Chapter 143: Chapter 143: From Now On, I Will Introduce My Family Like Everyone Else

When Hua heard that it was given by Ning, all her doubts disappeared.

She smiled and stepped back; with this power, she truly didn’t need to lift a finger anymore.

"Hmph, if you’d had this power earlier, I wouldn’t have needed to protect you," she snorted arrogantly.

Jiang Che grinned, his outstretched palm slowly closing, almost into a fist.

In front of him, over a thousand Survivors were already surrounded by earth; they couldn’t move, their eyes filled only with despair.

He only needed to clench his fist a little, and everyone here would die at his hands.

"Jiang Che, do you really dare to kill us?" In the sand and dirt, most people were already buried, the swirling, heavy dust blocking their view of Jiang Che.

"So many humans—don’t you feel any guilt at all?" Liu Zijun’s body was already buried, only his head still sticking out.

And he was still sinking even further.

"Brother, please, let me go. I’ll do anything you say from now on."

"If you let me go now, I’ll kill this Liu Zijun for you right away."

The others had already changed their tune; Jiang Che’s strength surpassed anything they had imagined.

They couldn’t even understand why Jiang Che was this powerful.

He was supposed to be just a Survivor who had cleared an SSS-level Dungeon—how was he handling all of them so effortlessly?

Even someone as strong as tenth-stage Liu Zijun could offer no resistance at all.

Liu Zijun’s face turned ugly.

These people were willing to sell him out just to survive.

Jiang Che’s real strength was hard to judge, but the fact that he could finish Liu off so easily meant he was on a whole other level.

With power like this, taking a few people out of the Dungeon was exactly what you’d expect.

A lot of people still had a bit of breath left, their lower bodies submerged in sand, their faces flushed purple from the strain.

Ragged, desperate breaths filled the air, but every movement, every action, was frozen.

Most people were completely covered; only two or three hundred, stronger than the rest, could at least resist the sinking with their physical strength even if they couldn’t move.

With death looming, Liu Zijun just decided to give up on everything.

"Everyone, I think he’s betrayed humanity," Liu Zijun ground his teeth, furious.

"Earlier, I got a message—it told us that if we killed Jiang Che, we’d be allowed out alive."

"Back then, I had no idea he was this strong."

"Of course the Evil Spirits won’t let us escape, so they just threw an unbeatable enemy at us." The more Liu Zijun talked, the redder his eyes got. The dirt had already reached his mouth; with every word, sand poured in.

He kept spitting, coughing out mouthfuls of earth, choking out what he had to say in shuddering bits.

"Now that I think about it—what if he’s already struck a deal with the Evil Spirits? Otherwise, how could a human get this strong so fast?"

He believed in the Flying Tiger Organization’s detection; he’d witnessed it himself.

Back then, Jiang Che seemed so naive, simple, totally clueless about the world.

"Do you even have a conscience?"

"Isn’t our duty as humans to fight the Evil Spirits? How can you do this? Don’t you feel guilty at all?"

"Hundreds will die at your hands. You’ll be the greatest butcher since the supernatural descended!"

Tuantuan’s eyes narrowed, glaring venomously at Liu Zijun, her skin starting to turn red, then black.

"Don’t you say that about my dad!" She struggled, trying to lunge at Liu Zijun and rip out his mouth.

She felt that Jiang Che’s heart really did waver a bit after hearing those words.

She also knew Jiang Che’s identity was human.

No matter the group, "traitor" was a heavy, painful label.

They’d never tried to control Jiang Che’s choices, always telling him: whether it’s Evil Spirits or humans—if they provoke us, we can kill them.

That’s why when Zhou Ang was good to Jiang Che, they’d accepted him, let him follow Jiang Che around.

The whole family had always stood with Jiang Che, never forcing him to pick a side.

And now, with just a few words from Chen Zijun, all their efforts were about to go up in smoke.

Tuantuan’s transformation scared Chen Zijun badly.

He never imagined the "obedient" little human kid at Jiang Che’s side would change like that.

That twisted face, that warped body—none of it was really human anymore.

Suddenly he remembered the Little Evil Spirit in Dungeon 9, who’d nearly killed Jiang Che in the graveyard, then later clung to him, calling him dad.

After Jiang Che left the Dungeon, he’d chalked it up to dumb luck.

But now, seeing Tuantuan, he instantly matched her to the Little Evil Spirit from Dungeon 9 calling Jiang Che "dad."

"He—he really is a traitor!" Terror flashed in Chen Zijun’s eyes—he realized he’d stumbled onto a world-shaking secret.

So Jiang Che making it out of Dungeon 9 alive—was never just luck.

He had betrayed humanity from the very start!

Chen Zijun noticed the sand around him had stopped moving, and he was no longer sinking.

"Hahaha! I know, I know now!" Chen Zijun laughed like a madman.

"So you’ve been betraying humanity ever since Dungeon 9!"

"All your power comes from betraying humanity!" Chen Zijun howled with everything he had, wanting everyone else to hear it too.

Jiang Che stopped burying them further.

He listened patiently to Chen Zijun’s words, his face absolutely blank.

"So, are you going to kill us all for those Evil Spirits, you traitor?"

"People like you are just psycho scum—death’s too good for you!"

Jiang Che wrapped his arms around Tuantuan, pinning her down so she couldn’t attack them.

"You’re right," Jiang Che grinned.

"But the thing is, none of this matters if nobody knows about it." A hint of indifference flickered in his eyes.

As if suddenly struck by something, Liu Zijun froze.

"If I kill all of you, then no one will ever know."

"And I’m not afraid of you knowing—because that’s not an Evil Spirit, that’s my wife, she’s my partner for life." A ghost of a smile tugged at Jiang Che’s mouth.

"I stopped attacking, not because your words changed my mind, nor because I feel guilty and won’t touch you anymore."

"I just wanted you all to know—she’s my wife."

He lifted Tuantuan, setting her on his shoulders.

"And this—this is my daughter." He showed her off to the crowd, proud of his family.

Tuantuan’s monstrous body twisted back, becoming once again a docile human child.

The stopped quicksand surged up even fiercer than before; Jiang Che clenched his fist tightly, merciless.

The rolling earth instantly closed in, enfolding everyone, crushing, twisting.

"From now on, I’ll always introduce my family to everyone this way."

Jiang Che held Tuantuan, staring at that bulging mound of earth.
