Chapter 389: BAR MEETING
It was just another normal day in Anderson’s mansion. Jude got the boys ready for school while Erika prepared their lunch.
After wearing their uniforms, they came down for breakfast. Luca scanned the dining table but didn’t spot Ethan around. Curious, he asked,
"Mum, where’s dad?"
"Oh, he had to attend an early meeting so he had to leave quite early." She responded and Luca nodded before reaching for the toast bread. But when his hand couldn’t reach it, he signaled Jake who was sitting on the far end of the table to help him bring a few.
After eating their breakfast, Erika got ready to drive them to school.
"Did you do your homework today?" she asked when they were already in the car, about to leave.
"Yes, mum!" The three boys replied in unison and Erika couldn’t help but smile at how cheerful they were that morning.
"Alright then, wear your seatbelts," she instructed and they did as she had instructed.
Suddenly, a text came through her phone and Erika picked it up only to see an unknown number giving her a location with a few instructions after it.
Frowning, Erika tried to call the number but it was out of reach. After trying a few more times, Erika was suddenly interrupted by John’s call.
"Mummy, let’s go, or else we are going to be late," he reminded her. Erika nodded and quickly ignited the engines of the car.
"Who could that be?" she wondered. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Getting to the school, she wished the boys a good day, drove out of the school’s environment, and parked elsewhere.
Reaching into her purse, Erika searched for her phone and tried dialing the number again but it repeated the same thing when she did the first time, ’out of reach’.
"How did they even get my number?" she asked herself. "This isn’t good. Maybe I should call Ethan," she concluded but paused when she remembered that he left early for work because of an urgent meeting and might not be available to pick up her call but she still gave it a try.
Erika signed when she heard that his phone was switched off.
"I guess I have to go there and see who this person is."
–
"Boss, are you sure that she’s going to come? It’s already been 2 hours since you sent her that text but she hasn’t even texted back out of curiosity." A woman wearing wearing a blue gown asked another, who was wearing black.
The other woman was holding a phone in her hand, playing a game while sipping from her drink from time to time, suddenly yelled out loud, startling the one wearing the black suit.
"What’s it boss?" She questioned, feeling concerned.
Richard hissed in annoyance before smacking Ellie’s nape.
"Why do you have to talk so loud when I’m playing a game? Now you have made me lose the level I’m at."
"I’m sorry boss, I didn’t know you were playing a game," Ellie, Jennie’s executive assistant, immediately apologized.
"What were you asking before?" Jennie asked, ready to replay the level she’d just lost.
"I was just asking if you are sure about Ethan’s wife, Erika coming here. It’s been 2 hours already since you last texted her but still, nothing."
"I see," said Jennie but his whole focus was on the game in her hand. "I assure you she’s going to come, no doubt about it." She said with so much assurance that had Ellie question herself what made her so sure about it.
As if Jennie had heard her question, she replied,
"I’m sure she must be curious to see who has been the one giving her husband so much trouble at work."
Ellie glanced at Jennie before shifting her eyes towards the door of the bar they were in.
After waiting for half an hour more, they saw the one they were waiting for.
Erika walked inside the bar, slightly stunned that it opened that early in the morning.
Watching her steps carefully since she wasn’t sure who texted her that morning.
"Boss, she’s over there!" Ellie pointed at Erika whose attention was on the dancing floor that had a few women trying to shake what they weren’t born with.
Jennie stared at Erika and smirked before ahe stood up and walked towards her. Erika’s back faced her so she didn’t see jennie behind her.
"Hi, Erika," Jennie greeted, which got Erika to turn to look at him. "I’m Jennie Wilson," she introduced herself, stretching her hand forward for a handshake.
Erika stared at her hand before asking,
"Are you the one that texted me this morning?" She asked, totally ignoring her handshake. She was surprised that the person who was actually giving her husband so much trouble was a woman, a woman she can take of by herself.
Jennie smiled before lowering her hand to her side.
"Yes, I was. We have something important to discuss," she replied.
"I didn’t come here to discuss. I only came here to tell you to leave Anderson’s company. No matter the kind of problem you try to create for Ethan, he will always find a solution to it so you are simply wasting your time."
Erika stared at Erika with an impressed expression.
"I knew this was what you were going to say. I mean, which wife will be happy to see her husband’s company crumble to the ground," he said, which had Erika frown.
’Where’s she heading with this conversation?’ She wondered. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"I have something to propose, that’s why I called you here," she added.
Erika scoffed and muttered, "I should have known."
Jennie’s smile got even wilder and cleared his throat before he continued.
"Let’s take a seat first and talk," she offered.
—
"So what do you want?" Erika went straight to the point as soon as their butts touched the soft cushion of the chair because Jennie had the intention to call for a waiter but she didn’t come there to drink.
Jennie cleared her throat again and finally opened her mouth to speak.
