Chapter 85: Chapter 85: I Predict You
The livestream camera didn’t pan over, but the people in front could be seen turning their heads toward the direction of the voice.
Jiang Che looked at the newcomer, first noticing her sleek black hair and those deep, dark eyes.
The breeze was gentle. The girl wore a loose shirt and a dark green pleated skirt below.
Her black hair was casually draped down her back, her face pale and clear.
Noticing Jiang Che looking at her, she smiled with lively eyes shining with spirit.
"Miss, what brings you here?" Fanben spoke respectfully, though the panic in his eyes was hard to hide.
"You’re called Qin, right?" The girl didn’t look at Fanben.
Qin nodded fearfully, unsure of what the Miss meant.
"From today, Fanben is stripped of the squad leader position. Subsequent promotions will be strictly evaluated. You are replacing him for this mission. After you return, passing the assessment means you’ll be the leader of Team 23."
Jiang Che looked seriously at the girl in front of him; when she spoke, her eyes shone with the brightness of the sun.
Even in this somewhat desolate land, nothing could hide the brilliance and spiritual energy in her eyes.
Fanben lowered his head, bitter at the corners of his mouth, not daring to meet her eyes, and only softly responded, "Yes."
The livestream didn’t show the girl’s face, but the chat already went wild.
[Miss? Isn’t she the heiress of the Flying Tiger Organization?]
[Fanben was pushing people to spill secrets, and got caught red-handed.]
[When he was pressing for answers, like Xiong Jie said, it was a bit too much. Everyone deserves the right to keep their own secrets.]
...
The girl just quietly walked up to the camera. Xiong Jie pulled Jiang Che aside, leaving the shot to her alone.
"Hello everyone, my name is Flying Tiger."
She didn’t explain her identity, just bowed deeply to the camera.
"This incident was Flying Tiger’s fault. Please rest assured—Flying Tiger will never force any Survivor to share their secrets. Our original intent was only to build a better survival platform for everyone to share their experience, not their secrets."
"Of course, if you feel experience is too personal, you also have the right to say ’no.’"
"Our aim is to benefit each other, not oppress your interests."
"I promise you all, if anything like this happens again, it will be dealt with at the highest level. If there’s anything the overseers miss, you can report it to Flying Tiger. Flying Tiger will guarantee the safety and interests of every Survivor."
She bowed deeply again in front of the camera.
No one questioned her authority—just one sentence from her stripped Fanben of his leader position, showing her words had weight.
Nothing else mattered—just the name Flying Tiger said it all.
No one had heard the organization’s founder was this girl; from Fanben’s words earlier, it seemed the founder was her father.
Flying Tiger, an organization named after his own daughter.
"Of course, tests can also be refused, but I believe testing doesn’t harm your interests, and it helps you better understand your status, as well as the benefits of clearing dungeons."
Xiong Jie nodded; he agreed with this view.
In modern society, displaying potential and strength is part of survival too.
"I’ll go first," he said as he walked toward the testing equipment.
Jiang Che nodded. He saw Xiong Jie covered in various devices; beside him an instrument the size of a TV displayed data.
"You really won’t consider joining Flying Tiger? I could arrange a reliable squad for you." Flying Tiger stood beside Jiang Che, her eyes bright.
"Xiong Jie might protect your safety, but only with Flying Tiger can you truly grow." She thought Jiang Che had great potential—not because his combat power was extraordinary.
But because Jiang Che’s luck was extraordinary.
She’d watched clips from Jiang Che’s livestream; his survival tactics baffled her.
Yet he always survived—in the prison, for example, neither Jiang Che nor Xiong Jie tried opening the cell door, nor realized the Evil Spirit didn’t lock them in.
When she realized Evil Spirit hadn’t locked the cell, she thought it absurd, but then felt it also made sense.
"Aren’t you just like him?" Jiang Che asked, gesturing between her and Fanben.
Flying Tiger wasn’t offended by the question. "Not the same. I’m actually arranging something for you."
"Luck is part of ability—I think you’re stronger than anyone." She squinted, appraising Jiang Che. What Xiong Jie said was true, but there was a bigger question.
The fact that purple Life Essence was so precious, and Xiong Jie still let Jiang Che keep one?
She’d met many like Xiong Jie—maybe not only out for profit, but definitely selfish.
The logical thing, before Flying Tiger Squad arrived, was for Xiong Jie to pocket Jiang Che’s Life Essence for himself.
But he didn’t. Not only did he leave Jiang Che with his own, he even gave him his own watch, letting Jiang Che carry one.
The lie detector they brought was the most advanced, even mixed with dungeon-related item detection functions—though most people didn’t know that.
Someone like Xiong Jie shouldn’t be able to fool the machine.
She wondered if Xiong Jie had some concern, not daring to snatch Jiang Che’s stuff?
"I don’t have luck," Jiang Che shook his head. It was all arranged by his wife—he didn’t call it luck.
Flying Tiger glanced sideways at the lie detector. Hmm, no reaction.
He really didn’t think his whole journey was just luck?
"No luck and still much stronger than me." Flying Tiger shook her head.
"Your name sounds really tough."
"Did you found the Flying Tiger Organization yourself?" Jiang Che looked at her in confusion.
"No, my father founded it." Flying Tiger didn’t care about the comment on her name; Jiang Che wasn’t the first to question it. "I think my name is pretty strong too. I was sick a lot as a kid—there’s this idea of a tough name for survival, so my dad wanted to pick a badass name to keep me alive."
"Your dad’s great." Jiang Che nodded, but wasn’t envious.
Because he felt his own dad was pretty good too!
"Second rank—almost third." Qin came over to report the test results for Xiong Jie.
No one expected that after just one SSS dungeon cleared, Xiong Jie could reach second rank.
That’s the power of being the first to clear an SSS dungeon?
"Your turn. I predict you’re almost at second rank, too." Flying Tiger said seriously, "Though you’re not the first, the benefits of clearing an SSS dungeon are still significant."
