Chapter 672: Chapter 672: Zhou Family Head

The ferocious palm strike was astonishingly powerful, like a truck charging head-on. If it had truly connected with Yang Qi, it would have caused significant damage. After all, he was facing a peak Second Rank Overlord.

Without enhancing his Combat Power, Yang Qi threw a punch using only the strength of a Tenth Rank Great Grandmaster.

Fire Fist Skill!

Raging flames coalesced into a roaring beast, colliding head-on with the terrifying torrent of wind. In the next instant, the blast of Powerful Energy detonated. Yang Qi’s feet slid backward continuously, carving two deep ravines into the ground.

This single palm strike had forced him back more than ten meters. Though uninjured, he was clearly at a disadvantage.

"Not bad. I blocked it."

Yang Qi shook out his hand. The fact that his Combat Power as a Tenth Rank Great Grandmaster could block a strike from a peak Second Rank Overlord proved that he had truly been reborn.

The onlookers gasped in unison. It was unimaginable. A mere Tenth Rank Great Grandmaster had just blocked a strike from a peak Second Rank Overlord. Crucially, he wasn’t even hurt—only pushed back.

How was this possible? It was simply incredible.

The Zhou Family Head was also stunned. He squinted at Yang Qi, unable to recall ever seeing such an expert. "Are you from Capital City? Or perhaps a disciple of a Hidden Sect?"

A seed of worry began to sprout. If this man was from Capital City or a Hidden Sect, the consequences of provoking him would be unthinkable.

"There’s no need for wild guesses. I have nothing to do with Capital City, nor am I from any Hidden Sect."

’Hidden Sect’ was an abbreviation for the reclusive sects of the martial world. The Heavenly God Sect, for instance, was known as the strongest among them. Yang Qi, however, had only ever heard of these Hidden Sects and had never met a member of one.

"Since you have no powerful backing, then you won’t be leaving here today," the Zhou Family Head said coldly.

"Heh, let me give you a piece of advice," Yang Qi said with a smile. "If I leave now, your Zhou Family will at least suffer no more deaths. But if you try to force me to stay, I’m afraid you yourself will meet an untimely end. Are you sure you want to do this?"

Hearing this, the crowd was stunned once again. This kid had some serious nerve. He was just a Tenth Rank Great Grandmaster who had already been repelled by the Family Head’s strike, yet he dared to speak so arrogantly.

"How ignorant!" someone said with disdain.

"So arrogant!" another mocked.

"Hahaha!" The Zhou Family Head burst out laughing. "Kid, seeing as you have some skill, I can spare your life. But you must kneel and submit to the judgment of the Zhou Family. Whether you live or die will depend on your performance."

BOOM!

As his words fell, the Zhou Family Head unleashed his full aura, as powerful and explosive as a volcano.

Yang Qi frowned. This man was truly courting death. In that case, he couldn’t be blamed for being ruthless.

"Sigh..." Yang Qi let out a sigh.

"What are you sighing for?" the Zhou Family Head asked.

"I’m sighing because this world is full of people like you who don’t know their own limits. Why must you bring this upon yourself?" Yang Qi said, shaking his head.

"Arrogant! It seems you’re truly incorrigible," the Family Head spat. "In that case, I will take your worthless life and avenge Elder Sun Yu!"

With that, he struck out with his palm once more. This attack was far stronger than the last. Before, he had looked down on Yang Qi and held back, but this strike was meant to kill.

"So you really want to fight to the death? Fine. I’ll let you experience true despair!"

A flash of murderous intent flickered in Yang Qi’s eyes.

BOOM!

A terrifying aura erupted, filling the entire area. A fearsome storm of energy formed with him at its center, instantly shattering the incoming palm strike.

"An Overlord! A First Rank Overlord!"

Everyone cried out in disbelief.

How could this be? The kid looked to be in his twenties at most—how could he be an Overlord-level expert? And a peak First Rank Overlord at that!

Everyone was stunned beyond belief, simply refusing to believe what they were seeing. An Overlord! He was actually an Overlord! In their minds, only people over fifty years old had any chance of becoming an Overlord through their cultivation. This was a product of their limited perspective. Yang Qi himself knew several Overlord-level experts who were only in their thirties or forties. Indeed, one’s worldview is defined by the limits of their experience.

Then again, an Overlord in their twenties was truly a rarity. To these onlookers, it was something they’d thought impossible.

"Now, may I leave?" Yang Qi asked coolly.

"Hmph. Leave? So what if you’re a First Rank Overlord? As the Family Head, I am a peak Second Rank Overlord. You think I’m afraid of you?"

The Zhou Family Head unleashed his full Combat Power, and the entire area fell under the immense, oppressive pressure of an Overlord-level expert.

"Kill!"

Yang Qi couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words. He felt he had been merciful enough. Since his opponent was utterly unreasonable, he had no choice but to strike hard. Activating Wind Step, Yang Qi slashed at the Zhou Family Head with his golden longsword. The Zhou Family Head hurriedly drew his own weapon—also a sword.

CLANG!

With a sharp ringing of metal, a figure was sent flying backward.

THUD!

The figure crashed heavily against a tree, snapping its thick trunk in two.

When the crowd saw who it was, they gasped. The one sent flying was none other than the Zhou Family Head.

"A peak Second Rank Overlord, and this is all you’ve got? You’re pathetic. And you thought you could stop me?" Yang Qi sneered. "Since you won’t let me leave, I’ll teach you a lesson today and show you that some people are not to be trifled with!"

WHOOSH!

Activating Wind Step, Yang Qi instantly reappeared before the Zhou Family Head. The Zhou Family Head’s expression was ghastly. He could only muster a desperate defense, finding it impossible to believe a man so young could be this powerful. It was utterly inconceivable.

Damn it, I have to block him! I just need to hold out! Father will be here soon! When Father and the two elders arrive, this little bastard is as good as dead!

The Zhou Family Head clenched his teeth and put all his energy into defense, abandoning any thought of attacking. He just hoped he could hold out against Yang Qi.

"Trying to stall for time? Fine. I’d like to see what other experts your Zhou Family can muster," Yang Qi said with a cold laugh. "If I don’t beat you into submission today, I doubt you’ll ever learn your lesson!"

He sheathed his golden longsword and threw a punch.

CRACK!

The precious sword in the Family Head’s hand shattered instantly as the punch landed squarely on his abdomen. The Zhou Family Head vomited a mouthful of blood and tumbled a dozen times across the ground before finally skidding to a halt. He was covered in injuries, with who knows how many broken bones. This was Yang Qi showing mercy; if he had used his sword, the Zhou Family Head would already be a corpse.

Even so, the Zhou Family Head trembled violently, his eyes filled with terror as he continued to cough up blood. He was a pathetic sight, a stark contrast to his arrogant and overbearing demeanor from moments before.

The surrounding crowd watched on with a complex mix of emotions.
