a speculation. It was the truth. But he still needs one final piece of evidence before completing his story.
Meanwhile, high above the city inside St. Claire Tower, Matthew St. Claire received a phone call.
The moment he answered, he knew something was wrong.
Henry never called this late unless it mattered.
"Chairman."
Matthew immediately straightened. "What happened?"
"There was an envelope."
Silence.
The atmosphere inside the office changed instantly.
"What kind of envelope?"
Henry explained quickly.
The photographs, the note. The message.
Every detail.
Matthew listened quietly. His expression was unreadable.
When the explanation ended, several seconds passed, before he exclaimed.
"Damn it." The curse escaped before he could stop it.
Henry understood immediately. This was serious.
"Do you think it was Victor Reyes?"
Matthew walked toward the window.
The city lights reflected across the glass.
"No." The answer came immediately. Confidently. Certain.
Henry frowned. "Why not?"
"Victor is a journalist." Matthew’s voice remained calm. "Journalists want stories." Another pause. "This feels different."
Henry understood.
The photographs weren’t a threat. Not directly. But they were a warning.
Someone wanted Chris to know they were watching. Someone wanted him to feel nervous.
And that meant something far more dangerous than journalism.
