Chapter 193: Chapter 193: No Matter How Strong She Is, She’s Still a Woman!
"You found them?!" Feng Xiang’s voice rose with excitement.
"You found your wife and kid too?" He frowned, something feeling off—he and Jiang Che had grown up together, so how come he never knew Jiang Che had a wife or a child?
"Yeah." Jiang Che didn’t see anything weird about it.
"Why does it feel so strange though?" He scratched his head, unable to pinpoint what was wrong for the moment.
"But your wife must be gorgeous. Whenever it works out, you gotta let us meet her." Since he couldn’t figure it out, Feng Xiang just shook his head aside.
He’d known Jiang Che for ages and understood exactly what kind of person Jiang Che was.
There were plenty of patients in the mental hospital back then, but only the two of them could really connect and talk.
The other patients always insisted they weren’t sick, thought everyone else was, and refused to bother with anyone else.
They never believed a word anyone else said.
But with him, no matter what he said, Jiang Che would believe him.
Just as he would believe whatever Jiang Che said too.
Jiang Che said he had family but couldn’t find them, so after being discharged, he went looking.
Even though Jiang Che hadn’t seen Brother Xiang in a long time, he never once thought Brother Xiang had lied or abandoned him.
If he didn’t come back for him, there must have been some reason he couldn’t help.
And right now, Feng Xiang believed everything Jiang Che said—whoever his family and wife and kids were, if Jiang Che recognized them, then they were good people.
Now, Jiang Che was reaching out to Tuantuan, wanting to know which evil spirit was responsible for Brother Xiang’s current form.
He started calling out to Tuantuan in his head, not bothering Ding Ning—he knew Ding Ning must be resting now.
"Tuantuan, do you know if there’s an SSS-level Lord who likes to chop off people’s limbs and turn them into jars?"
Ever since Ding Ning began recovering, Tuantuan kept a close watch on Jiang Che’s status.
Mother was so weak now, nobody knew when she’d be fully back.
And Dad seemed to be under attack from humans again—she’d never let Dad get hurt!
They couldn’t help right now, but Dad wouldn’t be in mortal danger either.
Jiang Che had plenty of lifelines on him, none of them fake.
She couldn’t help, but she could make sure to remember every one of those people.
When she could get out, she’d settle accounts with all of them, one by one!
Ding Ning originally set up a restriction on her, changing their passive ability to check each other’s situation into an active one—requiring both sides to agree to see each other’s perspective.
But just when Ding Ning was weakened, she lifted that restriction.
Tuantuan could now see what was happening with Jiang Che.
She saw Jiang Che facing off against a human, dragging him into a domain he’d conjured—a room designed as a "desperate beast’s cage."
The two of them lay on separate beds, talking about everything that had happened since they were separated.
This human was actually Dad’s old friend from the mental hospital!
"I know." Jiang Che’s question was right in Tuantuan’s wheelhouse.
"There’s definitely a Lord who lives inside a jar, looks exactly like Uncle now."
With Tuantuan’s answer, Jiang Che had what he needed.
Jiang Che stayed in touch with Tuantuan in his mind, but showed Brother Xiang pictures of his family, wife, and daughter.
He wasn’t much for exaggeration—he’d only tell Brother Xiang about that so-called Lord after he’d dragged it out of its jar.
Brother Xiang didn’t care what he looked like now, but Jiang Che did.
Like just a minute ago, Feng Xiang didn’t care about his own appearance, but he grabbed Jiang Che to inspect him from head to toe, worried Jiang Che had ended up the same way.
"Why would your wife stay inside the Dungeon? That’s way too dangerous," Feng Xiang frowned. Hearing Jiang Che say he met his wife and parents in Dungeon Number Nine sounded horrifying.
The Dungeon was creepy to begin with, you could die at any moment.
He only survived thanks to this jar on his body—it kept him from being broken.
The jar ruined him, and it made him too.
"She’s strong," Jiang Che said firmly.
Whenever he talked about Ning, his eyes shone with pride.
"Nobody in Dungeon Number Nine can beat her."
"No wonder you made it out alive, but it’s not good for your wife to stay in there forever. That place is way too dangerous."
He started out with no arms or legs, and learned about live streaming, but couldn’t watch without limbs or handle a phone.
Later, he grew stronger, could use energy to manifest arms, but by then he’d completely forgotten about it.
People around him saw he never watched streams and thought he just didn’t like them, so never brought it up.
They were all afraid they’d say something to hurt him.
Because of that, when Jiang Che entered the Dungeon, he was really worried, but had no way to know anything about Jiang Che.
"Yeah, it’s way too dangerous," Jiang Che nodded. According to Ding Ning and Tuantuan, there were tons of Lords inside the Dungeon, all fighting and scheming against one another.
"Once the passage opens up, I’ll bring them straight to me, first thing."
"It’s all the Dark Forest’s fault, blocking the way now."
If only the passage had been cleared sooner—they could’ve reunited with Ding Ning earlier.
The two porters nearby kept quiet, listening to their conversation and glancing questioningly at Jiang Che.
Mr. Ren hadn’t watched the stream, didn’t know anything, but they had.
That Dungeon run of Jiang Che’s—they saw it.
But Mr. Ren barely talked with them back then; they never knew he and Jiang Che were friends.
Otherwise they’d have shown Mr. Ren the stream ages ago.
Mr. Ren really had no clue—Jiang Che went nuts in the Dungeon.
The mom and dad he mentioned...weren’t they Blood Slaughter and his wife?
The wife and kid he talked about—it wasn’t clear what kind of monster they really were, but definitely not human.
Feng Xiang frowned and pondered, "Yeah, even if your wife’s strong, she’s still a woman! Being trapped in the Dungeon so long isn’t right."
"No matter how tough, she can’t last that long!"
"What’s with this Dungeon and passage you’re talking about?" He said, already starting to move.
"When I’ve got a chance, I’ll clear all those trees blocking the passage for you, get your wife and niece out for sure."
He finished and started heading outside, determination burning in his eyes.
Tuantuan’s expression turned strange. She looked at Ding Ning, who was resting with eyes closed. Ding Ning seemed to sense her gaze and slowly opened her eyes.
"Mother, Dad’s friend says he’s going to rescue us."
