Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Why... Are You Together with Evil Spirits?
The other evil spirits saw the two weren’t speaking and immediately realized they were communicating telepathically.
They curled their lips, not caring much.
It was common for Lords to make deals like this among themselves and not tell the others.
Ding Ning heard what he said, her pupils abruptly contracting.
This was information she’d stumbled upon by chance before—she had only told Hua about it.
The documents stated that if a human could clear all ten SSS-level dungeons, even if not the first to do so, once completed they would gather the power of all ten dungeons and begin to transform.
She didn’t know if this was true, but she kept it secretly in her heart.
Now, hearing Black Crow’s telepathic message, she narrowed her eyes and didn’t reply.
She’d only told Hua, but that didn’t mean she suspected Hua of sharing it with other Lords.
She was just wondering, if even Black Crow knew, maybe the other Lords did too.
Or, just how many people knew about this.
But it seemed unlikely many did, since some dungeons’ first clear had already been taken.
If they knew, they wouldn’t have let humans clear their dungeons so easily.
"Don’t overthink it."
"Because the document you saw, I gave it to you." Black Crow’s voice was sharp—hoarse and grating.
Ding Ning’s gaze deepened; she’d found this item when expanding her territory, in a tree hollow in the Black Forest.
The writing on it was cryptic and hard to decipher—it took a long time to decode, and after all that, she only got this vague answer.
She’d always thought she’d found it herself, but now was being told Black Crow had prepared it especially for her.
She looked thoughtfully at the strange bird who had dispelled the black fog. He wore a bizarre suit, seemingly acquired from humans.
The bulging suit wrapped around all his feathers, looking terribly ill-fitting.
The last time she saw Black Crow, he hadn’t been dressed like this.
Noticing her gaze, Black Crow shook himself.
"Not bad, I’m pretty satisfied with this look."
"I saw a human wearing this before. What was the word in their mouth... let me think..."
"Gentleman, right, a gentleman."
"You gave me the info? Why me and not the others?" Ding Ning looked at him, voicing her doubt.
"Because they all display the exit, making it a trap to toy with humans."
"Some territories have even been escaped by humans."
"Only you keep the exit hidden." Black Crow chuckled, "I just wanted to keep it from them..."
He stopped speaking at that point.
"What do you want?" Ding Ning just needed to confirm she alone knew this secret.
"I’ll send a clone into your dungeon and have him exit from there." Black Crow stared at Ding Ning’s eyes.
He glanced at Jiang Che below, "I can let him clear it, and if he wants to clear other dungeons later, I can help him too."
"Because I also want to try it—see what happens after collecting the origin power from all ten dungeons." After saying this, he fell silent.
Ding Ning glanced at him and didn’t ask how an evil spirit could exit a dungeon and collect the origin power of all ten dungeons.
Just like Dark Star cultivates seeds, every Lord has their own abilities.
"As for whether we’ll become rivals one day, that’s a problem for the future, isn’t it?" Black Crow spread his wings, not willing to think about it right now.
"Alright, I agree." Ding Ning nodded.
"Excellent."
"I’ll send someone to you, next time when your dungeon opens and someone enters from the Human Realm."
"Get things ready—open it again soon." Black Crow chuckled, and at that moment everyone saw a passage appear in front of Jiang Che.
At the end of the passage were ten halos representing the exits; only the second exit, the black one, shone brilliantly.
Each exit gave off a different color—against the dark backdrop, that second black exit was strikingly obvious.
Ding Ning noticed that the ten halos matched the colors representing factions on the human wristbands from before.
If the white exit represented her dungeon territory, then the black exit corresponded to Number 2 Dungeon: Land of Chaos.
The halo of this exit was dim, but Ding Ning noted that Dark Star’s black-violet glow was also dazzling.
She made a mental note.
Thinking of Black Crow’s words earlier—if one halo meant he’d collected a dungeon’s origin, then had he already gathered Dark Star’s dungeon power?
How does an evil spirit collect the origin power from other dungeons?
She remained silent.
Jiang Che looked at the exit before him. He’d encountered the exit of Ding Ning’s dungeon before; he was familiar with the energy of these escape points.
The black-violet energy was a bit weaker; all the other exits had no light at all.
Their only choice now was the black exit.
"Daddy, Tuantuan doesn’t want you to leave." Tuantuan hugged Jiang Che’s thigh, glancing sideways at the exit. She hadn’t expected Daddy to leave again so soon after finally being together.
Ding Ning didn’t appear—they were still constructing the passage and couldn’t move for the moment.
The foundation of the passage was set, and the flesh was solidifying.
They were now doing the final stabilization.
Since the flesh began to solidify, Ding Ning’s chances to tamper with the passage vanished—people died too fast.
The foreshadowing she just laid never even started; the steel bars had just been put in, and then the concrete poured in immediately.
Not a single gap left.
Jiang Che patted her head. "Then I’ll wait a bit before leaving."
The dungeon’s exit had opened before him. He trusted Ning’s handiwork, and it wouldn’t close soon.
"Tuantuan just learned a new word—Daddy, if you go, Tuantuan will be a ’left-behind child’." She pitifully clung to Jiang Che’s hand.
"But you have to know, no matter where you are, I’ll always be in your heart, growing up with you." Jiang Che hugged her and lifted her onto his shoulders.
Instead of heading toward the exit, he let Tuantuan sit on his neck, riding him like a pony around the dungeon.
Fei Hu watched this scene and kept her mouth shut.
She finally understood now: the child Jiang Che was carrying was actually an evil spirit.
Xiong Jie didn’t seem surprised—he seemed to have known all along.
Zhou Ang just looked on enviously; Fei Hu glanced at him once and then looked away.
In her eyes, Zhou Ang was just a normal human—for him to even realize Tuantuan’s an evil spirit would be difficult enough.
"You...why are you with an evil spirit?" Fei Hu was silent for a long while before finally asking.
She wondered if this would get her killed, but the question was too important to her.
