Madam Laura reached outside of the cell, where the inmates had been clearing the bushes. She sighted Felicia who was seated on a bench and walked up to her.
"Why aren’t you clearing any bushes?" Madam Laura questioned her.
Felicia quickly sprang up from her seat and replied,
"I was waiting for you to come so that we can clear them together. I noticed the kind of looks your lackeys were giving me and I was scared doing it without you here. They could kill me if they wanted to."
"But you are still alive and kicking so they have no intent on killing you," said Madam Laura.
She looked behind and saw her lackeys watching them before they continued to clear the bushes.
"Let’s go," Madam Laura ordered and Felicia nodded.
Everyone started clearing the bushes which was quite difficult since it was thick, almost like a forest but also because of the large acres of excess land on which the bushes grew.
Juliet finished with the cleaning of Madam Laura’s cell room and also joined them.
Her eyes were on Felicia the whole time. Whenever Felicia was no longer in sight and when to drink some water, Juliet would always follow behind her.
Since Madam Laura had told her that there was a chance that Felicia wanted to escape from prison, she wanted to keep a close watch on her and catch her before she escaped since she knew that Felicia wasn’t escaping to live a peaceful life, but she’s going to look for Erika and try to trouble her again and she didn’t want that to happen.
Juliet had come to realize that Erika was a nice person and she and her mother were the evil ones, so to mend things, she took it upon herself to stop Felicia from escaping.
But the only thing that could make her unable to do so was her release which was to come in a few weeks.
"Just try to escape as soon as possible, Felicia," Juliet mumbled under her breath when she saw Felicia coming back to continue her work.
"What are you mumbling about?" Mary asked her. She had been watching how Juliet kept on following Felicia with her eyes as if she were a watchdog, monitoring her movements all the time. "And why are you glaring at Felicia like that?"
Juliet looked at her mother before she replied, freewebnøvel.coɱ
"Felicia is up to something."
Mary raised her eyebrows in confusion, "She’s always up to something, It’s nothing new." She said before continuing her work.
Juliet stared at her mother and sighed because she was right but she didn’t bother to say what Madam Laura had told her so she simply resumed her work.
After spending 4 hours in the scorching hot sun, trying to clear the bushes, the inmates were finally done and they dropped their cutlasses and went back to their cell room to rest while some decided to take a long shower.
Felicia was one of the few inmates who went to shower and Juliet quickly followed behind her.
"Juliet," Felicia called her when she was about to brush her teeth. Her face was so red due to the time she spent under the hot sun and it only made her look like a tomato. "Why are you everywhere I am? Do you think I’m going to frame you like you said I did if you take your eyes off of me for just a second, hmm?" Felicia asked before sparing Juliet a glance.
"Why do you ask? Are you planning on framing me again?" Juliet questioned back before brushing her teeth as well.
Felicia smiled but didn’t say anything. She finished brushing her teeth and rinsed her mouth before she replied.
"You seem to be extra careful these days hmm? But everyone knows that I didn’t frame you, you are just not careful of your steps and you left a mistake behind," said Felicia.
Juliet frowned before she realized why Felicia was speaking like that. There were other inmates around and she was being careful.
"I see. But why are you so nervous about me following you when I’m not even following you? We just happened to be at the same place, at the same time. You think too highly of yourself Felicia, but everyone here knows what kind of a person you are, not that I need to remind you anyway. Go take a bath, you stink just like your personality," Juliet remarked which hit Felicia right in her heart, and her blood boiled in anger.
The other inmates who were around quickly burst out in laughter without holding back at all.
Felicia glared at them but couldn’t say a single thing. It was as if the cat had just caught her tongue. Since she didn’t have anything else to say, she simply walked into one of the cubicles and closed it behind her.
Juliet on the other hand was happy she was able to bring out such a reaction from Felicia.
’I just need to provoke her some more and maybe she will yell out her plans in frustration. But will that work?’ She sighed before continuing.
’She’s a woman of virtue and this wouldn’t be easy. Maybe I should befriend her?’ She thought before quickly shaking her head against that idea. ’I can’t even stand her for a second so how will I pull that off? I just have to provoke her and follow her everywhere she goes and catch her before my release.’ She decided.
When the other inmates saw Juliet standing there and thinking to herself before they saw her shaking her head profusely as if she was having a battle with herself, they broke out in laughter.
"Everyone in this prison is just crazy in the head. I mean look at her shaking her head like a crazy woman," one of the inmates said.
"I can’t blame her. After the torture she received from Madam Laura, who will be in their right senses?" Remarked another.
"Maybe you should just stop talking before I frame you and get your faces scarred by madam Laura, I know your cell rooms," said Juliet smirking and the inmates quickly clipped their mouths shut and left.
